"When I say THE BEST MEXICAN IVE EVER HAD. Oh my god this place is amazing. The burritos are extremely flavorful and have the perfect kick to them. The quesadilla is cheesy goodness with perfectly tender steak. The house-made chips are just *chefs kiss*. By far my favorite Mexican food in LA."
"Every time I'm in LA, I always make sure to hit up this spot. Tacos el Venado is a taco stand located across a Walgreens and is legit one of the best tacos I've had in terms of quality, quantity, and price. They load up their tacos as you can tell in these pics, and they're just $2 per, with the option of adding melted cheese (queso taco) for an extra dollar. My favorite protein options are carne asada and Al pastor which are both flavorful and juicy. My boyfriend tried their suadero and said it was nice and tender with fatty pieces, but lacked some flavor. We only got some tacos this visit since this was a post-dinner snack, but if you're hungry, their loaded potato is delicious and they truly load them up. They also have a sauce bar on the side with different salsas, onion/cilantro, and pickled onions. If you order a burrito, they hand you your burrito open faced to let you add those condiments on top before they roll it up for you. Amazing food, I cannot recommend this place enough."

"These are some great LA street tacos!! There's always a crowd here and for good reason. The tacos are cheap, delicious, and sizable. They also accept multiple payment methods including card and even Venmo. You start by ordering either a regular or cheese-filled taco (highly recommend the cheese taco!). The cheese gets cooked straight on the flat top and the tortilla gets added on top. Then you pick your meat and toppings. They also have other options like burrito, quesadilla, loaded potato, nachos, etc. I tried one carne asada (steak), one chicken, and one al pastor (pork with pineapple) cheese taco. All the meats were juicy and well seasoned. The toppings were fresh and I just loved the cheese in the taco. It got super crisp on the flat top and added a lot of flavor to the taco. Another thing I appreciated was that the tacos were filled with a lot of meat. They were overflowing with meat so definitely get a fork with your tacos (and lots of napkins). The staff were very friendly and prepared the tacos very quickly. There is even a place to eat at a table by the taco stand. This place has now become my go to for tacos on the go!"
"Antonio was super nice and professional! Amazing customer service the food was delicious and it was a great experience for a birthday celebration! Thank you Antonio for making this experience unique."
"Stopped in for tacos on a Tuesday and was pleased to see a full bar. I ordered 3 tacos to go and enjoyed a couple of margaritas while I waited. The bartender recommended the spicy mango, it was so delicious and the cucumber mint , very refreshing. The bar service was great, each margarita made to order and you can take them to go. Spanish music in the background, some in seating on one side and the bar on the other. The tacos were good. The chicken birria was my favorite."
"Had lunch here yesterday with friends. I had the Chicken Tinga plate with brussel sprouts and mac & cheese. The chicken was spicy, but good. Brussel sprouts were excellent. As much as I love mac & cheese, I think this is the first time I've ever found it to be bland. It had no flavor at all, which was surprising. My girlfriend got a side of sweet potatoes and they were excellent. Portions are generous. Also, this location is small, with only three tables and a few seats along the wall and window. They also have an app and a self-service kiosk as well. Would eat here again."
"Food: tacos are amazing. If you're expecting anything else, don't because they have a very limited menu of tacos, burritos, and quesadillas, rice, and beans.Service: interaction with service folks is very limited. You order from the touchscreen and pick up your food from the counter when they call your name. Orders get put out pretty fast.Ambience: they just moved to a new location. Very fancy from the original location. That was just basically a stall in downtown with the roll up. Garage door. Now you're in a strip mall with a very sanitized Ste. Pros of the new location: parking is ample and seating is inside. Nice and warm.Pros of the old location: I'd like the old sketchy location lol"
"I ate one of favorite dishes at Lucy's Dtive in, a chili relleno burrito and found it to be very satisfying and delicious. The chili was stuffed with an good portion of cheese and lightly fried in egg, the service was good and very friendly and the restaurant was clean and inviting but a wee bit noisy as there was both music and television going at the same time, which is the only fault I noticed.Overall I gives Lucy's a rating of 8.8 due to the load radio and television play as the same time."
