"We came in about two hours before closing. They were only doing takeout, TWO hours before closing. We ordered the chicken luleh plate for takeout, but I believe they gave me the beef. Not a big fan of eating red meat, but I was already far away. The plate was super delicious. I liked the eggplant side. Sadly, they were out of garlic sauce. Overall, tasty food, and I'd recommend if you'd like a filling meal."
"Amazing authentic homemade Persian food! Everything I had was so flavorful and reminiscent of the food my mom's friends would bring over when I was younger. I had the Persian Macaroni (bolognese) and that was amazing, seasoned very well with a delicious bite to the noodles. I also had the lentil rice and loobia polo which were delicious as well. I am SO happy Sogol's Plate was created and even happier that it is conveniently located close by in West LA!Excited to try out the other menu items! Super easy to order as well - you can DM them on Instagram, set up a pick up time, and then pick up your food."

"I took advantage of a discount to try this Persian spot. The beef koobideh was very moist and tasty. The plate also came with salad and rice, which was pretty good, salad could be a little fresher. Service was a bit awkward. It's counter service so I tipped ahead pretty well and the guy was nice enough but he kept forgetting to bring me water and utensils. There was only one person working upfront and he disappeared in the back for long periods of time so maybe they are short staffed."
"Persian new year is on the 20th but everybody celebrates it at 8 o'clock tonight. So the Persian flag was out all over Westwood. So I decided to go with my best friend Reza to have Persian breakfast. Food was delicious. I really liked the vegetarian Samosas I had this drink, called rosewater, Chia I'm obsessed! I like using rosewater in the morning to wash my face. The first drink did feel a little soapy, but after a minute it was delicious. I love this spot very clean and beautiful . The back patio, Super enchanting. My new favorite spot five stars #HappyPersianNewYear"
"The Service: Excellent! Very attentive and efficient. The staffs are always walking around the restaurant to see if customers need anything. And they take care of it right away! The Food: Love their beef kabob! So tender and flavorful. I like their grilled vegetables as well. Huge portion. Totally a family style meal. The Parking: Street metered parking or parking lot nearby."
"Great food, even better service! The halal chicken was so juicy and delicious I went during lunch and had the best meal for under $15 you can't beat that."
"So glad I discovered this cute little gem! I visited with 2 gfs for a casual GNO with small bites and wine, but this cozy, candle-lit spot would be perfect for a date night too. This place specializes in Persian country cooking and natural wines. I think this was my first time trying Persian cuisine.. and I was pleasantly surprised :). While everything we tried was delicious, the portions were on the smaller side, so it felt more like an appetizer-focused experience. - Nazkhatoun (eggplant pomegranate dip): the perfect balance of savory and sweet, paired with crispy flatbread that complemented every bite. - Shirazi salad: a refreshing mix of cucumber, tomato, and fresh herbs with a citrusy dressing. Super light and tangy! - Tahchine morgh: a comforting and flavorful rice dish with tender chicken, wrapped in a beautiful golden crust. The service was also a highlight--genuine, friendly, and attentive, making the entire experience feel warm and welcoming. Would definitely come back!"
"I found out about this restaurant because it became my favorite holiday gift card that I would receive from someone at my work. I would pick up amazing food to go and take it home to my kids. The three of us could eat off of two meals. So when my family asked for a restaurant near LMU, I immediately chose this one. There are kebabs of every meat that you would want. For me, the (now) vegan in the family, I went with a grilled vegetable kebab, and the sauce is ground walnuts simmering in pomegranate, I think. I don't know what else is in it to be honest, but it is delicious with the rice and the vegetables. Even the veggie kabob was enough for two meals for myself. Plus, we did order hummus before the meal, which was fantastic and filling!"
"I have been a huge fan of Raffi's Place for years! I have spent birthdays, Valentine's Day, or just a casual meal when we're craving their food here! The food is just delicious and the restaurant is inviting except for the insane wait, even on the week days. No reservations accepted. I've been here a handful of times but the time that left the most memorable time was during my birthday and our WAITER was JOSE. He was always smiling and patient with my table party of 6. Seems like we all have different taste buds and he took his time to explained everything to us. He was very attentive and definitely made our night very memorable. I've only had him once. I'm hoping we can bump into him again and have him as our waiter but haven't.This is by far one of my favorite Middle Eastern/Persian restaurant and I drive nearly 45 mins to come enjoy their food and ambiance.I think their food is the most authentic Persian food you can find in LA. Our favorite is most definitely upgrading your meal with the sour cherry rice ( Albaloo Polo)! So flavorful and with a little sweet and tart flavor and definitely compliments the beef soltani, barg kabobs, koobideh, lamb Chops, and salmon kabob. Complimentary Lavash bread, butter, and onions. Make sure to sprinkle some small seasoning on there, so good! For appetizer, I love the eggplant dish, ( the hot one not the eggplant dish) Kashk O'Bademjan- Caramelized onion and kashk (whey) served on a bed of fried eggplant. Delicious!Valet parking is $10 or a short walk next building is a public parking structure building for free 90 mins parking."
"Persian food is my favorite cuisine! I asked my Persian dentist for his favorite restaurant near Santa Monica, and he recommended this gem. It's newly renovated, and I was surprised to find no reviews on Yelp. The food was absolutely delicious! The space is bright, airy, and beautifully decorated with fresh flowers, creating an upscale atmosphere. The service is friendly, efficient and welcoming. My lunch started off with freshly baked bread and butter. The lentil soup, served with fresh lime, was both refreshing and satisfying. For the main course, I had the filet mignon. It was cooked medium-well to perfection--juicy, tender, and flavorful. It came with my favorite long-grain basmati rice infused with saffron, as well as grilled onions and tomatoes that complemented the dish perfectly.I will definitely be back--and especially when I'm in the mood for perfectly grilled meat. This place deserves to be on everyone's radar. I'll thank my dentist next time I see him."
"Located in a small shop on the Los Angeles street. This place is owned by two very sweet elders. The grandpa and grandma are the sweetest people you could ever meet. The food is delicious. Delicious. I am not Persian, and I am in love with their currant rice. Super yummy. My Persian friend recommended this place to me, and I'd say this place has the food that is even better than Raffis or Tehran Grill in the greater LA area. They serve their kabob with raw onion, in very authentic way, according to what my Persian friends said. I'd definitely come back for more. Price is also cheap too."
"This place sets the bar for me for Persian food! I don't have a lot of options in NorCal, so this was a treat.tried the ghormeh sabzi, tahdig, and a lamb shank dish. all were phenomenal. the sabzi was flavorful and rich, the tahdig had a nice crunch, and the lamb shank - well, it's very difficult for lamb shank not to be amazing.will definitely come back next time I'm in the area."

