Caesar salad with wilted, brown-edged lettuce, calamari that tasted stale and undercooked. Basically yuck. Maybe it's better at dinner but I don't think I'll take a chance."

Norge Y. "PROS: Good food. Good drink. Good prices. Happy Hour daily 12pm-6pm that includes both food and drink at great prices. Small adjacent parking lot plus street parking. Patio. Burgers/sandwiches and bread pudding are excellent. I like the acoustic ceiling which dampens sound so it doesn't get super loud even when it's busy. That's a big plus for me. CONS: Service was occasionally inattentive but always very friendly. There's currently a 2.9% living wage charge added to the bill. It's a 4.5 from me bumped up because I'd like to go back regularly."

The others got egg sandwiches, steak and eggs, and the apple French toast. The skinny studio heat, basil fizz, and espresso martini were all great.Service was good-- the staff rounded the table frequently to check in and were friendly. The outside patio is covered and a great area to sit to enjoy the fresh air!"

With plenty of TVs, you won't have a bad spot in the house to catch a game. The food is typical bar food in my opinion, but if you're here, your not here for the food anyway. You most likely are here with a friend grabbing a beer or drink and catching a game. The service is good here too! Everyone was friendly despite it being busy. Would recommend to anyone wanting to watch a game with a fun crowd in DTLA."

There are many bars to visit inside and a cigar lounge in the basement. The bartenders were really friendly and did a great job considering how busy the event was. I ordered a Prosecco thinking I was going to get a tiny glass but it was huge especially for the price. It was delicious as well. I will definitely be back next time I'm looking for a fun night out."

You'll get a lot more food for a reasonable price. The skewers were still delish though, just note you have to buy a drink for the dollar skewers deal.Ambiance is great, dim lighting but not too dim & writing all over the walls gives the place a fun vibe. Seriously the wings are so good, the tots never miss, and don't even get me started on the Pork and Pickle sliders!!They have a lovely cocktail selection of custom "nerd" themed cocktails. The entire staff are lovely people, and the owner John is fantastic. He is always focused on the entire place, making sure things are running smoothly. They have a plethora of events too, weekly! I go for trivia AND karaoke. Nothing beats a classic dive bar with red vinyl booths and a disco ball! Especially when it's a small business! Would definitely recommend giving it a shot :)"

Monika I. "We came here to celebrate my friend's birthday cause she really enjoys Karaoke and Korean food. We started out by having dinner at the outdoor patio area because it was easier to eat at the table than inside the karaoke room even though the waiter also gave us options to eat inside. We ordered Army Stew, Spicy Chicken, and Tonkatsu. Since the food portion here was generous, we were able to share them among 4 of us and it was pretty filling. We all really loved the Army Stew and Tokatsu. After dinner, we moved inside to the Karaoke room and stayed for 2hours there. We also ordered some beers and flavored soju for some awesome soju bomb. The karaoke machine and remote are all in Korean, but the waitress gave us a written instructions in English to help us navigate it. We were able to find all the song we were looking for without any problems. There are plenty of parking spots right outside of the patio dining area. Overall, everyone had a good time!"

Ashley T. "I popped into Gray Tavern on a Sunday, looking for a chill spot to grab a bite, a drink, and soak in the vibes. We were in luck--it was Happy Hour, so we decided to try a few things. We ordered three items from the Happy Hour menu, along with two cocktails: the GoldenBoy and the HotShot Margarita. Both drinks hit the spot--the GoldenBoy had a smooth, golden sweetness with just the right kick, while the HotShot Margarita packed a spicy punch that balanced the citrusy tang perfectly. For food, all three Happy Hour bites didn't disappoint. Each dish was fresh, flavorful, and well-portioned for sharing. We couldn't resist adding an order of Wagyu sliders from the main menu, and they were hands-down the highlight. Juicy, tender, and bursting with rich flavor, the sliders were cooked to perfection.Overall, the vibe was relaxed yet lively--a great spot for a laid-back Sunday outing. If you're in the area during Happy Hour, it's definitely worth stopping in for a good time and some delicious bites.Ps A special thanks to Edgar for his hospitality. His new management of the Grey Tavern is going to be awesome--he really knows how to create a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere."