"Was driving north on La Brea and the sign happened to catch my eye while sitting at the light. I remembered seeing the name on a list for outstanding birria tacos. So I grabbed my friend in Hollywood and headed back to this spot for dinner. It's a super simple menu and there's not much decision making required. We ordered the Deluxe Plate to try things. We got to the beef quesadilla and immediately decided we needed another combo plate. Honestly, everything had a different name but was basically the same ingredients stacked a different way. Although I can't put my finger on it, the quesadilla stood out, it seemed juicier, fattier, tastier, with the addition of the cheese. The caldo here is pretty special. What was left after dipping, my friend drank the rest of it down. There's not much for parking. Late night is best and not too many of the other stores are open. The location is pretty divey and small. Service was quick and expeditious. They were courteous and friendly.I'd eat here again if in the area."
"HIDDEN GEM in North Hollywood Mexican Peruvian Fusion stand next to circus liquor. This is my new favorite taco stand! It's not just a taco stand. It's like a pop up restaurant with a wood fire oven and grills using mesquite charcoal! It smells AMAZING!! Handmade Tortillas and fresh bread. Love to see them grilling the meats on site and pizzas are made to order. Top sellers are the lomo saltado plate, Chile relleno burrito with chicharrón, pastor quesotacos and crispy tacos with shredded beef.Taco Thursday specials for $1.99 (crispy tacos with shells made on the spot)My favorites were the rib tacos, rib plate, chicharrón tacos and lomo saltado pizza. They are in the parking lot of Circus Liquor. Check for their hours for that day. There is no seating so it's food to-go. Great customer service. So helpful! Thanks to Robert, Jesus, Gloria, Leo and Sebastian!!"
"This was my second time eating at Alma Cocina de Mexico in a year and I must say, it's been good both times.Ambience You get a choice of two dining ambience options, upstairs or downstairs as well as inside or outside. If you choose to be outside, they always provide heaters. You can also ask for blankets if you'd like one of their community blankets. We were thankful for both the first time we went and sat downstairs outside. Sitting outside is a great option if you like to people watch, just prepare for the bite from the crisp LA air at nighttime. If you eat upstairs, it's mostly indoor dining with a view of the kitchen. There is a cool breeze, however, because of the upstairs outdoor seating. To get upstairs there's an escalator, flight of stairs, and elevator. So you've got a few options. ServiceBoth times I've gone, service was excellent. Everyone we were greeted by was polite, friendly and attentive.FoodYou start with a complimentary basket of yummy chips and salsa. I give their chips & Salsa a 10 out of 10. I enjoyed them, wish I got a little more salsa, and felt the salsa could use a touch more salt. There's salt and pepper at your table if you want to use it. You can also ask for a refill. We ordered the house salad to share. It had a vinaigrette on it along with onion, radish, pear slices, and tomato. I'm not big on dressing, but still ate it. I'll give it a 7 out of 10. We did request for the dressing on the side, but that did not happen. No sense in wasting it though. The first time I came I ordered the barria tacos 7 out of 10 for me. The tacos were good, but you don't get much consommé. This last time I had shredded chicken emoladas in a sweet warm mole sauce, 8 out of 10 for me. Both times my partner had shredded chicken enchiladas that comes with a green salsa, 8 out of 10 for her. Both the enchiladas and emoladas are topped with cheese, sour cream, shredded lettuce, and sliced avocado. You're welcome to request items be removed from the topping. I did, and it was not an issue. My partner also had a shrimp taco that we both tried, 9 out of 10. Both our main orders came with and option of rice and beans, 10 out of 10. Overall a nice date spot with good food. I'll be back to try more menu items. Enjoy!"
"The shrimp taco was to die for. Crispy and cooked perfectly. The tortilla also looks homemade. The cabeza was delicious too, and bean and cheese burrito was good. The side of red sauce is homemade and is SPICY!"

