"3.5 stars Very good food - fish in paper is excellent. Hush puppies are yum! Very fresh seafood! Beautiful place with good wine (no alcohol at this time) High price point across the board Playlist is always top notch. Service could use warmth - at this price and with an automatic 20% gratuity on every table, welcoming your guests is crucial. Every time I've been in, service is almost too speedy - efficient but not welcoming. Pleasant but not friendly. It's great to have this type of place in the neighborhood, especially around Ave 47 but a bit of finesse is needed."
"I love the atmosphere of the place. It's very fresh and airy, and the restaurant is also connected to an ice cream shop. I came here on Valentine's Day for a last-minute dinner but would return to check out the ice cream after a beach day across the street. I appreciated that it was pretty easy to do a same-day reservation by calling in. I got there around 8:30 - 8:45p (they close at 11pm) and they were out of several items. They gave us their Valentine's day special menu that included a Surf and Turf (steak and shrimp) but they were out, and they were also out of risotto. The server was gracious about it though and helped guide us toward some other options on the menu. Our final choices included: Endive and apple salad, shrimp and scallop ceviche, steamed mussels and clams, patty melt, and butterscotch creme brulee. The ceviche was a little surprising because it was different than I expected - it was on the lighter side (more sweet and fruity than acidic). The Patty melt was good but by the time we got to it, the bottom slice was a pretty soggy and harder to eat with your hands. The table favorite were definitely the mussels and clams! We also got a couple of cocktails (Dr. Basil Honeydew; Zarzamora) which were tasty but didnt stick out as much, partly because they didn't taste as refreshing and the main ingredients didnt stand out as much."
Seared salmon, garlic aioli, crunch garlic chili oil, mustard dressing, negi.

"Such a cute place, small but with enough seating. For two people, we ordered the 5 combo handrolls and it was a good snack between meals. The food came out in about 10-minutes with a cute trash bin to put the wrappers. My favorite was the salmon and chopped yellowtail. We will definitely be back to try more of their handrolls!"
"Just had the most amazing Omakase at this gem of a restaurant. The fish was so incredibly fresh with the most sublime flavors, prepared and presented so beautifully by Chef Yutaka-san. Joey and Akiko were very attentive and personable, helping to make this all such a special experience. My new favorite sushi spot and I cannot wait to be back."
"Our go to neighborhood Chinese restaurant. We mostly do takeout and delivery. The delivery is always prompt and whenever there's an issue they are very communicative about it.Personal favorites include their Fried Rice, Kung Pao Tofu, and Singapore noodles."
"Sydney was our server and she was very attentive and hospitable! My father and I came in for a quick lunch and to enjoy their taco Tuesday special. He ordered the chicken rings, fried fish, and blackened fish tacos trip. I had the lobster, Cajun shrimp, and fried fish taco. My favorite was the fried fish taco. The lobster taco at first looked like it was filled with rice, but turns out it's more of a shredded lobster. Sweet and light with the flavor and the crunch of lettuce compliments the sauce they add. Very nice, will be coming back again soon :)"
"I wanted to support black business but the chili cheese fries were very expensive. They were salty and nothing extravagant stood out for them to be $23."
"Nestled in the heart of Chinatown, Golden Tree Restaurant is a hidden gem that offers a taste of authentic Cantonese cuisine. While the exterior might not be fancy, step inside and be transported to a bustling atmosphere filled with delicious aromas and friendly service. The prices are very reasonable, especially considering the quality and portion sizes. You can easily enjoy a satisfying meal without breaking the bank. On my last visit, I shared with a friend wonton soup, shrimp fried rice and mapo tofu. Everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The restaurant is small and can get quite crowded, especially on weekends so prepared for a wait. Parking in Chinatown can also be tricky."
"The food was good! The service was ok! Very crowded! Some items weren't cooked yet so u get something else or wait till they bring more out from the kitchen! We even bought some for the grandkids."
"Food was fresh, flavorful and served hot! Music was playing! Good vibes! Staff was friendly and it was clean!!"
"Came during dine LA. Our table werent ready since we arrived early so we had some snacks and drinks at the bar. The fries were so good. Thin cut and crispy. The prime rib is the best ive had compared to other places. They had several different sizes for the prime rib but i got the normal size. I put the bread on my plate and it absorbed all the juice so i wouldnt recommend doing that. Their horse raddish also went well with the prime rib. They had one that attacked your nose and the other was subtle. heard their spinach option wasnt good so i was glad i got corn. Service was amazing. Our waiter was hilarious."
"Delicious down home type souls good and fried fish. The food was ready quickly, served hot and fresh. I found them on Yelp and they did not disappoint. I will definitely be back."