Lovely duo of mother who handles the cooking and daughter who handles the communication- was a joy to work with on my first order. They are super accommodating and will make any of their dishes regardless of whether it's on the day's or even week's menu.I asked for the tachin and kotlet. The tachin was glisteningly bright and golden with a crisp but not too crispy crust and a comfortingly buttery and fluffy inside. Chicken was decently moist, and the sourness from the barberries and yogurt balanced everything well. The kotlets which were flatter than I'm used to, tasted quite delicate especially considering they're fried. When I was trying to decide between the kotlet and another item, she had said the kotlet can't be found anywhere else because her mom uses a special recipe for the sauce so then I was sold as I'm a sauce fiend. The day before my pickup I asked if they do mast o musir which I always order at Persian restaurants. She said that's actually the sauce that comes with the kotlet. This was great albeit also a little disappointing as I was looking forward to this really "special sauce" which ended up just being the mast o musir. I will say though that it was still absolutely scrummy yummy, garlicky shalloty goodness. Another thing was the hand-written notes that other folks seemed to receive attached to their bags, which sadly I did not. But all in all everything was sumptuous and I'm looking forward to my next order. It'll be hard to veer away from the tachin to try other items. So glad for this wonderful homecooking nearby. Persian cuisine is one of those that everyone says the best really is in the home and restaurants just don't compare. Thankfully I now have access!

Persian pizza is hard to come by so when we found out about this place we gotta check it out. A small shop front in the Little Tehran area but they actually got an adorable shaded outdoor seatings at the back!Owner was running the place with a few other people. We tried the small Mixed Pizza and it's delicious. Super gooey cheese, plenty of toppings. My partner is Iranian and he's very happy. They also got other toppings and sandwiches as well.Pro tip: check-in on Yelp and get a free scoop of saffron ice cream!