I recently saw all the hype about this fusion spot and knew I had to give it a shot. Not only is it a bit pricy but they charge $1 per sauce cup. Most places give you sauce as a standard curtesy for ordering... the excessive charge for sauce was such a turn off. Nonetheless, I paid for it and went on to try the famous falafel taco and a shrimp burrito. While good, that's just it, it was good.... Nothing extraordinary or memorable to make me want to come back. The service was fine, and the restaurant is located on the corner with tables and chairs out front but no indoor seating. Parking can be quite challenging too. Overall, it was fine but not noteworthy.

Such a solid Taco stand. So good I live nearby, because for $2/taco this is the best deal ever. Especially because they pack on the meat. I get the pastor probably every time, and it never disappoints. The service is kind, and it's easy to order. You just go up and say your order. They take cash or zelle only; thank goodness because I did not have cash on me. There is no seating but it's mostly a quick grab and go place, or you can sit in your car in the parking lot behind it. Quite the vibe sometimes. The horchata can be hit or miss, but it's usually a hit. I think the only time it was miss was when I went at the very end of a night one time, and it was a little watered down. Usually it's not like that though. One of my favorite taco stands!!!

If I could go back here tomorrow without feeling guilty and my stomach hating me, I would. But too bad they're closed Mondays! Never been a fan of burritos until recently.. I always thought they were too much but LA changed me. ESPECIALLY this one. I haven't had a good pastor yet (we used to go to Leo's but not as good as they claim) but oh man.. the pastor here is so tender and juicy and flavorful and I could go on. We got a queso burrito with a mix of pastor and carne asada (per our friend's recommendation), and we also love cabeza (the one from the taco stand on Melrose in front of Pavilions is yumm) and this one wasn't as oily/fatty so I felt less gassy after eating it lol.I love that they offer a good amount of seating. But no water bottles which caught me a bit off guard but we got to try their pineapple juice which was not overly sweet and refreshing. The service was fast and friendly, they got busy as soon as we found a spot at the table (tip: bring a fold up chair if you can, the table is big but only 6 chairs!). Parking was fairly easy to find, and because we fat we ended the night with some mini pancakes with fruits from the stand next door. Ugh I can't wait to go back to this place, already drooling just thinking about it!

This is my new FAVORITE restaurant. Chef Misael is a magician in the kitchen. I had the bacon wrapped fillet and lobster and everybite was just perfect. My amazing server Alejandra made sure I had the very best experience and I will definitely be coming back over and over again.

Went here again tonight for the 20th time. The food is always great and so is the service and ambiance. The carne asada is delicious! We were little worried because it was supposed to rain, but they have a new awning over the patio and heaters that make worrying about the rain a thing of the past. No we can get our taco and margarita fix rain or shine!!

First of all- AMAZING customer service. Oscar was the kindest, most helpful server. He explained all about the chicken, and when I wanted to change last minute, he adapted super quickly and with such grace. Second- this food is so good. Chicken is so flavorful and the sides are great (get the Brussels). So many healthy options and great for dietary restrictions (gluten and dairy free friendly!)Love a place that treats its chicken and customers so well. Coming back for sure.

I love the delicious food here, especially the cheeseburger combo--it's currently my go-to choice. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and is conveniently located in the mid-city area of Pico Boulevard. I highly recommend visiting this place; I think you'll enjoy it as much as I do. It's a local spot that has been around for quite a while, and I can't wait for you to try it out!

"What a fantastic addition to Silverlake!!! FYI this is from the same people who run Blue Plate in Santa Monica. Tacolina has great food and even better vibes. The ambiance is gorgeous and feels like a mix between Mirate and Ka'teen. It's outdoors but they have plenty of heaters and even blankets at the tables just in case. As for food I recommend the red snapper tacos, cochinita tacos and shrimp a la diabla. The cocktails are solid--love the guava daiquiri. Also, this spot is super dog friendly and even has puppy tacos."