The first one I get is the octopus that's on a hot pan with rice! It's amazing! And I don't even like seafood in general, but when it's good I appreciate it even more. My go to dish is their kimchi pork belly soup, it is the standard! All the food here tastes home cooked. I've never been disappointed. The service is second to none. I'm always taken care of. The service of quick and friendly. They're usually busy but always find the time to make you feel welcomed. The ambiance is great! The location itself is in a busy shopping center with valet. Megan L. "I absolutely love this place! I've been coming here for 15 years and it never disappoints. During Covid they opened a little outdoor patio area that is super cute. It has a bunch of communal tables, is dog friendly, tvs for watching the games and a cute little airstream trailer that as their outdoor bar. The inside is darkly lit and can get pretty packed and loud when it gets going but is just as fun. The appetizers have a pretty good range, my favorites being the bacon brussel sprouts, artichoke dip, and ceviche. I'm personally not a huge pretzel fan but my friends all say it's one of the best so if that's your thing I'd recommend that one as well. For entrees the spicy chicken sandwich is really good but my favorite is the backyard burger. They have three type of fries and I was lean towards the garlic Parmesan version. Make sure to ask for them crispy as they can come out a little soggy if you don't. For drinks they have a full bar and limited options for wine. My favorite cocktail is the spicy hibiscus margarita. It's the perfect blend of flavors!I've come during the day with the dogs and at night with friends and the vibe is always on point. I'll be continuing to come for years!"

The energy is very welcoming and festive. We were greeted and served by Micaela (Mgt. she is an excellent crew member) who recommended the Pub Chips. The Pub Chips were one of the best appetizers that I have ever had. They are large, crispy and delicious! Look at my photos. They came with BBQ sauce and house sauce which went very well with the Pub Chips. We had a chicken Sandwich that was juicy and very crispy on the outside. It was large and it came with a large basket of fries. The Fish and chips came with an excellent tarter sauce and malt vinegar. They were soft on the inside and a golden textured crispy on the outside. Yes, I can highly recommend them. We will be back to have more Pub Chips and try out the Jalapeno Quesadilla."

Albert L. "For gamers, board game aficionados, and casual guests alike, Guildhall is as much of a great gastropub as it is a very welcoming space for those who like a bit of geekiness with their nights out. As someone who loves video games, it was awesome to see streamers being broadcast on the gastropub's televisions and images of Smash Bros. characters adorn the outside patio area. As a "Legend of Zelda" fan, I geeked out at a replica Master Sword being hung by one of the larger TVs and I definitely treated myself to a "Heart Container" mocktail which was a pleasant, sweet blend of coconut cream, lemon, and pineapple juice.Other than having a great selection of board games, Guildhall provides enough table space to play those games as well as other forms of games. I love how inviting Guildhall was in the sense that it's built to encourage people to sit down, stay, and have some fun with friends. It also helps the food here is pretty good as well as I thought the sweet potato tater tots were some of the best I've ever had...and the garlic fries were pretty darn good as well! Overall, it's really nice to be at a place where a big, diverse crowd of people are coming to have wholesome fun with their friends. Carlo B. "I went to Tam O' Shanter with my friends for DineLA, thinking it would be a great chance to try another spot under Lawry's Restaurants Inc. Dining at Lawry's has always been a hit for me, so I figured this place would be solid too. The interior definitely has a nice Scottish influence-warm, cozy, and welcoming in appearance. But unfortunately, that's where the welcoming feeling ended. From the moment we checked in with the hostess to when we left, there was zero warmth in the service.Even our server was all business with us, while the table next to us got the friendly, engaging treatment. We had to flag the server down multiple times just to get a simple water refill. The food? Disappointing. I ordered the Tam O' Shanter cut, medium rare, expecting that signature Lawry's-level prime rib, but it was completely bland-honestly, l've had better at a Hometown Buffet. And it wasn't just mine; my friends felt the same way. One even had to douse theirs in seasoning just to get some flavor out of it. The side dishes were the saving grace-the spinach and mashed potatoes were great-but they weren't the reason we came.Maybe I set my expectations too high, but I also didn't expect to leave disappointed. Safe to say, next time, I'll just stick to Lawry's-same company anyway, so they're not losing my business. LOL."

For appetizers, I got their loaded potatoes ($12) which come with 3 small halved potatoes (8/10), it was just a regular loaded potato, but I really enjoyed the flavor and cheese ratio! I was able to try their strawberry and sour apple martinis as well (non-alcoholic version); the strawberry wasn't too sweet (9/10) and the sour apple was definitely on the more sour side (6/10).You do have to pay for parking and most of the area is street parking, but there are several parking garages as well."

It was also very lively, they were playing Throwback R&B/Hip Hop/Soul like Usher etc which was amazing. Food: We got Calentado - Rice w. pulled pork, pork belly, blacks beans, egg, green onions, cilantro, and chopped plantains. They also give you a spicy sauce if you want to make it spicy and I LOVED this dish! It was sweet and savory, the pork was tender and flavorful, and the hot sauce took it to the next level! Getting this everytime honestly.BeatsJunkie Loco Moco - this was a different take on the usual Loco Moco so I was interested to try. It's a carne asada burger patty with fried spam and a chorizo sauce, on top of a bed of coconut rice. This also came with plantains. It was good! But I don't think I'd repurchase this one as it was pretty heavy for a brunch meal for me.Red Snapper- this wasn't bad but I found it to be a little too salty for me Passion Fruit Mimosa & Mango Chile Mimosa - we got bottomless; you can get a tajin rim if you want which is nice, but these drinks weren't strong like at all.