Wow! This place is yummy! These dishes are packed with freshness and full of flavor! Im a sucker for a sweet tooth and I must say... i still think about this Derby Pie. So def make room for dessert or start off w/ dessert first. Lol Service was ahhhmazing and our server advised us what to try/ order (chefs kiss). Place is a bit small. Gives me New York vibes of how tight and close you are next to the other tables but love it. Cute spot for date night! Parking: street parking.

At this point, I've truly lost count of how many times I've been to Playa Provisions and yet somehow it just keeps getting better and better! My most recent visit was just last month when a friend was visiting from out of town and of course Playa Provisions delivered a great experience. We went all in and ordered quite the spread including the biscuit bites (YUM), oysters (YUM), skillet French toast, a matcha latte (duh), coffee, and two croissant sandwiches, which is quickly becoming one of my absolute favorites on the menu, especially for breakfast/brunch. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. If I had let myself, I probably would've ordered multiple matcha lattes, but I refrained... knowing I'd be back soon enough :) A special shoutout to our server, Barbara D., who was an absolute delight; so friendly, attentive, and wonderfully patient with two Italians navigating the menu. Service like hers makes an already amazing meal even better. From my very first visit (those fish tacos!) to now, Playa Provisions has solidified itself as a go-to spot for me. Whether it's brunch with friends, coffee on the dog-friendly patio, a whiskey bar visit, or just a casual meal by the beach, there's something for every occasion. I maintain my original rating of 5+++ stars for Playa Provisions! AND of course, another round of congratulations to Chef Brooke for winning Top Chef back in the day! Well deserved!

Excellent fresh fish, plastic wrapped nori so it doesn't get soggy before you eat it and good variety of hand rolls too!! The place is small with a handful of high top tables and a wrap around counter. I imagine most of their business is to-go/ delivery?? Anyway, highly highly recommend.

10/10 sushi experience. We did the deep sea omakase and we were blown away with the freshness and flavor of the fish. Each bite was amazing and i can't even put into words how great not only the fish was but the sushi rice.10/10 for everything. And the yuzu ice at the end. Wow. No better way to finish off the best omakase to date. The service was outstanding as well. Very sweet people and very knowledgeable about everything that is being served.MUST TRY. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

The food was very fresh. Tastes great, and menu descriptions are spot on. Service was friendly and welcoming, but could use a little work with accuracy. I ordered an entree, and asked for a side of veggie fried rice, which the waitress suggested instead of the white rice. When my food came out, she gave me a side of plain rice and soy sauce, and a FULL side of veggie fried rice. When I said I didn't order the full order, she said "Oh sorry, but you can take for later." With no offer to remove it from my check or take it back. Other than that the restaurant is pretty clean, and everything was delicious.

Was craving some Chinese food while in LA since it is harder to find where I live. This place delivered! We were 4 and ordered enough food for probably 8!Some of my favorites were the Honey Walnut Shrimp (must try), Orange Chicken, Chicken Lo Mein. We also got the Kung Pao Chicken, Fried Rice, Cripsy Garlic Eggplant, Crispy Shrimp Bok Choy Toast. All this for $100 with 3 sodas! The portions were huge so we obviously took about half home. The restaurant is very basic, hole in the wall style. Service was fine. We were starving and the food came out reasonably quickly. If you're just looking for good Chinese comfort food and not necessarily a nice night out, this is your place!