"I'm a big fan of Ave 26 tacos! I normally go to the Little Tokyo location, but this one is closer to home. They were kind enough to give us a sample of the ribs since we've never had it before and it was really good!We paid $25 for 11 tacos! So much meat and plenty of self serve toppings and sauces as well. You can also buy drinks too. They take cash or Zelle at this location. You can park the plaza with the grocery store and the taco area is on the sidewalk. There's a big red truck so you can't miss it!"
"Love a good Taco Tuesday and you can't go home with (Danny) Trejo's Tacos. This location is one of five now and is a must!Inside the heart of the original Farmer's Market right in the center with plenty of shared stall/small biz seating throughout this open air built up marketplace.I love the Young Jackfruit Tacos but also more so in Burrito form. The bowls are pretty hearty and they have additional vegan as well as vegetarian options including mushroom asada, roasted cauliflower and various queso/cheese y/o blends for dairy goers.Chips are life at Trejos, this location and the Santa Monica Promenade do they extra well! Hoping to pop in again soon for Empanadas as like all their dish variety their is traditional, vegetarian, vegan, dairy free, and vegan optional... Not to mention some gluten-free by default choices.Bottles or canned beverages primarily, however you can select Agua Frescas + Horchata as well to go with your T.T. at the OG FM experience, service and eats."
"An LA staple. From the before time when they were actually in Avenue 26 to now resting between Arts District and Little Tokyo, all remains the same except for the prices ($2.25/taxo, used to be $1 back then). With various meat options, it's hard to go wrong. Just make sure you ask for a potato (free) and also grab yourself the grilled onions and peppers. Their green guacamole salsa is the best, don't get anything else. Their horchata has definitely grown smaller and more expensive over the years at $5 but still is a necessity. When I find myself in the area after a night out, Ave 26 is a must."
"Stopped by here after our hike. Our friend mentioned the tacos were Tijuana style with handmade tortillas. But paying $3.75 for a taco? I don't know about that..I got two pastor tacos and a birria vampiro. You can definitely tell the tortilla is made with love. We noticed that the tacos did not have guacamole, but instead it had some kind of cilantro/mint creme? Not sure what it is exactly, but it paired well with the taco. I enjoyed the birria the most!! The meat was full of flavor with every bite. You get guac if you order the chicken taco.Seating is bar style where you eat on the counter. Limited seating. I don't think I would crave to go back, but I do need to go try their carne asada. Because when we went they were all out!! How was that possible?! We went in the afternoon too lol. Parking lot on the side of the building. Restrooms? I'm not too sure since I didn't need to use it.This place is worth trying, but not on my top list of taco spots to go to."
"A quick tip: Umbrella Taco is sisters/neighboring with Melrose Umbrella Co. next door and albeit they overlap some things from their menu, don't get it wrong: come directly to this taco spot instead if you want the true and authentic best taco experience! This is a local gem of a spot! My boyfriend discovered umbrella taco a few years back, and this has become our favorite stop for quality tacos ever since! You seriously can't go wrong when coming here and ordering food, from the hospitality to the flavors within the tacos, you will not be disappointed! We wanted to give a special shout out to Juan and the staff for always being so hospitable and treating us so well every time we come in here! We have tried a variety of tacos, from Carne Asada to El Pastor to the cauliflower tacos, but by far the Al Pastor is the agreed-upon favorite! The flavors are an amazing balance of sweet and savory, and when paired with the spicy salsa, it makes her an epic dinner! But honestly, every single taco is so good. It's really hard to pick a top favorite! The carne asada is cooked really well and the cauliflower is fried in this really nicely tangy buffalo sauce and topped with a contrasting slaw which really highlights the palette well. We also really love the quesadillas, which are served in very large and generous portions. Our particular favorite is the chicken, which is stuffed with cheese and meat (yum)! My boyfriend, and I also love to pair our meal with one of the frozen slushies-- our favorite is the piña colada, which is made quite spirit-forward with rum if that's your kind of thing! But the margarita is also extremely refreshing and delicious! Honestly this place will continue to be one of our all time favorites and we're honored to be regulars here!"
