"Every time I'm in LA, I always make sure to hit up this spot. Tacos el Venado is a taco stand located across a Walgreens and is legit one of the best tacos I've had in terms of quality, quantity, and price. They load up their tacos as you can tell in these pics, and they're just $2 per, with the option of adding melted cheese (queso taco) for an extra dollar. My favorite protein options are carne asada and Al pastor which are both flavorful and juicy. My boyfriend tried their suadero and said it was nice and tender with fatty pieces, but lacked some flavor. We only got some tacos this visit since this was a post-dinner snack, but if you're hungry, their loaded potato is delicious and they truly load them up. They also have a sauce bar on the side with different salsas, onion/cilantro, and pickled onions. If you order a burrito, they hand you your burrito open faced to let you add those condiments on top before they roll it up for you. Amazing food, I cannot recommend this place enough."

"These are some great LA street tacos!! There's always a crowd here and for good reason. The tacos are cheap, delicious, and sizable. They also accept multiple payment methods including card and even Venmo.You start by ordering either a regular or cheese-filled taco (highly recommend the cheese taco!). The cheese gets cooked straight on the flat top and the tortilla gets added on top. Then you pick your meat and toppings. They also have other options like burrito, quesadilla, loaded potato, nachos, etc. I tried one carne asada (steak), one chicken, and one al pastor (pork with pineapple) cheese taco. All the meats were juicy and well seasoned. The toppings were fresh and I just loved the cheese in the taco. It got super crisp on the flat top and added a lot of flavor to the taco. Another thing I appreciated was that the tacos were filled with a lot of meat. They were overflowing with meat so definitely get a fork with your tacos (and lots of napkins).The staff were very friendly and prepared the tacos very quickly. There is even a place to eat at a table by the taco stand. This place has now become my go to for tacos on the go!"

"Had lunch here yesterday with friends. I had the Chicken Tinga plate with brussel sprouts and mac & cheese. The chicken was spicy, but good. Brussel sprouts were excellent. As much as I love mac & cheese, I think this is the first time I've ever found it to be bland. It had no flavor at all, which was surprising. My girlfriend got a side of sweet potatoes and they were excellent. Portions are generous. Also, this location is small, with only three tables and a few seats along the wall and window. They also have an app and a self-service kiosk as well. Would eat here again."

"I ate one of favorite dishes at Lucy's Dtive in, a chili relleno burrito and found it to be very satisfying and delicious. The chili was stuffed with an good portion of cheese and lightly fried in egg, the service was good and very friendly and the restaurant was clean and inviting but a wee bit noisy as there was both music and television going at the same time, which is the only fault I noticed.Overall I gives Lucy's a rating of 8.8 due to the load radio and television play as the same time."

"Was driving north on La Brea and the sign happened to catch my eye while sitting at the light. I remembered seeing the name on a list for outstanding birria tacos. So I grabbed my friend in Hollywood and headed back to this spot for dinner. It's a super simple menu and there's not much decision making required. We ordered the Deluxe Plate to try things. We got to the beef quesadilla and immediately decided we needed another combo plate. Honestly, everything had a different name but was basically the same ingredients stacked a different way. Although I can't put my finger on it, the quesadilla stood out, it seemed juicier, fattier, tastier, with the addition of the cheese. The caldo here is pretty special. What was left after dipping, my friend drank the rest of it down. There's not much for parking. Late night is best and not too many of the other stores are open. The location is pretty divey and small. Service was quick and expeditious. They were courteous and friendly.I'd eat here again if in the area."

