"A+ all around from the food to the ambiance, the service to the presentation, it altogether was a spectacular dining experience. I brought my friend here for a birthday dinner, not expecting much. We were blown away by the dishes we ordered - the hamachi, escargot, uni gnocchi, crispy red snapper, Wagyu. The standout was the uni gnocchi and second was the crispy red snapper. We ALMOST didn't order the uni gnocchi, but luckily our server talked us into it. It's such a creative concept and actually has a lot more gnocchi than you expect when you first look at it! Good but not overpowering flavor, sauce had a nice creamy consistency, and the gnocchi was perfectly al dente. Highly highly recommend this dish. Our server mentioned this was a seasonal dish that was so popular that it made the main menu. Lucky us!Crispy red snapper was cooked perfectly and the plating was beautiful. I personally wasn't the biggest fan of the beet sauce under the snapper, but it was wonderful to look at! The other sauces on the plate also paired very well with the red snapper. Some things to note - - you could get lucky and snag free parking in the spots right as you enter the street - they don't serve alcohol yet so it's all mocktails for now! Luckily there are many bars nearby if you want a drink - they switch out the dishes so a plate you see on yelp may not be on the menu by the time you dine- choose the dining room for seating! The bar and bar tables felt very small. We were very glad we didn't choose those during our reservation"
"I love the atmosphere of the place. It's very fresh and airy, and the restaurant is also connected to an ice cream shop. I came here on Valentine's Day for a last-minute dinner but would return to check out the ice cream after a beach day across the street. I appreciated that it was pretty easy to do a same-day reservation by calling in. I got there around 8:30 - 8:45p (they close at 11pm) and they were out of several items. They gave us their Valentine's day special menu that included a Surf and Turf (steak and shrimp) but they were out, and they were also out of risotto. The server was gracious about it though and helped guide us toward some other options on the menu. Our final choices included: Endive and apple salad, shrimp and scallop ceviche, steamed mussels and clams, patty melt, and butterscotch creme brulee. The ceviche was a little surprising because it was different than I expected - it was on the lighter side (more sweet and fruity than acidic). The Patty melt was good but by the time we got to it, the bottom slice was a pretty soggy and harder to eat with your hands. The table favorite were definitely the mussels and clams! We also got a couple of cocktails (Dr. Basil Honeydew; Zarzamora) which were tasty but didnt stick out as much, partly because they didn't taste as refreshing and the main ingredients didnt stand out as much."

"My friends and I finished the Hollywood sign hike and wanted to get brunch afterwards. We found this cafe tucked in the neighborhood. We got seated right away but it got packed later on. I got the beach wood egg scramble with potatoes. The scramble came with spicy sausage and cheese. I also liked that it came with a scoop of guac, sour cream, and pico de gallo on the side. Food was simple but really delicious The portion was big. I thought I wasn't going to get full but I did!"
"Ugh. I remember having such a good meal here...3 years ago. Stopped by with a friend and had really bad food. I mean really bad. Caesar salad with wilted, brown-edged lettuce, calamari that tasted stale and undercooked. Basically yuck. Maybe it's better at dinner but I don't think I'll take a chance."
"It's all about the cardamom bun here which is only served during weekends.. I feel like a kid again when I unravel the layers similar to that of cinnamon rolls. I look forward to coming here on the weekends because they up their pastry menu with added items. What I like about this bake shop and restaurant is the quality of ingredients using locally sourced heirloom grains. I can taste the difference with some of their pastries having whole wheat. They're also known for their artisanal breads which are served with some of their breakfast items. The pork breakfast burrito wrapped in a whole wheat tortilla is delicious. Comes with pork shoulder slow cooked in red chili, soft scrambled eggs, potatoes, cheddar, salsa, and hominy. What I order regularly is the short rib hash. Tasty braised beef in it's au jus and potatoes. Topped with two sunny side up eggs and green salsa verde. Served with whole wheat sourdough toast which is great dipping in that au jus. All the other pastries are great tasting and made with seasonal fruit. This last summer, I was lucky enough to try their seasonal peach pastries; brioche, kouign amann, puff pastries, Danish, hand pie, etc. The pain d'amade is similar to that of a brioche but with almond paste in the middle, sliced like a pie, and topped with powdered sugar. Again, you can taste the quality of the wheat. I believe this is only served during weekends. A great treat if you're into almond filling type pastries. Infatuation LA rated their croissants as best in LA. Honestly, I think the croissants are good but there is a lot of competition in LA and better ones out there. I love "mostly" everything else here."