"I've been wanting to come here for a few years now and finally got the chance after an event at The Row. Came here on a busy Saturday evening with some friends and was immediately seated outside on the patio, which had heaters going. I can't speak too much on the inside, but the ambiance outside was super cute with lights and the background view of The Row.Got the steak aguachile as my main and shared truffle fries with the table. The fries were amazing and the steak aguachile was delightful! It definitely had a good kick and the flavors were magnificent. While it was a main dish, I was very surprised at how large the portion was! Definitely something you could split with another person or two. My only gripe was that it was mostly cucumbers and onions atop the steak. Made it flavorful and very refreshing, but the amount of cucumbers and onions was a bit overwhelming -- could definitely just used about half. Still, it was super tasty and just what I needed!Service was excellent as the staff regularly checked up on our table but wasn't overly hovering or rushing. Our server (whose name escapes me) was wonderful and friendly. Parking was super easy at The Row parking garage and the restaurant validates. Definitely want to come back and try their seafood, especially their oysters.Highly recommend if you're in the area!"
"Farfalla vodka pasta is soo good!! Accommodating staff and great Caesar salad, will come back again"
"The wagyu and king crab were super fresh and tender, best we had so far. The appetizers are awesome too, Im curious how they made everything so tender. We had 3 desserts luckily, on top of the famous banana pie, the matcha pudding was very good too. The cream brûlée didn't surprise me tho. Looks like small portion, but was more than enough for me and my husband. Which we went with one combo with extra people, not 2 orders. Service was great too, she would kneel down to explain everything before we order, and gave my baby free meal with extra dessert. Also we walked in without reservation, and had our seat no problem. Great experience."
"My wife was craving Chinese BBQ lamb skewers, so we randomly decided to try this hidden gem and we're so glad we did! The shopping plaza is always busy, so I recommend heading to the back for parking; otherwise, you might get stuck in the main lot. When we walked in, the server was incredibly friendly and took the time to explain how everything worked, including how to navigate the app to place our order. One pleasant surprise was that both of our kids automatically got free kids' meals! Another highlight: the large lamb skewers, normally $3.75, are only $1 before 6 PM. The only catch is that it's dine-in only, but with unlimited orders, it's a fantastic deal. The lamb skewers were delicious. super flavorful with just a hint of spice. The squid and squid feet were also great; we asked for them to be less spicy for the kids, and they turned out perfect. The okra was tasty, though a bit on the salty side, but that's what beer is for, right? Overall, this place is a great find with excellent food at an unbeatable price. We'll definitely be back!"
"We caught a noon reservation and sat outside. Unfortunately, I was too concentrated on catching up with friends but the exterior looked nice :) so I'm sure the inside is lovely. Our waiter was incredibly wonderful and notated his personal recommendations. Five stars because we had a lovely time, and the food was great. I don't think the price point reflects the portion or plates well (a bit overpriced) but the visit still deserved five stars :^)On the table: bub & grandma's bread, scallop tostada, chowder, fried oysters, cabbage, fresh oysters, and a fried cod sandwich with fries (and and wonderful wine -- I forgot which kind we got)."
"Best taste to value Chinese food on the westside. Huge portions, fast service and very friendly."
"The hype is real. I was always put off by this place since I read that parking is rough in this area. Surprisingly for doing a pickup on Friday at 7pm, free street meter parking (since it's free after 6pm) was plentiful. I think it was due to the NY holiday where the out-of-towners aren't taking up space. I placed an order online and drove over. The order still wasn't ready so I had to wait a couple of minutes.I got a number of dishes. The portions aren't that big so it's a bit pricey but the quality is there. Overall, the flavors are sweeter but they pack more of a punch and are very flavorful. I loved the deep soy sauce flavor of the pad see ew. The moo krob was just okay; I wanted this to be crispier. The shrimp yellow curry was unique and didn't taste like a curry I've had before; the shrimp was plump. The Tom Yum also had deeper flavors with tons of aromatics. The crispy rice salad was a bit of a downer and was too vinegary. This spot doesn't serve your typical Thai flavors and delivers something extra. You must be warned though that my tummy did have some troubles a few days after."
"Food is fresh & delicious+ quantity is plenty! The ladies are sweet and attentiveI went twice in recent months and both times were great. They serve fresh true grated Wasabi. Don't even have to request it! Not even some sushi joints have that! Impressed for sureParking is valet and $3The neighborhood isn't the best but definitely worth going for the food!"