Love to see them grilling the meats on site and pizzas are made to order. Top sellers are the lomo saltado plate, Chile relleno burrito with chicharrón, pastor quesotacos and crispy tacos with shredded beef.Taco Thursday specials for $1.99 (crispy tacos with shells made on the spot)My favorites were the rib tacos, rib plate, chicharrón tacos and lomo saltado pizza. They are in the parking lot of Circus Liquor. Check for their hours for that day. There is no seating so it's food to-go. Great customer service. So helpful! "This was my second time eating at Alma Cocina de Mexico in a year and I must say, it's been good both times.Ambience You get a choice of two dining ambience options, upstairs or downstairs as well as inside or outside. If you choose to be outside, they always provide heaters. You can also ask for blankets if you'd like one of their community blankets. We were thankful for both the first time we went and sat downstairs outside. Sitting outside is a great option if you like to people watch, just prepare for the bite from the crisp LA air at nighttime. If you eat upstairs, it's mostly indoor dining with a view of the kitchen. There is a cool breeze, however, because of the upstairs outdoor seating. To get upstairs there's an escalator, flight of stairs, and elevator. So you've got a few options. ServiceBoth times I've gone, service was excellent. Everyone we were greeted by was polite, friendly and attentive.FoodYou start with a complimentary basket of yummy chips and salsa. I give their chips & Salsa a 10 out of 10. I enjoyed them, wish I got a little more salsa, and felt the salsa could use a touch more salt. There's salt and pepper at your table if you want to use it. You can also ask for a refill. We ordered the house salad to share. It had a vinaigrette on it along with onion, radish, pear slices, and tomato. I'm not big on dressing, but still ate it. I'll give it a 7 out of 10. We did request for the dressing on the side, but that did not happen. No sense in wasting it though. The first time I came I ordered the barria tacos 7 out of 10 for me. The tacos were good, but you don't get much consommé. This last time I had shredded chicken emoladas in a sweet warm mole sauce, 8 out of 10 for me. Both times my partner had shredded chicken enchiladas that comes with a green salsa, 8 out of 10 for her. Both the enchiladas and emoladas are topped with cheese, sour cream, shredded lettuce, and sliced avocado. You're welcome to request items be removed from the topping. I did, and it was not an issue. My partner also had a shrimp taco that we both tried, 9 out of 10. Both our main orders came with and option of rice and beans, 10 out of 10. Overall a nice date spot with good food. I'll be back to try more menu items. Enjoy!"

"What a fantastic addition to Silverlake!!! FYI this is from the same people who run Blue Plate in Santa Monica. Tacolina has great food and even better vibes. The ambiance is gorgeous and feels like a mix between Mirate and Ka'teen. It's outdoors but they have plenty of heaters and even blankets at the tables just in case. As for food I recommend the red snapper tacos, cochinita tacos and shrimp a la diabla. The cocktails are solid--love the guava daiquiri. Also, this spot is super dog friendly and even has puppy tacos."

"I'm a big fan of Ave 26 tacos! I normally go to the Little Tokyo location, but this one is closer to home. They were kind enough to give us a sample of the ribs since we've never had it before and it was really good!We paid $25 for 11 tacos! So much meat and plenty of self serve toppings and sauces as well. You can also buy drinks too. They take cash or Zelle at this location. You can park the plaza with the grocery store and the taco area is on the sidewalk. There's a big red truck so you can't miss it!"

This location is one of five now and is a must!Inside the heart of the original Farmer's Market right in the center with plenty of shared stall/small biz seating throughout this open air built up marketplace.I love the Young Jackfruit Tacos but also more so in Burrito form. The bowls are pretty hearty and they have additional vegan as well as vegetarian options including mushroom asada, roasted cauliflower and various queso/cheese y/o blends for dairy goers.Chips are life at Trejos, this location and the Santa Monica Promenade do they extra well! Hoping to pop in again soon for Empanadas as like all their dish variety their is traditional, vegetarian, vegan, dairy free, and vegan optional... Not to mention some gluten-free by default choices.Bottles or canned beverages primarily, however you can select Agua Frescas + Horchata as well to go with your T.T. at the OG FM experience, service and eats."

From the before time when they were actually in Avenue 26 to now resting between Arts District and Little Tokyo, all remains the same except for the prices ($2.25/taxo, used to be $1 back then). With various meat options, it's hard to go wrong. Just make sure you ask for a potato (free) and also grab yourself the grilled onions and peppers. Their green guacamole salsa is the best, don't get anything else. Their horchata has definitely grown smaller and more expensive over the years at $5 but still is a necessity. When I find myself in the area after a night out, Ave 26 is a must."