"I could've swore I left my review for this place. Stopped here after going to Griffith Park for an early afternoon brunch. The first thing I have to say is the service was outstanding! Everybody was extremely friendly, the wife had a pot pie that she thoroughly enjoyed. I had some type of rice crispy encrusted French toast. I have to tell you it was amazing. I wish this place wasn't so stinking far away from my home as I can't get the amazing taste out of my mind. If you are in the area, I highly recommend that you stop by. While it was a little early for me to have a drink, it appeared there bar had a full selection of anything you could've wanted. The ambience of the place is also quite unique. The only thing that is tough is the parking. But that can be expected in the LA area."
"For my last nice meal of 2024, I visited Agnes Restaurant & Cheesery in Pasadena. It was a busy Monday night (Raclette Night!) during the holidays, so we waited over an hour despite being quoted 30 minutes. Thankfully, we knew what to order by the time we were seated. We started with the Raclette with Prosciutto--I had high hopes for tableside cheese scraping, but it came pre-scraped and got cold pretty quick, which was a letdown. The dish tasted fine with its tater tots, pickles, bread, and prosciutto, but I expected more.Babé Farms Lettuces were a surprise hit--simple but packed with flavor, thanks to the dates and vinaigrette. Seared Scallops were beautifully seared with light curry notes, fresh crisply cooked vegetables. We also got the Steak Vanessa was perfectly medium rare with a smoky, tender bite, the mushroom sauce was paired well with the steak. For dessert, we shared the Thai Banana Split--crispy fried banana with pandan and Thai tea ice creams. It was sweet but balanced out well.Overall, the food and attentive service made up for the wait, and I loved checking out the specialty items in their store. I'll definitely be back!"
"Chinese beef rice and orange chicken are amazing and exactly what LA needed . I have gotten to almost all of the menu but will tell you that I get so excited when I even hear "Geshmak" . Gaby, the manager/ server will go above and beyond for you and takes every single customer and treats them like royalty and her only want is that food your eating is perfect . Thank you Gaby for taking care of me and a large family of over 20. So professional and so friendly, Gaby will make you feel like you're in the ritz ."
"Went to this place for the first time tonight, even though it's been in my backyard for over a decade. The food was absolutely phenomenal. We had the steak quesadilla, which had this gorgeous peanut oil sauce and citrus crème on the side. Got an order of their guacamole with freshly fried tortillas: so fresh. Also fell in LOVE with their Barbacoa taco. My company had a beer and was pleased with it. Loved the ambiance and service. Just totally kicking myself for going there for the first time tonight! Definitely check this place out."
"Staff and food here were excellent. The owner came by to say hi, she is an absolute sweetheart."
"Boyfriend took me here for a little holiday brunch date. They had a beautiful Christmas tree up in the lounge area which was so cute!A lot of reviews state that their food quality was mid or service was bad but we had not problems at all. Street parking obviously but not too hard to find. Ordered the crispy rice salad and lollipop sprouts for appetizers. Got the veal pasta as an entree. I'm not going to lie this is some of the best food I've ever had in Los Angeles and that says alot. The lamb pasta was god sent."
"Excellent service, views and dining experience. Came for a business dinner with a colleague and we thoroughly enjoyed our time after a hard few days of work. We were also guests at the hotel so reservations were easy and started with happy hour which had a small selection of drinks but were priced well for the ambiance. Our server MICHAEL was incredibly knowledgable and answered all of our questions, made wine recommendations and overall provided a lovely complement to the evening. The visit from Executive Sous Chef MANUEL who served our wagyu steak, torched table side was the icing on the steak (ha,ha). Highly recommend for a business dinner or special occasion."