"Hidden on a corner in DTLA , this place was a diamond in the rough. My wife and I went for our anniversary and it was amazing. Service was great! Food was great! It was nice inside, not to dark but not to bright. Noise level was moderate. We will definitely be going back here in the future."
"Review update may be forthcoming as I want to come back and try more from the menu, but as of right now I find Meizhou Dongpo just okay. I've gone twice now and just not been impressed with the flavors or dryness of the duck.Let me start by saying, I love the location of this Meizhou Donpo within Century City Mall. They have outdoor seating for fun people watching on the top floor of the mall and it's a fun, sexy evening vibe. Great service as this location, as well!Every time I've been thus far, the half duck was quite dry. Like I had one piece and couldn't do anymore due to it not being rich and juicy. The flavor of the orange chicken just isn't very strong and my palate is used to a sweet & sugary taste to the orange chicken. So if you are looking for a less sweet, more muted orange chicken you might love this. I did not enjoy the flavors though. As mentioned, I'll def be back and want to try more from the menu. It's just so convenient to dine here when you see a movie at the AMC. But, I won't be getting the half duck or orange chicken again."
"There were quite a few issues with my dish, but mistakes happen everywhere and I still love this restaurant. It's super chill and the waitstaff is kind and unpretentious. The reason for "four stars" is because we were celebrating my husband's birthday -- they received a heads up from me and confirmed they would put a candle in his dessert. When his dessert arrived, there was NO candle -- only a cheap "Happy Birthday" placard on the dessert. We were told "oh sorry, yeah, we don't have candles, only placards." Very thoughtless and honestly rude not to provide candles to birthday patrons who want to blow out a candle/ "make a wish" on their annual birthday. We sang "happy birthday" but he had nothing to blow out. Lame. How on earth do you not have birthday candles? It's just a few bucks. Go buy some."
"Tucked away in the corner of a plaza, it's hard to see from the outside. Inside is cute and even has traditional seats where you sit on the floor, with your feet dangling.Everyone is super friendly and when you walk in they greet you with the typical "irashai mase!" And a smile on their faces.Tried so many food items and ALL of the fish was so fresh. It literally tasted very comparable to Japan's sushi. Some of my favorites:- Literally ALL of the sushi (especially the monkfish liver & the Uni & the Handroll... IT HAS CAVIAR)- Oysters (super fresh, has ponzu jelly)- Fried oyster- Mentaiko Pasta (creamy, yumminess) Parking in a lot, sometimes will have valet."
"This is a long overdue review. I came here with my mother and the ambiance was very nice. It's a hole in the wall for sure on Manchester and I am glad we discovered it. The food and service was good. My mom is a social butterfly so the servers loved her energy and they were super polite and welcoming. I had their lamb chops and the drinks was well made. There were a lot of ppl that came in and had a good time as well. Definitely a place to come back to for good vibes, good food and good times."
"Had a Birthday celebration for my Daughter this past weekend. We had a large party of over 20 people .The entire group loved the food from appetizers to main course. We did have a issue with seating at the beginning because of the number of people but everything worked out .I would like to give a big Thanks to the entire staffFor the excellent service provided ."
"The sevice is amazing. I always order the fetishist and jumbo.shrimp. so.delish!!!! But the new items. Is onion rings, to die for, not on the menu."
"I haven't been to this place for years. Actually, it was about 35 years ago. I'm not sure when it switched from Cuban to Cuban/Mexican but it's definitely not Cuban any longer. I had the La Bamba Garlic chicken sandwich. It was good if your not expecting it to be a cubano type sandwich. If you want Cuban, I would suggest eating somewhere else. If you want a decent meal and your taste buds aren't set on Cuban cuisine, then it's a great casual option."
"Stopped by last Sat. for a meal with a good friend. Went at 11:35AM and there were 2 tables seated. We ordered and was enjoying our food when I looked up and realized the place was full! That was about 11:50AM. We ordered 2 small jjamppong and the pork tangsuyuk. Excellent, as always. We got full off the jjamppong so I took most of the tangsuyuk home to Vegas. The owner recognized me and said happy to see you. I hadn't been here since about 2 years ago. I was a regular for years and it was nice of him to still remember me."
"Great service!!! Delicious food.We went for our friend's birthday. The decor is pretty. All kind of tasty drink.Staff is very friendly and helpful.Highly recommend!!"

