*** Los Angeles Times 101 Best Restaurants (2024): #51 ***** James Beard Award Semifinalist (2025): Best New Restaurant **Located in East Hollywood, Bridgetown Roti is a Caribbean American restaurant featuring hand-rolled rotis, patties, and other various family recipes. What started as a pop-up in 2019 has grown into the (already) decorated restaurant as we know it today. After reading about this place on the LA Times 101 list, I knew I needed to stop in here. So, we decided to drive out this past Monday for dinner. To eat, the two of us split a Mom's Curry Chicken Roti and a Curry Shrimp Roti. Priced at $18 each, I found the price point reasonable given the taste and quality. I'll also note that these are quite easy to share, as they come conveniently cut in two equal halves. While I enjoyed both, I think my favorite of the two was the Curry Chicken. Service was friendly and quick. If in the area, I'd recommend stopping in for a meal.

Beautiful location, friendly staff members, and freshly prepared food and drinks. I thought the vegetarian roti was okay. I wish it that it was more filling with protein and vegetables or pickles on side as I didn't feel fully satiated after my meal even with the salad on the side. Maybe I need to try out something else next time. Either way, sweet place to enjoy a meal or a soda with friends or family! Ps - colorful space, eco friendly cutlery for dining in and take outs, water station to fill out bottle, and gender neutral bathrooms

I haven't had this good of a Roti since my visits to the greater Toronto area. Cute decor, small but very inviting with phenomenal service and the menu looks incredible. I had Mom's Curry Chicken Roti and an Oxtail and Pepper Patty(hand pie). I need to come back more and try the Vegan offering. Don't miss this place!

Parking for 13-30 minutes is allowed at the back, entrance is on Normal Ave. Right across from LACC. wasn't too crowded on a Wednesday night. No over-the-phone orders, only through their online website. Staff was niceSadly, their website glitch on me. I thought I ordered on the website, but when I arrived for pick-up, name wasn't there. Order didn't go through because an item wasn't available. So I just order in person. Waiting in person and according to their website, is 15 to 20 minutes. I thoughtThe ambiance is bright and colorful and eclectic and cute. More your casual eatery type. The food deserves 5/5 stars!! Jerk Chicken wings have a little bit of spiciness to them, with a squeeze of lime. The Red Pepper Goat Roti was so good, more delicious when warm! Juice drippings, potato-y softness. Plantains- super delicious, not your ordinary plantains, also seasoned with something spectacular.Oxtail and pepper patty was standard. A good additionLime pepper tomatillo was a good spice level for me. Paired well with the Roti and the Patty.

I tried them first when they were a pop up a couple years ago and now I tried them again at their very own storefront!!! so happy for them! the food here is so good and made with so much love and intention. it's a cute spot right across the street from LACC. we tried their jerk pork tostones which I hope sticks on the menu! it's one of the best tostones i've had in the city and it's so flavorful and spicy. highly recommend!!their patties and rotis are a must and what they're known for. oxtail patties and the curry goat roti was our go-to this time but i'm excited to explore more of their menu. we tried their coco limeade and soursap punch - both made in-house and is delicious! the service is so great and it was so nice chatting with the staff and chef malique on their story of building bridgetown roti with chef rashida. thank you guys!!note for parking - street parking can be pretty limited here but we found some on the residential side east of vermont!