At this point, I've truly lost count of how many times I've been to Playa Provisions and yet somehow it just keeps getting better and better! My most recent visit was just last month when a friend was visiting from out of town and of course Playa Provisions delivered a great experience. We went all in and ordered quite the spread including the biscuit bites (YUM), oysters (YUM), skillet French toast, a matcha latte (duh), coffee, and two croissant sandwiches, which is quickly becoming one of my absolute favorites on the menu, especially for breakfast/brunch. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. If I had let myself, I probably would've ordered multiple matcha lattes, but I refrained... knowing I'd be back soon enough :) A special shoutout to our server, Barbara D., who was an absolute delight; so friendly, attentive, and wonderfully patient with two Italians navigating the menu. Service like hers makes an already amazing meal even better. From my very first visit (those fish tacos!) to now, Playa Provisions has solidified itself as a go-to spot for me. Whether it's brunch with friends, coffee on the dog-friendly patio, a whiskey bar visit, or just a casual meal by the beach, there's something for every occasion. I maintain my original rating of 5+++ stars for Playa Provisions! AND of course, another round of congratulations to Chef Brooke for winning Top Chef back in the day! Well deserved!

This was a great experience for me. The perfect escape from the beautiful chaos happening in Union Station. Service was fantastic and the food was great. Stopped in before catching a train. Will definitely be keeping Traxx in mind for future commutes. Calamari was a huge surprise. A lot better than I expected. Crispy and plentiful. Birria Tacos were also pretty good and the perfect snack before resuming my travels.

Was excited to try this place while visiting a friend. Very cute enclosed outdoor patio seating area which we were able to sit in with her dog, heaters at full blast so it was very comfortable. Started with a half tower of onion rings which come with 3 dipping sauces! We tried the zesty bbq which does have a little kick to it, the ranch which was classic of course, and artichoke garlic dip- my favorite, a rich aioli bursting with garlicky goodness. The chicken pot pie was absolutely delicious, flaky, soft crust with a saucy interior richly flavored with herbs. Cornbread was sweet, fresh and served with butter. The server was friendly and so helpful, and I ended up grabbing a generously filled glass of the house white (Grenache blanc), a dry white which went perfectly with the chicken. Crowd was very hip and young on a Saturday night, but it wasn't unpleasantly packed or anything. Great atmosphere, rich warm food. Definitely will be back to try the rest of the drink menu, which looked really fun and solid as well!

My sister chose Agnes for our post-Christmas brunch get-together. The atmosphere is warm and inviting -- just like the staff. We were greeted and seated as soon as we checked in for our reservations. Our server was wonderfully cheerful and patient as my family decided on their orders. We had several team members taking care of our table. Each one making sure we had everything we needed. We were never rushed as my family chatted away. The food was spectacular! Every dish was beautifully presented on lovely floral dishes and simply delicious. Our favorites were the Grits Carbonara and Apple Pie Churro. Portions were just right.Agnes easily earned a top spot on our brunch list. We will definitely be back!

"Far exceeded expectations in just regard to everything we could have hoped for. This is definitely a michellin restaurant and you can tell from the intentionally to every single ingredient used, to the ambiance and culture that truly embodies a one of a kind, "fine dining", experience. Every dish was introduced and edified spectacularly, every bite for us hit the spot, every recommended beverage pairing did not miss. Shoutout to chef DJ & to his entire team. Truly felt like one happy, precisioned and inspired family. From the custom dining, to the handpicked playlist, I could write a full on paper on why we would recommend and continue to come to this place. Don't pay attention to the haters here who probably watch too much food channel and have a silver spoon up their asses. This place is quality and if you enjoy immaculate, well intentioned and thought out pieces, you won't be disappointed. Thank you again! Ps. Shoutout to Marquise for the experimental cocktail. Wifey loved it and so did I!"
"Perfect on-the-go breakfast spot. A few neighbors and I ordered a different muffins to try before our game night and they were all so delicious! I love their Sausage redemption with hash browns and a side of Karma Coffee"
"I have never experienced anything less than a 5 star experience at Delilah's! It doesn't matter if I'm there for a dinner reservation with a group, there to dance, on a date, drinks or stopping in late night after getting a bite somewhere else close by. The employees are always so welcoming and accommodating and always have treated us with the upmost kindness and respect! The drinks are amazing as well as the plates. The old Hollywood, dark mysterious vibe is the best experience! I love the vibe of the candle light dinner with no photos allowed. My favorite menu items are the salmon, french fries, the oysters and the yummy deserts! I feel valued as a customer and will continue to be a loyal one at that!"