"Very solid Chinese food at a great price. Friendly staff, and awesome variety and selection of dishes that are ready made and can be made fresh to order. Dinning room is cozy. Parking is a challenge especially from 12-3 Thursday and Friday because of street cleaning."
"Love this place! It's run by the same company that owns Houston's if you've ever been there. They're great at consistently good American food, mostly grilled meat and fish options, although they really have a little bit of everything. One thing they're known for, but don't always advertise on their menu is their grilled artichokes. They have to be in season and available because they source them from this one special farm that grows delicious baby artichokes. I would definitely ask your waiter if you enjoy artichokes, they come out really tender and a little smoky from the grill and they're served with a delicious aioli. The restaurant is great for apps and steaks. I always get the spinach artichoke dip with tortilla chips because it always hits the spot. Their sushi is good too, I liked the spicy tuna which came with some roe on top. Last time I tried the deviled eggs which were creamy and delicious. As a main, I ordered the salad with grilled chicken as I was so overindulged with the apps I wanted something lighter for a main course. From past experience, if you like red meats, I would recommend their ribeye, Filet Mignon, & New York Strip as they're all delicious and they know how to grill their meats. They come out very well seasoned and cooked just to how you like them. Their service is excellent. All the waiters are super attentive and very friendly. The restaurant is dimly lit with nice decor and spacious bathrooms. A great place for a celebration dinner or just a nice dinner with family & friends."
"Absolutely fantasticA jewel in my neighborhood, it makes my heart and stomach smile each and every time.A Delicious delight. It's a light menue, featuring great cocktails; all to be ordered at a self serve window, once ordered and payed it will be promptly delivered to ones table."
"Located out in Monterey Park, is a fabulous Chinese cuisine, it has a traditional look for a restaurant, with ample seating. The parking lot is scarce with availability, so you'll have to park on the street. We ordered the Traditional Roasted Duck (24 hours in advance), with pancake, scallion and cucumber. Very good and crispy. They placed the serving plate on top of a bowl of hot water to keep the food warm, that was genius. Loved the deep rich flavors that were combined to make this scrumptious meal. We also ordered the Filet Mignon cubes in black pepper sauce. The beef cubes were perfectly cooked and seasoned. Tender with every bite, loved every bite. The Sauteed string bean with ground pork and dry shrimp was a nice addition as it help round out the flavors. The Dragon Ball that is lightly fried fish balls with shrimp roe's filling was a surprisingly delicious treat that added to our experience. The Crispy scallion pancake was a must have as it gave the full experience needed to enjoy this hefty meal. The service was faster than expected, as this place is on the higher end of quality food, which is a good thing. I would definitely come back, just because the flavors are so good."