Some friends and I were going to an album release party at the Vermont, but wanted to grab dinner first. There's not a lot of options around this area beyond fast food and eateries that close before dinnertime, but luckily friend found Bridgetown Roti. The place is not meant for large groups, but we must have lucked out with our timing Sunday evening, as we were able to seat all ten of us indoors. There's some tables outside too that can seat groups of 2 and 4.Friend and I didn't want food coma for the party later, so we split the curry shrimp roti in bowl form ($18) and the 8 oz half order of macaroni and cheese pie ($5). Love how environmentally friendly everything was - compostable bowls served on metal trays and metal cups for water from a provided glass dispenser and metal utensils. The food was delicious! I'm so glad friend and I split the meal so we weren't super full, but even if I hadn't, everything was light and not greasy at all (okay maybe the mac and cheese was a little greasy cause of the cheese)! The curry shrimp came with 5 pieces of shrimp that was seasoned well and grilled and went well with the aloo sofrito and slaw. Even though we ordered it as a bowl rather than a wrap, it still comes with the wrap on the side. The mac and cheese pie has ghost pepper as one of its ingredients, but it wasn't spicy at all. Frankly, the curry shrimp roti had a more of a spice kick than the mac and cheese pie, so don't worry about the mac and cheese pie if you are spice adverse.Other things that looked good that my friends ordered, but I didn't have any tummy room to try were the jerk cucumber salad and the green curry shrimp patty (similar to an empanada).Make sure to order first to get a number for your table if you plan to dine in. The employees there were so awesome and friendly. Love the entire atmosphere!Parking in this area is not the most fun. There's no dedicated parking lot, so your options are metered street parking with a 2 hour max. We found some spots north of LACC and parked there. And Bridgetown Roti was a 5 min walk from the Vermont so win win!

4.0/5.0 I'd only get this to-go, and I'd stick to the wrap only. The sides were disappTaste: The curry goat wrap was pretty good. The smashed cucumbers were really sad and disappointing, overpriced. The plantains were fine but overpriced for the amount you get, and the codfish cakes were also fine but way too expensive.Experience: The vibes are not great. It feels like a knock off chipotle, with cheap decor. The tables were so wobbly and poorly made. They're just a couple pieces of plywood slotted together.Mood Before/After: Excited before, disappointed after.Fullness: Full-ish. But I dropped a lot of money for the amount of food we received. What else did I eat/do today affecting my experience: Was chilling and hanging with good friends so we were in a good mood.

Ordered to go and loved every bite! Was nervous that the macaroni pie was going to be dry but it was so flavorful and cheesy. The jerk cucumber salad was light and fresh. And the shrimp roti paired with mango sauce was amazing! Will definitely be coming back to try more on the menu.

Everything, delicious and the space is quite clean, nice and easy to dine in. The staff is extremely friendly and gave some solid recommendations. This is what we got for lunch to share between two people:Red pepper goat roti (18) - packed with flavor and sauces. I'm glad to share this with my partner because it was rich and delightful. Sufficient amount of meat and great portion.Oxtail Peppers Patty (8) - amazing texture and flavors. We added the mango and pineapple sauces which were both unique and packed some heat! Though I noticed they don't fill the sauce container to the top. But they dont need too, because a single drop adds so much. Also got the Curry Channa double (12) which were two very fluffy and pillowy taco-like "Caribbean tings." Excellent vegetarian option. Very flavorful and filling.I couldn't help myself and ordered an 8OZ Mac and Cheese (5) pie to go. And let me tell you, it was gooey and good even warmed up the next day!The place is a flavor bomb and the food is exceptional. The neighborhood was difficult to maneuver, but grateful there's a small lot in the back. Can't wait to go back!

This is a really cute and delicious place. The decor inside gives Brooklyn NY vibes. And we were greeted with the warmest and most beautiful smile by the woman taking our order.Smoked pineapple ginger beer 5/5. Delicious Ginger beer and had the strength of fever tree. The smoked pineapple was a nice touch and wasn't really spicy to me.Chicken curry roti 5/5: Very deliciously spiced flavor combination and perfect ratio of salt. It was a nice balance of meat and veggies.Shrimp Roti 3/5: The shrimp roti could have used a tad more salt but the spices were perfectly mixed in. Also, it seemed like there was 4 pieces of shrimp in the entire roti. So, it honestly taste more like a veggie roti which is fine if that's what I ordered but I didn't. So, I wont get this again. It's better to just get a veggie roti without the additional cost of the shrimp when it was scarcely there.Baked Macaroni pie 5/5: Super Duper Delicious. I loved the crispy top and it had some nice spices and scrumptious cheese pull. This was the best thing I've tried.