"Stopped by here after our hike. Our friend mentioned the tacos were Tijuana style with handmade tortillas. But paying $3.75 for a taco? I don't know about that..I got two pastor tacos and a birria vampiro. You can definitely tell the tortilla is made with love. We noticed that the tacos did not have guacamole, but instead it had some kind of cilantro/mint creme? Not sure what it is exactly, but it paired well with the taco. I enjoyed the birria the most!! The meat was full of flavor with every bite. You get guac if you order the chicken taco.Seating is bar style where you eat on the counter. Limited seating. I don't think I would crave to go back, but I do need to go try their carne asada. Because when we went they were all out!! How was that possible?! We went in the afternoon too lol. Parking lot on the side of the building. Restrooms? I'm not too sure since I didn't need to use it.This place is worth trying, but not on my top list of taco spots to go to."

This is a local gem of a spot! My boyfriend discovered umbrella taco a few years back, and this has become our favorite stop for quality tacos ever since! You seriously can't go wrong when coming here and ordering food, from the hospitality to the flavors within the tacos, you will not be disappointed! We wanted to give a special shout out to Juan and the staff for always being so hospitable and treating us so well every time we come in here! We have tried a variety of tacos, from Carne Asada to El Pastor to the cauliflower tacos, but by far the Al Pastor is the agreed-upon favorite! The flavors are an amazing balance of sweet and savory, and when paired with the spicy salsa, it makes her an epic dinner!But honestly, every single taco is so good. It's really hard to pick a top favorite! The carne asada is cooked really well and the cauliflower is fried in this really nicely tangy buffalo sauce and topped with a contrasting slaw which really highlights the palette well. We also really love the quesadillas, which are served in very large and generous portions. Our particular favorite is the chicken, which is stuffed with cheese and meat (yum)! My boyfriend, and I also love to pair our meal with one of the frozen slushies-- our favorite is the piña colada, which is made quite spirit-forward with rum if that's your kind of thing! But the margarita is also extremely refreshing and delicious! Honestly this place will continue to be one of our all time favorites and we're honored to be regulars here!"

Bursting with flavor! The Jackfruit Carnitas had a smoky-sweet vibe, while the Eggplant Chorizo brought the spice game up a notch. At happy hour prices, these were a total steal. My only tiny critique? A smidge less salt would've kept me from guzzling water like I was prepping for a marathon.The street corn, though--chef's kiss! Whether it is Asada or Al Pastor they are nicely seasoned and delicious not to mention they are VERY generous with their serving! Their Burrito is the size of a new born child lol and the Al Pastor Quesadilla...wow! delicious and honestly super generous with the meat - We absolutely love it!The place is a pop-up stand in front of Target on Eagle Rock Blvd. so parking isn't a problem as behind it is the Target parking lot! lol (I'm sure Target doesn't mind - there's a symbiotic relationship between the two) as far as cleanliness, they provide huge trash bins to keep everything neat and tidy (it's up to the customers to do their due diligence), I also see them sweeping and cleaning the sidewalk before and after, thought that was the right thing to do.Overall, Angels Tijuana Tacos really rates well in my book! "I attend a family gathering, they served food from HomeState that was so delicious, I just had to write about it. A pre-order for 2 dozen tacos, tortilla chips and toppings was served. The tortillas were handmade and filled with a variety of protein, cheese and beans. Each was individually wrapped in foil and clearly labeled for your convenience. The food has a "Texas" flair to it, featuring brisket, pinto or black beans, diced potatoes, pickled red onions, Pico de Gallo, and vegetarian options too. I chose the "Don't Mess with Texas" soft taco. It was filed with Charro beans, bacon, potatoes and cheddar cheese. You can also buy a dozen flour tortillas as a side and save them for the next day! So worth the price ($8 a dozen). They are open 7 days a week, for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Try them and you will want to go back for more. Don't forget to tell 'em that Rosemary sent ya!"