Phenomenal meal! Super filling portion size even at lunch. All three kabobs we tried - Salmon, Chicken Combo, and Lamb Chop were delicious and some of the flavor and texture kabobs I've tasted. Service is very quick and kind! Garlic sauce on the side was also tasty.

There's something about the celebration of food whether I'm the one behind the kitchen, the one at the table, or both. Today I returned back to VoodooVin, a wine bar with Persian country cooking, on Virgil Ave in Los Angeles. I once came to this restaurant when Travis Hayden spearheaded the food. A few years later, the invitation of the establishment still swoons the visitor (myself) in. I bring a food. Their first time there. We order non-alcoholic drinks, the cucumber mint sharbat and immediately appreciated the refreshing normalcy of ordering such a drink in a wine bar. The drink fizzed with a right sweetness accompanied by the breath of cucumber. The pomegranate walnut stew and beef stew with red kidney beans were incredibly proportionate in the spices and salt it was hard not to keep digging in. The beef stew lent itself, to my memory, to something of a Persian-styled mole sauce with the subtle sweetness. It was all a beautiful meal. From the hello to the goodbye. I love this place!

The Rack of Lamb and Chicken Bargs are the most delicious dishes I've ever tasted. The barberry rice is quite impressive. The meats are lean and healthier. The service is honest, excellent, and efficient. The interior exudes class.Would come again.