"My boyfriend and I decided to fuel up at Tu Madre before catching The Cirque de Soleil Kooza show about 15mins away, and let me just say--it was a showstopper in its own right! We stuck to the happy hour menu (because who doesn't love a good deal?) and feasted on the Jackfruit Carnitas tacos, Eggplant Chorizo tacos, street corn, and their VKBBQ burrito.First off, those tacos? Bursting with flavor! The Jackfruit Carnitas had a smoky-sweet vibe, while the Eggplant Chorizo brought the spice game up a notch. At happy hour prices, these were a total steal. My only tiny critique? A smidge less salt would've kept me from guzzling water like I was prepping for a marathon. The street corn, though--chef's kiss! Sweet, savory, and perfectly charred, it worked as a delightful palate cleanser between bites. Honestly, I could've ordered an extra plate or two. Now, let's talk about the VKBBQ burrito. WOW. The flavors were next-level delicious, and sharing it with my partner meant I could enjoy every bite without overstuffing myself. (Two burritos would've been way too much for me, but sharing one was just right!). As a vegetarian, it's hard to find a good burrito that just isn't rice, beans, and cheese. This was one of the best I've ever had. Much better than Kogi Trucks tofu burrito! And shoutout to the complimentary chips and dips! That green sauce? My new obsession.Service was great, we were seated right away (it does help that we came on a Wednesday!) and ordered right away. I did have to get their attention a few times for water and the check - even though the restaurant was not as busy.If only Tu Madre had a closer location, I'd be there weekly! But with happy hour only Monday through Friday and LA traffic as relentless as ever, I'll just have to plan my visits carefully. Still, it's worth braving the congestion for these tasty tacos and burritos.10/10, would return for another pre-show dinner!"
"The food here is amazing. The customer service is excellent and I cannot say enough about how much I appreciate the thought behind putting the cheese on the side of my impossible tacos. I ordered the salmon/shrimp salad, the shrimp taco and the impossible tacos. Everything was so flavorful and tasty. I will definitely be back. So happy to have a local, tasty spot to go to."
"The absolute best place to have tacos y birria. Note that they are closed on taco Tuesdays. *insert cry face* Crunchy, flavorful and the broth.. aka consome is fantastic. Drink it up, dip in it, whatever you want. They have a few outdoor seats which is great! I'd recommend eating there if possible so you can enjoy them hot."
"Amazing Tacos and Great Atmosphere!Lichis Mexican Restaurant is a must-visit! Their fried fish tacos and shrimp tacos are out of this world--crispy, fresh, and packed with flavor. The perfect seasoning and fresh ingredients make every bite unforgettable. The staff is friendly, and the service is top-notch. If you're craving Mexican food and in the Tujunga area Lichis is the place to go. Highly recommend!"
"Angel's Tijuana Tacos has definitely become an Eagle Rock sidewalk staple, many times I passed by this place coming home from work, there's a line forming from here to Timbuktu, more so when the clock hits around 6'ish onward. My fiance and I have bought and have been satisfied by their Tacos, Burritos and Quesadilla's! Whether it is Asada or Al Pastor they are nicely seasoned and delicious not to mention they are VERY generous with their serving! Their Burrito is the size of a new born child lol and the Al Pastor Quesadilla...wow! delicious and honestly super generous with the meat - We absolutely love it!The place is a pop-up stand in front of Target on Eagle Rock Blvd. so parking isn't a problem as behind it is the Target parking lot! lol (I'm sure Target doesn't mind - there's a symbiotic relationship between the two) as far as cleanliness, they provide huge trash bins to keep everything neat and tidy (it's up to the customers to do their due diligence), I also see them sweeping and cleaning the sidewalk before and after, thought that was the right thing to do.Overall, Angels Tijuana Tacos really rates well in my book! Amazing Quesadilla's, Tacos & Burritos!Yum!"