"On our first visit, we were seated right away, which was great. The restaurant is quite dark inside, and if the menus hadn't been accessible via a QR code, I would've had to use my phone's flashlight to read them. The service was average, and while the food was good, we only shared appetizers. The chicken sliders were definitely the highlight for me. However, the bill came to nearly $200 for the three of us, which felt steep, especially with canned non-alcoholic beer priced at $10. The bathrooms were outdated and only had hand dryers, which I dislike since it means touching the door afterward. With so many other options in the area, I probably wouldn't return. At least we can check this place off our list of spots to try.9/9/24"
"I came with a friend yesterday. The waiter we had is a man of few words. When I asked him about the pies he just pointed me to the board and said "they're over there" pointing to a glass cabinet behind the counter. I am someone that likes to see what looks appetizing and they wee too far to see. Knowing I didn't want a refrigerator pie. I ordered what I thought was a baked pie the Key lime and coconut. The slice came and it didn't taste good. It's was a hyper sweet and not citrusy refrigerator pie. I ate about half of it and felt nauseous for ay two hour after. My friend ordered a tuna sandwich. The tomato's were under ripe and the bread was dry and tasteless. The tuna was good but everything else was terrible. For two coffees, one stale tuna sandwich and a terrible slice of pie we pad $35 plus tip. The waiter never came to check on us. To ask if we needed anything or how the food was. I've been there before and had good. Nice, chatty, happy to answer questions and make suggestions servers. The way good old fashioned American dinner service should be. Frankly a pie from a grocery store would have been more enjoyable.Adding that I was here a few months ago for breakfast and they serve their pancakes cold and with their own syrup that they make which tastes like watered down molasses. It's terrible. Cheap pancake syrup from Smart & Final would be much better."
"Came here for brunch with a group of friends and everything was delicious! My boyfriend and I got the truffle fries, spinach pesto pizza, and California omelette. The others got egg sandwiches, steak and eggs, and the apple French toast. The skinny studio heat, basil fizz, and espresso martini were all great.Service was good-- the staff rounded the table frequently to check in and were friendly. The outside patio is covered and a great area to sit to enjoy the fresh air!"
"We love the stand so we were super excited to try this location for the first time! Right off the back I noticed how nice & well kept this location is. I love that they provide indoor & outdoor seating & also appreciate how well kept they keep their store. We opted for outdoor seating & ordered a kids cheeseburger meal along with the chicken club sandwich. The service was extremely friendly & attentive, I really loved how nice & helpful the staff were! Food came out fast & tasted fresh & flavorful. Parking was easy but I could see it being difficult on a busy day as there's only street parking from what I could see. Overall, great experience!"
"Dinner time Spicy Bear has been my go to for a while now...and after 3 or so years...it still rocks!Love the beer choices, happy hour discount, and spectacularly wonderful service. The staff is on-point, always smiling and always makes us feel special. An absolute gem in the neighborhood. Thanks!"
