This review is for the Bob and Grandma's at the Hollywood farmers market. The line was long but it moved fairly quickly. We got a regular baguette and a barbari. Both are amazing! Highly recommend!

I had a lovely time at Bub And Grandmas, with one huge caveat. The ambiance, vibe, and service were all terrific. Relaxed, friendly, and a bit hipster without hitting you over the head with it. Some of what we ordered was very good, especially the bread and butter appetizer. The bad: I had their seemingly very popular Tuna Melt, and it was extremely, almost unbearably salty. I'm not the sort of person who frequently finds anything too salty. Love salty. But this was like a 13 out of 10 in terms of saltiness; I had to put it down and take a drink of water after every bite type of thing. Beyond that, the overall food experience was unexpectedly mixed. I felt like each individual component of my sandwich and my partners cheeseburger were solid. Good bread and rolls, good quality of meat, good condiments. But, somehow, the overall experience of each bite was weirdly sub-par and underwhelming. I loved the vibe, service, and live music enough that I'll probably go back again one more time. Hopefully this was just an off-night. (It's a tough time in LA right now, and none of us are at our best.)

Tried the Italian and the curry chicken salad! The Italian was 10/10, so flavorful, classic, and the bread was so soft and fresh! The bread on the curry chicken salad was also amazing. I'd say the bread brings the sandwich to its well deserved ratings. Curry chicken salad was more mild in flavor but very fresh tasting. Both solid choices.I would definitely return! The interior is so cute, very trendy diner vibes. Seems like a great place for breakfast, brunch, or lunch. The service is welcoming, attentive, and kind. Street parking is available in surrounding neighborhood.

Back again for lunch - tried the brisket sandwich and potato chips ... delicious! And also the tried and true tuna - so yummy. Love this place and especially the breads.

Was so excited to try this place and I'm glad I did - but not coming back anytime soon though sadly. The sandwiches were good but overpriced. Parking can be a bit challenging. Cold brew was okay. Service was decent.

Perhaps one of La's finest. From the bread to the stuff that goes inside bubs has a 100% success rate with this frequent visitor. You can't go wrong with a single menu item and there might not be a better way to begin your day. Weekend or weekday you'll find some of the most fashionable impressionable youngsters mingling with the old heads all agreeing over bubs spectacular sandwich presentation. Just when I thought it couldn't get better my color-coordinated server Poy knocked my socks out of the park with an orange wine grand slam. See you at Bubs, I'll be here.

Torn between a 4 and a 5 but ambience gave it a 5. Tuna sandwich was fresh and delicious, just nothing I would write home about. The meatloaf sandwich looked excellent and looks like an epic brunch place.

As someone who generally balks at spending more than $10 on a sandwich, I'd happily make an exception for Bub & Grandma's--and keep coming back for more. The bread here is top tier; if I could put a ring on that perfect piece of carb, I would. The tuna salad is spot-on, with a bright, fresh flavor from a hint of lemon. And the Morty D (aka the muffuletta) is simply divine--an absolute must-try.The place itself is filled with natural light and always packed, and for good reason. If you haven't been yet, go. Even if you're just stopping by to pick up a loaf of bread, do it!

Near my kids school, so I stopped by. I read that Bub and Grandma's supplies bread to some of the popular and trendiest restaurants in LA (the list is on their website), that would explain the LINE waiting to dine-in; and another line at the designated takeout window area. Am told weekdays at mid-week aren't so bad in terms of the crowd, but from Friday onwards it's very busy! The menu offers deli-style sandwiches, salads, toast, sides and fresh pastries. All American classic food with a modern touch. It's all about the bread here. There is a small full-service cute retro dine-in area; and outside walk-up window takeout counter. They are Mostly open for breakfast and lunch; however, on Sundays and Monday they have jazz night and an evening menu, if you want to check it out. Service: it's a busy spot. Servers are clearly doing the best they can and possibly overwhelmed. Alex was absolutely wonderful and welcoming; his coworkers not so attentive or helpful. Had to ask for the check multiple times and was clearly told yes, but ignored, not cool. Finally Alex to the rescue-thank you! Hit and miss on service. Gratuity starts at: 20%, 22%, and 25%. :) -street parking only- not sure if they take cash... bring a credit card.

What's not to love?! I'm happy every time I go. One of my favorite tuna sandwiches in the city, and I've had almost every other sandwich on the menu and always leave pleased. I love going and sitting with a book or bringing friends who've never been before for lunch. Such a good vibe inside, I never want to leave.