"I've become obsessed with this place over the last year. Not only is the food great, but everyone who works there has gone above and beyond to make the food better and give great suggestions for the dishes themselves. Great food, great people. I HIGHLY recommend the chicken pesto sandwich and the baked potatoes. I wish I could recommend more options but I feel like I found perfection with the chicken pesto"
"I attend a family gathering, they served food from HomeState that was so delicious, I just had to write about it. A pre-order for 2 dozen tacos, tortilla chips and toppings was served. The tortillas were handmade and filled with a variety of protein, cheese and beans. Each was individually wrapped in foil and clearly labeled for your convenience. The food has a "Texas" flair to it, featuring brisket, pinto or black beans, diced potatoes, pickled red onions, Pico de Gallo, and vegetarian options too. I chose the "Don't Mess with Texas" soft taco. It was filed with Charro beans, bacon, potatoes and cheddar cheese. You can also buy a dozen flour tortillas as a side and save them for the next day! So worth the price ($8 a dozen). They are open 7 days a week, for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Try them and you will want to go back for more. Don't forget to tell 'em that Rosemary sent ya!"
"Villas tacos were very good, although each taco required several napkins. Perhaps bring your own wipes, as these can be messy. While I found them to be quite tasty, the toppings and preparation took away from the flavor of the proteins. Not a bad thing, really, but why have really tasty meats and then smotherThe flavor? Still, good tacos."
"Great spot for chilaquiles.Prepare to wait a little during weekends.Service was friendly and food was delicious.Highly recommend and will return.Bring cash!"
"Locals (of the neighborhood) convinced me to take a walk, with them, down the street, to get a late night carne asada burrito from this spot -- and I'm so glad I did. Damn, it was good. The way they grill the cheese onto the massive tortilla. I highly recommend a pitstop here when you're craving a big ol' spicy burrito."
"My fave spot in LA for tacos! It's also one of the few that sells suadero - which is my bf's fave. I love it too but my tastebuds love the pastor, cabeza, and lengua. It's on the sidewalk on Melrose in front of Pavillions. The line can seem daunting but it moves quick!"
"There are many street food vendors in LA, but Carnitas El Momo is in a league of it's own. They serve only pork - carnitas, buche (stomach), and cuero (pork skin). It's the easy they cook it though, that's outstanding. The carnitas is soft and moist, the buche savory and juicy, and the cuero gelatinously chewy and sticky. They're also extremely generous with the portion size. On top of that, they're also friendly and courteous. You can order meat by the # for $20/lb. It's a great deal. Will surely be back many times for more. Nom nom nom nom nom! Can't write more, gotta eat!"
"Love this place! I've had a lot of margaritas in my day but the salt foam on this one was mouth watering! Also the Atun Ceviche (tuna) was a perfect 10, I wanted to lick the bowl.. the shrimp was awesomely prepared with nice grilled onions a good sauce, but really the carnitas tacos with their chiccarones were, as the living people say, "to die for.." This place is newly opened and it was a breeze get in and order on a Saturday, and the 10 out of 10 for the music! I had to keep pulling my phone out to Shazam the songs haha"
"Best tacos I've ever had and I'm a pretty harsh critic. The flavor of the tortilla really shines through and the garnishes are perfect for every protein option.Sleek design and calm atmosphere.Fast and friendly service."
"Trejo's Tacos is the Bomb!!! I got the steak and shrimp burrito with guac and OMG, so great. Super delicious and HUGE! Their signature hot sauce is so great as well. Small but available parking lot in the back which is great given parking in the area. Trejo's Rules!!! I love this place!"
"A really cute spot in the Arts district. The outdoor space is especially cute and pet friendly. We got the guacamole and chips, spicy shrimp taco, and beef birria. We also got beer and aguas frescas. Food was fresh and delish. I liked the shrimp taco better than the beef birria. Portion is okay. A nice place for a quick bite."
"It was my first time visiting Tu Madre, great location close to my work. This location is a craftsman home turned into a quaint restaurant, delightfully decorated with colorful wallpaper and art. Pink neon signs around every corner and a courtyard of tables surrounded by adorable outdoor decor. I enjoyed a delicious mezcal drink called "deeply rooted issues" and the KBBQ burrito. SUPER YUMMY! The menu is extensive and service was super thoughtful and attentive. I'm excited to return for more after work dinners and drinks. Meter parking or residential parking if you're lucky."