"I was able to finally come visit Yamashiro. We made a reservation a good month ahead of time to come for dinner to celebrate my birthday. We were hoping to have caught the sunset but missed it by a few minutes. The restaurant is near the Magic Castle and truly has a nice aura to it that makes you forget you are in Los Angeles. We had a few minutes before we were seated so we decided to roam the grounds. Sadly the bar at the bottom was closed during our visit and the garden seemed to be under some care. Our waitress was so kind and nice. We were seated outdoors since there was an event going on inside (seemed like a company holiday party). I wore a dress and brought a coat, although I had a heating lamp near by, I was still a little cold so didnt take my coat off at all. We ordered:Spicy tuna crispy ricechampagne miso chilean sea basssalmon citrus rollcoconut hamachi cevice white dragon rollRyujin cocktailEverything was good, enough for two hungry adults to enjoy for dinner. Being that it was my birthday celebration, our waitress brought over a little dessert to enjoy which was a nice touch and also delicious. I also liked that our waitress gave me the time to ask her questions about the restaurant's ghost. I would love to come back and check it out during the day. I was told they have a decent Sunday brunch. Valet Parking onlyReservations are highly recommended"
"Came here for lunch but unknowingly didn't realize the vast difference in menu items as lunch is more pizza heavy (& sandwich) than other dishes. We were seated on the rooftop which was nice and there are space heaters for the colder days. The aesthetic is really nice with earthy tones and wood doors and panels. As you're walking up, you'll see on the 2nd floor bar area the ceiling hanging of dried figs which was beautiful but also brought out this pleasant smell to the room. We ordered:+ Japanese Sweet Potato, Jalapeño Yogurt, Scallion - our favorite dish with nicely panfried potatoes and the jalapeno yogurt was a nice pairing to give a sweet and savory palette. + Beef Tartare, Sourdough, Dijon Mustard, Caper, Shallot - served on top of a toasty bread that was the perfect thickness so the ratio of tartare to bread was great. + Pizza Anchovy, Nardello Pepper, Cherry Tomato, Burrata, Caper, Parmesan - the ingredients read like a flavor explosion but it was pretty muted. The wood fired pizza crust and texture was great though and I really liked the lemon zest on top.+ House Made Pickled Vegetables - would skip as it's nothing special and quite a small portion so not really shareable. + Braised Pork Meatball, Tomato Sauce, Parmesan, Sourdough Toast - I would potentially skip this if you're not obsessed with meatballs. My friends raved about the pasta during the dinner so I will need to make another visit for that!"
"This is an amazing brunch location. Peaceful and tranquil garden. Artistically decorated interior. All the staff on site are friendly and helpful. As we walked in and looked lost at the parking lot, a garden staff that is working on some plant got down from her ladder guided and walked us into the restaurant. The server Issac and Stephanie were so sweet and helpful, cleaning up table and dishes as we finish. They even set a gift table for us.The brunch is a buffet style brunch. $14 all you can eat. There's a good variety of pancake, deviled egg, salad, beets, meatballs, salmon, fruits and bread and butter. For an additional $4, it's all you can drink juice and iced tea.You can also add mimosa.Service is definitely a 5 stars here.Location is beautiful inside the manor hotel by the Scientology building."
"Excellent ambiance, food, service and overall experience. They only had a very limited cigar smoking area. They can easily accommodate cigar smoking in their outside lounge."
"Came here for date night with wife and wanted something romantic and classy and that's what we got coming here. Service was excellent and attentive to our wants. My steak was grilled perfectly the way I like it, medium rare. We had seating right at the window looking out to the city lights. I would recommend this place to friends and family as well as fellow Yelpers as I had a wonderful date night with a wonderful person, great food, and easy parking in structure connected to building. Pricey but worth it."
"I quite like this place! Good food, nice service, quirky decor. Pretty good cheeseburger. Great Caesar salad. Nice mocktails. You probably won't get any internet connection in there, so ask for their Wi-Fi info. Parking a bit difficult."
"Nice contemporary bar. Great for sports, we came early and got breakfast burritos which was way better than it had any right to be. Lots of space and even a backyard patio. Average priced. Recommend"
"Super cute spot for brunch. I had the ricotta and honey with pistachio toast, I could eat it everyday!!! It was such a tummy combination. My little one had the chocolate chip pancakes, she loved them, so did I, not too sweet and fluffy but thin. My husband had some crabcakes, they were truly delicious. Simple food, but very fresh and delicious. The place itself is also very cute."
"Visited last night, perfect evening ambience, inside and outdoor seating, very nice, not too big and noisy in a Saturday night. Parking sucks but it's well worth the extra walking. I appreciate the classy small business vibes, the healthy and high quality food options, clean bathrooms, and the casual atmosphere was exactly what we needed. Order at the counter, pick your table, they bring you your food but you get your own flatware, napkins, water, leftover containers, etc.We had the beef entree (can't remember the names) and Asian chicken entree, and the beets and salad appetizers. All tasted amazing! While not cheap, it's definitely in the sweet spot of value - good portion sizes so that we had leftover portions for a second meal. We are so happy we found this little gem!"