"Salmon & beef kabob plates are highly recommended! Salmon is seasoned well & grilled perfectly, so tender & juicy. Beef is equally addicting. Its mere aroma is already a satisfaction & much more the quality of meat that melts in my mouth. Partnered with grilled green bell pepper & tomatoes that completes the harmony.Tossed salad is served fresh in light yet tasty dressing. Persian rice is not dry with the amount of moist & texture. Impressive!!!"
"I had no idea this place was so close to me, and it's absolutely amazing! I loved the EGGPLANT DELIGHT, DOLMEH, and the BEEF & CHICKEN SHISH KABOB combo. I'm definitely coming back! ENJOY! PS: There's street parking & also valet parking next door for $3."
"This place is a hidden secret. Well at least it seemed hidden to me since I drive past it all the time but never noticed. We stopped by for lunch, it was a nice day so we ate there, they have an outdoor eating area. When I arrived I was greeted and told to use the menu that's online and place my order there. I'm not sure but it seems that you can only order online. They served tea while we waited for our food."
"Great options, big plates! Have gotten Shish kebab & Lula kebab. Everything was delicious! Thank you, will definitely be back!"
"So delicious! Located next to Mashti Malone's ice cream shop, I noticed they recently opened after I made an ice cream stop. Finally just got their koobideh kabob combo and it was terrific. When it comes to kabob, it's all about the quality of meat, seasoning, freshness and, obviously, taste. The kabob here passes all those qualifiers, and given the affordable prices for the combo, which comes with rice and side dish, I absolutely give this spot my stamp of approval!"
"This review is long time overdue. Been coming here for years when I go to the Jewelry district by far best Mediterranean food of all downtown Los Angeles. Refer people to go there all the time.Brandon with 2DayBlinds-Gardena"
"Sunday brunch at 11:45 am - Tehran plate special, sampler trio, house salad Service: just right Ambiance: casual, loud music Price: ok Food quality: very fresh integrants. Indoor and outdoor seating.A great dining experience."
"Great place with great price. Bia and Sean made my experience better. Lunch menu is big enough to feed I would definitely recommend this place to everyone and will come back again.."
"5 stars just for the tumeric braised jidori chicken alone. comfort food at its finest. i love the more well-known kabob and rice dishes of persian food but was not familiar with this aspect of persian food before fortunately giving azizam a try. maybe southern iran, according to my friend. i could eat their tender jidori chicken almost everyday, it being so comforting. the pickles are also a great subtle acidic complement as well. lima bean rice was awesome. If I had a Persian grandma, she'd make me this. only small complaint is that the chicken portion is a bit small if you want more protein. i look forward to trying many of their other dishes just based on the chicken. ordered through doordash, but maybe i'll make the trip to the actual restaurant some day. great addition to anyone's rotation. i'll definitely eat this again and again."
"I love it here. I visit every time I go to LA. It's fresh and the flavors are always consistent and never disappoint me. They always treat me like family."
"I love this spot! I've eaten here numerous times and the kebab is great. Definitely try the salmon. Staff is great and prices are very reasonable."
"Called an order in and was ready for pickup in 15 minutes! As always the servers are gracious and patient, you can really feel their love for their business, culture, and food. Their eggplant is impossibly tender while savory and sour, and the cherry rice is always the perfect accompaniment to the richness of the koobideh."
"I ordered Sadie's Pizza (within Shekarchi's) via phone. The pickup time was ~15-20 mins after placing an order. Shekarchi is clean and cozy and had friendly staff who were welcoming upon arrival. The pizzas were ready when we got there! We got the Hawaiian (red sauce with ham and pineapple) and Classic Bianca (white sauce), and liked them both. Generous toppings, good flavors, and tasty crust. Can't wait to try other pizzas next time!"
"Checked this place today for lunch. Not a bad spot, friendly staff, humus was good, I had the chicken kabob plate. Ensure you bring an appetite. The portions are GENEROUS!! Comes with plenty of rice. Chicken portions are good and the salad is a big portion! Enjoy!"
"Fantastic! Swooped in for some Birthday treats and was absolutely stunned at the service and selection. And the goods were of an unparalleled deliciousness. Truly truly wonderful. I walked out with a big white box of yummy, arrived at the party and watched as ALL of it was consumed within about 15 minutes, a sea of grins and wife eyed satisfaction, everyone demanding to know where I got it.I'm not one to keep a secret. So here yah go. GO. I'm gonna be back for everything else on the menu ASAP. These folks are a pleasure and the food is completely off the hook. Highly recommended!"
"This place was so bad even one star is too generous! We needed to grab food on a late Sunday night so we stopped by this place on our way back from LA to OC. All I can say is that I've never passed on eating any food specially not when I've been hungry. I ordered kabob barg which is the safest food and you can never go wrong. Unfortunately and to my surprise as soon as they put my food in front of me the bad smell of rotten meat made me so sick I could not touch the food. I told them and they were nice enough to change it to chicken kabob. But, as soon as I took a bite it tasted bad and even though the smell was not nearly as strong but it was still there. My husband also ordered lamb tahchin and barely touched his even though he was very hungry as well. This was the worst food I've ever had in my life"
"So delicious. Some of the best ghormeg sabzi. Quick serve, and it's kosher!! One of my favorites in LA."
"Decent place to get Halal food in Marina Del Rey. The falafel were freshly fried. Easy to get a table and the restaurant has nice natural light."
"Amazing food and service. One of the best kabobs I've had. The two people working there did it all. A true family business. We will definitely be back and definitely recommend!"
"This is the place to enjoy a great meal, especially those who don't yet know they like Persian food. With mild seasonings in comforting food, I think anyone would find something to love here. Our server Victor gave excellent, warm, attentive service. We sat in a comfortable booth. **Baba ganoush (eggplant dip) - excellent appetizer, beautifully plated, drizzled with tahini sauce, so delicious and lightly smoked. I love it also by the spoonful without pita bread **Stewed Lamb shank bademjan - a little pricey for $31 but so worth it. The lamb falls off the bone, rich stew, more eggplant, yes! Not a fan of the crunchy rice, but the basmati rice is so light and fluffy. It was as amazing as many years ago before Javan closed their business and thankfully reopened last year. Had extra to bring home as well. **Chicken chunk skewer - one skewer of chicken breast, moist, and well seasonedI've had their beef koobideh and grilled vegetables, all great. Sumac sprinkled over the rice adds some tartness.Very clean bathroom and on some nights you'll hear a live piano. By the entrance is a case with tempting lemon bars and baklavah. It's a more upscale environment, though some customers dress casually. Of all the Persian restaurants in West LA, Javan is my top choice."
"You HAVE to try the apricot-cherry chicken! Don't forget the baghali polo!So good, just like homemade."
"Looking for a fresh kebab this is the place to go. I got the combo plate and it was pretty good. Nice sized portions as well. I really liked the hummus. Pricing is a little steep but keep in mind the portions."
