Bread Lounge

Talk about hole in the wall. I was nearby waiting for a pop up to open and this bakery was my saving grace in the early hours of the morning. Four words: hazelnut espresso pound cake. Of course their pastries are amazing but the pound cake took the prize for me. Nice hints of espresso throughout each bite of cake and in fact, enhanced the hazelnut flavor. Their ham and cheese croissant was also delicious. The pastry was flaky and airy, just as a croissant should be. The cheese wasn't overwhelming and tied in nicely with a slice of ham. The location itself is on the corner of an unassuming street. Inside has some seating and a window into their bakery. If you're ever looking for a simple breakfast or a quick snack, this place is worth the visit.

Great bread lounge. Finally tried this place. Nothing fancy but affordable and tasty. Only few menu but the bread/cake is so good. You can ask them to warm it up from the kitchen. They served wholesale and restaurant to keep retail price decent. Located toward the edge of art district. Price is very decent especially with whole bread cake sandwiches compared to lots of other places. They have parking and patio seating at the back of the building, thru the side past main entrance. Nice few seating area inside. Used to be the kitchen they said.

I came here for an afternoon lunch on a Wednesday afternoon. Even at that time, parking was unavailable behind since the parking lot is super small. I ordered a ho barcelona hot sandwich that came with greens.The sandwich was delicious. There was a decent amount of chicken along with tomato spread + tomato chunks. The bread was soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. The addition of green sides helped with the heaviness of the sandwich. Overall, ~$15 was a reasonable price for the meal. The inside of the place was a cute industrial cafe with a window viewing their bread making area. I greatly enjoyed the food and will be back to try other items on their menu.

This is a Kanelbullar. It's not as sweet and cinnamon tasting as a cinnamon roll. Very delicate flavors. Soft, melt in your mouth pastry. Sticky outside. Just perfect. Guess what? It's the owner of the Bakery Lounge's favorite. I can taste why. The other photos show the workings of the bakery and it speaks to the fact that everything is made by them with their own special touch. The seating arrangement is informal. Sad disposable cups. But I highly recommend a visiting. The portions are good and freshly made. Yum.

I wanted to like this place and I went for the first time and was so disappointed in ordering and finding out there was olives on the Going Dutch sandwich,What a way to ruin my food says there's sun dried tomatoes on the menu description for the sandwich but I couldn't taste anything other than gross olives. I tried contacting them and they left me on hold and eventually hung up thanks for the terrible experience

I was working in the area for about a week and I came here almost every day. And I wish I was closer to here but I absolutely love this location. The staff here is incredible. I cannot say that enough. They were always friendly and always made my experience great. I love the pastries here (especially the pumpkin pie) I would find an excuse to "treat myself" every day just so I could get something. My favorite thing to get what the Jerusalem Bagel with the lox. It was so good. I cannot wait to come back here.

Came here for a quick lunch while I was working from a coffeeshop nearby. Bread Lounge has indoor and outdoor seating and was busy at 12 pm on a Thursday. Prices for food are average for LA. They have a variety of lunch options including sandwiches and salads. I got the East is East sandwich and it was a solid, healthy and filling lunch. My food was served quickly. Servers were friendly. The ambiance is very casual, lighting for indoor seating is kind of dim.

Was looking for a good quality bread, found this place.The service is good, the bakery, pastries were just okay, little bit on the dry side, and bread-got 1 olive bread, and other olive bread white.They were just average..

First time trying this place and I was very impressed ! Their featured sandwich was the turkey on ciabatta bread and it was outstanding ! The vegan tricolor was tasty as well but the best part were the Espresso brownies - I had two !! I will definitely be back

Thank you to Trader Joe's for introducing me to the best bread I've ever had! I am a former " chemical fluffy white bread" eater, who was not a fan of wheat bread until I discovered their country loaf. Our minds were blown when we realized that this bread is vegan and also made with whole wheat! This bread is a shining star on its own with a little pad of butter, or the perfect vessel for a homemade ham sandwich with random veggies that you have in your fridge,. We can't wait to try the restaurant and other products made by this incredible bakery!
