Judy W. "Joe's Pizza is a cut above. The owner hand tossed our crust himself. That's what he does for his customers. It's a touch of class and it means something. We ordered a pepperoni pizza, but he insisted we should try the meat lovers as half of our large pie. The meat lovers includes pepperoni, sausage and meatballs. The meatballs are made fresh everyday, then marinated overnight, he explained. How could we say no? The thin crust pie we enjoyed was cooked perfectly. The tangy sauce and chewy crust blended beautifully with each other and the meats are superb. I was so impressed. The meatballs are old school, dense and loaded with flavor. The same day that we had this pizza we went to a birthday party. That evening, we were talking about how much we enjoyed that delicious pizza. We expressed how everything was first rate, the manager, the meatballs, etc. A couple we befriended that night heard what we were saying and asked about where this place was located. Apparently, this couple has eaten there several times and absolutely loves it! They also said that they have tried the lasagna and ever since trying it once, they never order anything else! Now I can't wait to go back and try the lasagna! So glad to find this place! You won't be disappointed it's the best New York pizza this side of New York !"

Evan W. "First time back to Pace in a while, and it's even better than before. We were seated on the covered, heated patio, which was very comfortable despite the restaurant being "Saturday night busy." This was a surprise, as we came on a whim without a reservation, and were originally told we would be seated at a communal table -- but the friendly Host found us a 2-top, and we still had a nice time chatting with the people seated next to us. In addition to the great care we received from the Host, our waiter was very attentive and took very good care of us from start to finish. Something new to us, given that it's been a couple of beats since we dined at Pace, they've now gotten a full liquor license. Their cocktail list is very interesting, and I'll make my way through the options soon enough -- but this time I was in the mood for a traditional Gin martini, and they whipped up a perfect specimen, served with blue cheese olives and just the right chill. A simple appetizer of olives and pecorino was a great, light accompaniment to the cocktails and fresh baguette that came hot from the oven. For mains, my wife ordered her favorite: the cedar plank salmon with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Garlicky and herbaceous, with a squeeze of lime, the salmon has a terrific balance of spice and citrus, making the entree somehow substantial and light at the same time. I ordered the Mamma G's Pizza, which is topped with homemade pork sausage, caramelized fennel & fresh mozzarella. The crust was light and crispy, and the toppings were packed with flavor -- the sausage was lean and meaty, and the caramelized fennel added a nice, Earthy sweetness. This is an excellent pizza that may have to move into the "appetizer for the table" slot the next time we visit with other people. Pace is a bustling and convivial place to dine, with a genial staff and fellow customers that are poised to have a good time. The atmosphere is calming despite the bustle thanks to muted lighting and a communal warmth that edges into every corner of the space. There are many lovely options on the menu, so make a plan to go soon and enjoy."

As we pulled up and parked in the front I noticed the opportunity for a cute romantic date night lol. So I told my husband my plan and he agreed. We sat in front per our request and they were so nice to us. Lighting our candle bringing us our pizza and cappuccinos and it was way more fun than eating it at home in front of the tv. This cool ~63°F evening, was still pleasant to sit in the "patio" area. It's a glass exterior wall, with better light (not much of an outside view). The chairs are "okay" for comfort. One side of the table is a booth bench. SERVICENice. Uneven. We were a little early (5pm Sunday) and there were plenty of tables available, but I think the kitchen was in the weeds. Our server only showed up for our order. We flagged down others for drinks and check. Everyone was nice. Just a little overwhelmed. Our table neighbors has been here before, and remarked the experience for them was different (better) the previous time they visited. They had to wait a while for their check. FOODGluten Free pasta!Really good. My wife doesn't have a severe allergy. The server did check to find out her tolerance. PASTA PUTTANESCA (GF)Really nicely cooked pasta (I can't remember if it was corn or rice pasta) SUPER SUPER GARLICS. I was jealous. MUSHROOM RAVIOLIMeh. Few, Thin ravioli with barely any mushroom or mushroom flavor. Sauce is flat and kinda bland. My fault tho - asked for server's opinion. They were unfamiliar with "vegetarian" section of the menu. We were sectioned in the back and it was much more intimate , quiet, and ideal. The front house is pretty loud in comparison. No hard alcohol, but wine and beer are available. We ordered everything. From the carrots, wild mushroom, and bread as an appetizer, along with the gem lettuce salad, to ordering 3 pastas and a dessert. Everything was shareable. The roasted carrots were out of this world. One of the best things I've eaten in a long time. The wild mushrooms followed. We ordered the rigatoni timballo (eggplant pasta/lasagna), tonnarelli cacio e pepe with a 63 Celsius egg (what a flex of perfection) along with the torchetti. Pastas are made in house, but hands down the torchetti was the winner. We had beer and wine and we followed our meals with their olive oil cake. Amazing. Memorable. Highly recommend Union for dates, birthdays, boujee dinners, and anniversaries. Everything was decadent, delicious, heavenly. Thank you Union for a lovely evening."