"What a hidden gem. Easy to get to with valet & self-parking option, however they're the same price. Great for a date, business meal, or friend catch up. The ambiance both inside and on the patio are incredible. It's gorgeous with greenery and low lights. Also not excessively loud.Great, welcoming staff. Our server had some good menu suggestions for us. The drinks were incredible. The Earth, Wind & Fire was a necessity and arrived at the table on fire. Easy to do a mix of staters and mains family style here. The daily sashimi & sourdough were excellent starters. Sourdough is fresh baked. Also started with the kale salad, crispy jidori chicken and crispy pork belly. All were great. The honey sauce on the side of the chicken is to die for. The black cod also came on fire and was absolutely delicious. The Japanese yams taste more like a dessert than a side. For dessert the miso donuts are good but the matcha crème brûlée was the real winner."
"Love this place! It's run by the same company that owns Houston's if you've ever been there. They're great at consistently good American food, mostly grilled meat and fish options, although they really have a little bit of everything. One thing they're known for, but don't always advertise on their menu is their grilled artichokes. They have to be in season and available because they source them from this one special farm that grows delicious baby artichokes. I would definitely ask your waiter if you enjoy artichokes, they come out really tender and a little smoky from the grill and they're served with a delicious aioli. The restaurant is great for apps and steaks. I always get the spinach artichoke dip with tortilla chips because it always hits the spot. Their sushi is good too, I liked the spicy tuna which came with some roe on top. Last time I tried the deviled eggs which were creamy and delicious. As a main, I ordered the salad with grilled chicken as I was so overindulged with the apps I wanted something lighter for a main course. From past experience, if you like red meats, I would recommend their ribeye, Filet Mignon, & New York Strip as they're all delicious and they know how to grill their meats. They come out very well seasoned and cooked just to how you like them. Their service is excellent. All the waiters are super attentive and very friendly. The restaurant is dimly lit with nice decor and spacious bathrooms. A great place for a celebration dinner or just a nice dinner with family & friends."
"Most important part of my review is to say a heartfelt thank you to Efrain. You are one of the GREAT ones! One of the kindest and most attuned people I've ever met working in service. This is not an exaggeration, people. I'd like to give him a huge hug and thank the man again. The reason I am so incredibly impressed and touched by what he did was that it was so perfectly timed and he knew exactly what would help. This morning my husband (on crutches post knee surgery) and myself (very pregnant, and lugging everything for our toddler) walked in for breakfast while our little one was having quite a morning (read: crying, screaming, not having any of it). Before anything else even- he smiled, greeted us, helped us get situated and immediately got my baby some food.... Jaw DROPPED. Like we didn't even order yet- but we had some fruits and berries and potatoes for her!!! She was clearly hangry. Immediately started eating, smiled, giggled - a complete reversal. Now, mind you this baby had a huge breakfast not more than 50 min ago- so I was flabbergasted- and also so touched by this humane gesture, I had to yell it from a mountain (Yelp lol). I know it may not seem like a lot to some people- but this kind deed reminded me that there are GOOD people out there- and we are so lucky to have met one - Efrain- you ROCK!!! In addition- the food was great, everyone else was lovely and helpful!"
"Came here during a photo walk and ordered the burger and my sister ordered the chicken sandwich. Let me tell you the food was amazing. The service was great. Highly recommend."
"Went to this one by mistake not realizing it wasn't the one closer to universal studios.Seemed smaller than the other but had the same menu.Sausage redemption is my go to sandwich, had it with egg white this time.No tea but I've tried the tea at the other location and liked it. Worth a try."
"There's no way the Rooftop would be less than five stars and five star service! My boyfriend and I went twice in 2024 and both experiences were like night and day because, we went once during a summer's day and once during a winter's night. Reservations are easily available through Opentable and parking is exclusively valet. Take the elevator to the top and go nuts looking at that view! Walk by that pool and Cabana...and get seated with a lovely view. For our daytime meal, he got a keto style salmon salad and I enjoyed my exquisite Benedict. Coffee and drinks were amazing, as was the service. For our nighttime double date, we noshed on some Guacamole with plantains before our meals. He had the Chicken Katsu as I got the Chicken Shwarma - served in pita breads presented like tacos! They were a bit dry, but I still enjoyed them. Last were sorbets which are amazing and don't disappoint! Try to make room for these before you go. And I know, I'll be back again!"
