Boxwood is a relaxing and welcoming sort of hotel bar, calmer and far less chaotic than many other choices on the Sunset Strip. Bartenders are friendly and skilled, serving up top notch cocktails with a side of enjoyable gab. I ordered a martini and was asked if I preferred shaken or stirred. I'm not James Bond, but to me this meant they weren't interested in a short pour they make look bigger by watering down the gin. I. E. this is a good place to have a drink or 20. I wasn't eating, but folks around me were, and the food looked and smelled amazing. From my observations, the burger was thick and nicely charred while being a perfect medium on the inside. Another lady was digging into a mix of calamari and veggies, lightly fried and enticingly fragrant. I will be back to try both. Yes, boxwood is a calming, upscale respite on the strip. Definitely visit and enjoy.

Boxwood at The London has excellent food and drinks. A special thank you to the bartender Dakota as well as a server Luciano, who both made our stay at The London an especially wonderful experience. The ambience is upscale, trendy, and modern. During the day, there's plenty of natural sunlight. In the evening, there's an intimate feel.We ordered several different dishes throughout our stay at The London, including the burger, fries, fish tacos, and pineapple flan. All were delicious. In terms of drinks, Dakota provided phenomenal service and superb drinks. I recommend the spicy mango margarita on their specialty cocktail list, as well as a classic Old Fashioned. Or, ask Dakota what he recommends--everything he concocted was magnificent.I highly recommend visiting Boxwood during your stay at The London.

Made our reservation through DINE LA. Menu was great. Three course meal began with wonderful sourdough bread and butter. Then moved into a great Caesar Salad, followed by a fabulous beef short rib & Brussels sprout rosoto wood fired roasted beetroot mascarpone. The color on the plate was beautifully orchestrated to look very fancy. Our last plate was desert. It was a very rich chocolate cake. Had a few bites and was done. Great night, great dinner and close enough to walk to our destination The Viper room. Paid an extra hour and safely parked there.

We ate here for Thanksgiving. The prix fixe menu looked really great. Unfortunately the whole experience was a bust. We were asked to wait in the lounge as our table was prepared. We were met with random silverware on the floor in the lounge area which was off putting to start with. Shortly, we were led into the dining room from the lounge and immediately let down by how ugly, barren and terribly lit the dining room was. You would never know this dining room was in a nicely decorated hotel. It was a lot like the inside of a Denny's. There were no candles or arrangements on the tables - nothing to indicate this was a holiday dinner that cost over $100 a person. The lights were bright cool white, full blast overhead in semi-melted hanging lanterns that were absolutely pathetically out of place. It's like they renovated the hotel and got to this room and just stopped because it was out of their budget. It's strange because the bathroom within the dining room area matched the rest of the hotel. Our server was so kind and did her best but you could tell the place was short staffed and she was spread very thin. This resulted in some pretty poor service. Our menus were mistakenly taken before we even ordered our meal. We were brought bread, but no side plates. We asked twice for side plates and then when they arrived they were dirty. Drinks were ok, but there were a few ingredient issues at the bar that resulted in sending a drink back. Service was delayed throughout our experience. Trash was not cleared from the table. All around us, tables sat dirty and unbussed- some for entire duration of our dinner. The food was not great for the price tag. It all looked great and had beautiful presentation but fell very short on taste. The seafood tower and the turkey plate were the best of our items. Everything else was mediocre. We paid close to $500 between two people with drinks and a seafood tower. It was not even close to being worth it. It was a regrettable holiday experience.

Granted you're will to pay the premium, Boxwood is a very memorable experience. I went here with my roommate for her bridal shower and it was great. We got dressed up and made the long drive from Ventura County! The whole experience made you feel like you were a character in some fancy movie or even a character just enjoying tea and snacks in an Alice in Wonderland type of environment.I really loved eating here. The service was great, the tea was amazing, and the food was good. 10 out of 10 I'd recommend this place to a friend or a stranger, it doesn't matter I'd recommend it to everyone haha.

Came here for a group event. They have a nice private dining area. This is a see and be seen kind of place. There were 2 celebrities here the night we came. The presentation is beautiful and the food actually lived up to the presentation! (Sometimes, food looks great and tastes like cardboard -- that was thankfully not the case). There was an amazing crab appetizer. The filet was tender and the veggies were crisp and tasty. The sorbet was good -- though wish they'd offered diff flavors as that was a giant serving of sorbet for one flavor. Lovely and would recommend!

We tried afternoon tea here today and it was deeply disappointing. I thought they would know how to do tea, being The London hotel but sadly, not.Sandwiches were minuscule and open face, literally 2 inches across. Tiny and dry and waaaay under seasoned. Then the sweet's arrived and there were so many of them. The scones were really dry and crumbly and arrived cold. Bad sign. A few of the sweets were ok but they really felt like they'd been made days ago and not fresh or vibrant at all. The cakes were dry and it was like bad bakery food.Tea was fine though the options were very limited which was surprising and disappointing again. Service was lovely, Kaitlin was great, but for $85 dollars (they wanted $22 for a low end glass of bubbles) it was really underwhelming.I've had afternoon tea all over town (and around the world) and I would never ever recommend the tea service at the London Hotel. Oh well.

Everything was made exceptionally well, especially the appetizer scallops. Expectedly pricey. Some staff were having an argument, which isn't very professional in this setting, even though they weren't loud. They do not have Beef Wellington - it's been off the menu for 6 months.
