We would ask for the check, see the total, and just paid & tip. Yesh, depending on which server...the services can be meh. Even so, we always have such a great time here. The foods always hit the spot. The broth is always flavorful. They don't really marinate the meats, but once we grill it..the taste? AMAZING!They offer free rice, porridge, and tea. The fried chicken! Mm so delicious! Even after 1 hr of travel, the skin was crispy and meat juicy! The spam, fish, and katsu misubi..... delicious! I am accustomed to the small ones. These are a nice size, super filling!!! The combination vermicelli noodles, so yum! Theyre lightly seasoned and it gives enough room for you to add what you want. We came in on a Thursday night, and had to wait for 30 mins, which tells you how busy it gets. The banchan spread is delicious, and buffets style. I got rice, radish, kimchi, ginger and jalapjalapeño and everything was amazing. We also get the brisket, pork belly and bulgogi for the meat, and those were all delicious and pair well with the banchan. Overall cannot recommend this place enough!"

Brian L. "Kkondae is the latest addition to the infinitely long list of Korean BBQs in Koreatown. I'm sure it's a tough business to be in with so much competition, but Kkondae seems to hold its own and is definitely a solid option. They seem to specialize in pork belly and pork cuts, although they also have beef options. You can order a la carte or choose a combo. I recommend saving yourself the hassle and just going with one of the combos. Combo A is an all pork option and Combo B is a mix of pork and beef. We went with combo A, and between the cuts of pork, the soup, egg, and the fried rice at the end, it was enough food for 2-3 people. The meat was good quality and everything was solid overall. They cook everything for you and the service was super attentive and excellent, especially considering that they opened recently. Not much more you could want from a Korean bbq. Also for any drinkers... the soju is a bargain compared to other places at $11 a bottle. 5 stars for both the food and the service!"

Matt V. "I can confidently say this is the best Korean barbecue experience I've ever had, and I live near Westminster and been to K town plenty. Forget the high end places that bring out your meats from a menu. While the interior might feel minimalist, that simplicity is part of the charm--it keeps the focus entirely on the food and service, which are both outstanding. The LA Galbi is the best I've had, the beef belly was great and bulgogi. The grill setup seemed more traditional and it never needed to be turned up or down; amazing. The self-serve aspect is fantastic, with a condiment bar that's an absolute highlight. From the perfectly seasoned banchan to the fresh vegetable sides, every detail is thoughtfully prepared. But the true star of the show? The service. My server, Daniel, was hands-down the best I've ever had in my life. His kindness, attentiveness, and generosity elevated the entire experience. Without me even asking, he brought out cold noodles, onion salad, and other delicious condiments that paired perfectly with the meal. It was like he anticipated my every need before I even knew it.To top it off, I ended the meal with an incredible pumpkin porridge--sweet, comforting, and the perfect finish to an amazing feast. For the price, the quality is unbeatable, and I genuinely can't recommend this place enough. If you're lucky enough to have Daniel as your server, rest assured you'll be in great hands. This place has officially set the bar for Korean barbecue!ALSO, I've never had Sikhye before holy crap. He gave it to me after the meal it tastes like horchata but better! Look it up and try it. The meat here is so filled with flavor and juicy, it's just wonderful~! Various cuts of pork which they have a cute little guide to eating with it! My personal favorite way to go is to try it ALL the suggested ways - plain, with salt, with various sauces, with various banchans, with myeong-yi (my personal fav) and with my second fav ----Grilled cheese! Basically it is the most brilliant and tasty thing of all time. You can get a combo that includes this cheese for grilling or add it for $10. Simple and well worth having the for bites of meat with cheese. I'm a cheeseaholic so I hope whoever is dining with me took their lactaid. Feed me all the dairy!Service was very good by the way. Great staff and all is cooked for you.I was really excited about the risotto! But...I dislike jalapenos and it's a very jalapeno heavy dish. My friend however loved it!~ So...I wish an option to have this without jalapenos was offered *winkwink* or some other style of spice. This is a Sarah problem, I realize, because like I said my friend loved the creaminess of the risotto - so no stars knocked lolz.Everything here just feels premium compared to other spots. I mean you get a little description of the pork you're eating. Sheesh, so cool~! I'm a big Sookdal fan. Cindy S. "Ham Ji Park is a Korean restaurant thatis known for their Pork Spare Ribs (Dwaeji Galbi) and Pork Neck Bone Stew (Gamjatang); Other traditional Korean menu items are available as well. The following was what I ordered: Their signature Dwaeji Galbi (Pork Spare Ribs): These were unbelievably delicious, and some of the tastiest pork ribs I've ever had! The charred savory meat was tender, yet still with a slight of bite to it; the flavors were garlicky, sweet, but not too sweet with a touch of heat from the gochujang marinade. Loved the nice caramelization/glaze on the ribs - it's comes out served on a sizzling plate on a bed of grilled onions. A must try! Ham Ji Park's known for Gamjatang (Pork Neck Stew with Potatoes), so we had to order it. The pork itself I thought was very meaty and super tender. The broth tasted of a hint seafood base of some sort, boiled down aromatics of garlic/onions, and thick of pepper paste, but NOT that spicy. A hearty stew! I would have loved more green onions and traditional perilla leaves to cut out the richness. Overall, I'd order it again. Must have with rice and/or Soju! Fermented Soy Bean Soup With Tofu, Veggies & Pork: Has a deep flavor from similar to miso but more pungent or smoky (in a good way). There are dried tiny anchovies in this dish. My kids enjoy it. Beef Kalbi: I would NOT order this again. Wasn't the best, however, in all fairness the waiter did tell me that they aren't known for "beef". We got it anyways and regretted it. Under seasoned and tough beef meat are what come to mind. Ban Chan (Side Dishes): I wish the sides were better. It would have been a nice option as palate cleanser to the heavy meat dishes we ordered. Instead, Ban Chan sides were either too salty or sour and their house salad was over drenched in dressing. Perhaps a fluke on this visit. Service was awesome and helpful! Instructions were given on how to reheat our leftovers and takeout -thanks guys. Also, the guys mentioned that Weekdays aren't as busy during early/late afternoon. Peak times are weekends and dinner service. Parking: Can be found along 6th street metered (good luck); or Parking structure (valet only) on Catalina and 6th ($5). I recommend the valet!"