I love the open kitchen where you can see them prepping the food.I tried the Chicken Battuta Panino and it was prepared really well. The chicken breast was moist, the avocado gave it a nice creamy texture, the crispiness from the bacon gave it a nice texture without overpowering it, and the ciabatta was light enough to hold it together. I tried some of my other friends' food and it had the same style to it. We liked this place so much that we can back the next day to try some more of their food. I tried the Hanger Steak Piadina and it also did not disappoint. The steak was cooked to a nice medium, it broke apart on every bite, not leaving pieces meatless areas in the panino and the simple flavors of the argula and cherry tomatoes were complementing. The food didn't taste heavy and was very well prepared. The staff is all super friendly and they even remembered us from the previous day. The food did not take long to come out either. Seating is limited here with maybe 10 seats inside, a front and rear patio. Bethany J. "Our first time here on a beautiful Saturday late afternoon. We had reservations for 3:15PM. We arrived at this beautiful hotel where the restaurant is on the rooftop. The view is spectacular. It's really nice the way they have the seating because you can be sitting inside and still have a great view from your table or you can sit on the outside. It's a view of the city all the way to the mountains where you can see the Hollywood sign. The ambience of the restaurant is very colorful yet chill with its warm tones of greens and beige, and the velvet booth gave me that old Hollywood glam meets jungle vibe, if that makes sense. It's elegant yet animalistic jungle vibes with the decor . You had your golds and cremes and greens all tired well together. They also had a dj who was in the ones and twos jamming as we walked up to the hosted stand, i was already dancing lol. It was nice because the music was just loud enough for you to jam too and still have a conversation with the person across the table. The service was good. One thing i will say is that we started with one server and then he just disappeared and didn't say anything so we had to ask another server and turns out he had taken over for him, but neither one told us, so I would have to say they can work on their communication when it comes to that but that's the only flaw of the whole day. Otherwise everything was fabulous. Food was great. We had the Dante burger, which was excellent and it's their signature and it did not disappoint. The Dante Martini was the best martini I've ever had and my boyfriend thinks so as well and the whiskey sour was perfect. Overall excellent experience for our first time we will definitely be back. Oh and by the way, they had a martini cocktail hour when we arrived so we'll have to go back for that."

The staff aims to please, multi-tasking as greeters, waiters, and cocktail makers. One unique entree is the Penne al Saffron tossed with sausage and broccoli in a golden cream sauce.Starters include the Pasta e Fagioli and Zucca soup along with a special of the day, usually a silky zuppa, like the pureed green bean and potato soup, a smooth and velvety pallet pleaser. Elaine N. "Left dinner last night and fiance and I agreed - this could have easily been a 5 star meal had service been better. We came here last night for Valentine's Day and despite the food being wonderful, service was so slow & unorganized, which put a damper on our experience unfortunately. We arrived on time for our reservation and waited a few minutes at the hostess stand before someone came and escorted us to our table. Right away as we were seated, things were already unclear - there were 2 menus on the table, 1 of which was a prefixe menu for Valentine's Day, the other which was a normal menu. The server told us if we didn't order from the prefixe menu that each of us would still need to order 3-4 courses each from the regular menu. The server left before we could ask any questions and we were just a bit confused as there were several different categories of food on the main menu and we didn't know which categories we'd be required to order from. We tried to get someone's attention to ask questions and when we finally did get someone they said they didn't really know. Eventually our server came and we asked him to clarify and he told us that as a table we just needed to order $100 minimum worth of food. He took our order (he memorized it/didn't write it down) and when he repeated it back to us it was incorrect. Totally not a big deal at all, but I noticed throughout the night this happened to several other customers and it made me wonder why he didn't just write the orders down. Our food came out very slowly (the entire meal took us over 2 hours) but everything was delicious. The complimentary bread and oil were so flavorful!Unfortunately, there were many other moments throughout the night where service was lacking & the staff seemed so confused and disorganized. I found myself making eye contact with staff multiple times whenever I would need help with something and they would look at me, then look away. We had dirty plates stacked on our table and the server would come to wipe off the table right next to us but never bothered taking our plates. It took us SO long to get our check and when we flagged down the attention of staff to hand over our credit card, the server looked so confused. I completely understand that it was Valentine's Day and that the staff was probably overwhelmed, but toward the end of our meal when we were waiting for our check more than half of the inside of the restaurant was already empty. The workers were really nice though, and as someone who rarely complains about service or leaves a bad review for service, I felt compelled to share about my experience because it did really impact our meal. All in all - genuinely very delicious food, and if the service would improve this restaurant could easily be a 5/5."

Their menu didn't have a ton of breakfast-y options, there was a shakshuka, crab cake benedict and a French toast that should not be missed. You could add an egg to other dishes like the burger or their sauced-up fries so that makes up for it as long as you aren't too traditional during brunch. They offer a 90 minute drink special, all you can drink for the price of about 2 cocktails, which is a thoughtful offering given the high prices of the area! It's available whenever they are open too, so I will definitely keep them in mind for happy hour. The food and drinks are great but what makes it so special is the vibe, it's very energetic but relaxed at the same time. Friendly, unpretentious service. Plus I love the tunnel entryway and courtyard covered with bougainvillea. Definitely recommend for a variety of occasions."