One saw our scissors drop on the floor and before we had to ask for a fresh pair, he already brought one over.Beff tartare was flavorful and "filling" cause it's hard for the body to digest raw meat. But it was seasoned so well with sesame oil, it reminded me of eating poke. The Ramen instant noodle end was bomb. They add so much additional ingredients like bulgogi beef and fresh veggies. Thought they were only going to bring out a packet for us to cook. But they go above and beyond to already bring it over cooked with extra peppery seasoning. It's a huge pot that could serve 4 easily, so have room in your stomach!Love how there is scallops on the menu.Cooked on a pretty shell with lots of sauce. The sauce offering is robust and the chimichurri is amazing. But by the time we left around 7:15pm it got pretty busy. So they have a no tipping rule here, but they charge a 10% "fee" to cover their operations. Interestinggggg. I actually really liked our waitress Karla who was spectacular the whole night, but we didn't have the option to tip her. The three of us shared a Small Beef Combo ($82), Grilled Beef Tongue ($35), Yogurt Soon Hari ($13), Chamisul Fresh ($13), and a Terra ($8). The Beef Combo includes Thin Sliced Prime Brisket, Prime Beef Boneless Short Rib, Beef Finger Rib and Marinated Beef Oyster Steak. Rice paper and radish paper were already on the table when we arrived. All of their combos include pine mushroom, soybean paste soup with beef brisket, old fashioned green onion salad, romaine salad and steamed egg. The cooking pace was a smidge fast since we came in when they weren't busy yet. Very attentive and on top of things. The food was pretty good. I prefer Baekjong for a similar experience, but not bad. We all enjoyed the prime beef boneless short ribs the most with its' marbling cut. We said if we came back we would probably just stick with that cut. It was about $60/person after we split the bill. I've been to this place a few times to grab their chicken, BBQ pork, or roast duck. I remember their chickens were super plump and full of flavor. Meaning they were bigger than your Sam Woos; however time has changed. It's a good place to go if you're looking for BBQ roast pork or chicken. This restaurant is located in El Monte on Peck Road, right across from Ocean Bo (the place that sells dim sum) and Mana Tea House. The parking there can get really busy and the parking spots are really narrow. Especially during the lunch rush, the parking lot can get really packed. The service there is good, since I ordered to go I can't say about their wait service. Food comes out piping hot and smells so delicious. On this visit, I ordered Beef Chow Fun (dry style), Braised Tofu, Orange Peel Chicken and the Fish Filet in Black Bean Sauce. Also, as a bonus for their lunch special includes a box of complementary white rice. Most dishes on the menu are $9.99 or under.Overall it was a pleasant visit and the food was good. Especially if you're super hungry, it hits the spot just right. My only sad downside is that the boxes are not packed full like other restaurants. There was not a lot of fish filet in the Fish Filet Black Bean Sauce or a lot of chicken in the Orange Peel Chicken Dish. I guess times are tough and our dollars don't go as far anymore. The food is great, I just hoped for more food. The verdict, definitely coming back to try more dishes!"
