Strawberry milk is amazing, hands down one of the best I've ever tried. It's totally handmade that you can still feel the strawberry chunks. Sweetness is perfect. That cup is only $3.95.We ordered Rose Mil Tteokbokki, Kimbap, Fishcake soup, and Cheese Stick.- Tteokbokki: has that chewy texture, rose sauce is a little bit too watery for us. wish it has more flavor and thicker.- Fishcake Soup: Soooo good, the broth is flavorful, did not have that artificial broth flavor. Fishcake was also cooked perfectly, still able to keep the tangy and chewy texture.- Cheese Stick: just regular cheese stick you can get anywhere else, can skip - Kimbap: very special taste, balanced ratio of rice and vegetables, we dipped it with the rose sauce, pretty enjoyable.Parking: Valet parking only $3.00Service was great, only 1 person in the front when we went, but she was very fast in getting to your request. This place is pretty new, our very first impression is "oh this place is so clean".

Pretty small and quiet restaurant with tables of 4 and 2 with bar seats along one side of the restaurant. Few staff and it seems like a lot of people mainly order takeout from here. The food came out fairly quick and all at once which I liked. We ordered a lot but the fish cake skewers (bottom) and small tteokbokki (top) were my favorite. Both sauces were so sweet and spicy (perfect flavor combo) and paired well with the melted garlicy cheese on top. The tteokbokki had the bounciest chew to them and paired the best with the fish cake and salty sausages. I kept wiping up the sauce with other food items because it was so addicting. Best tteokbokki I've ever had.

As soon as you come in, the vibe is very chill and reminds me of Korea! On the left wall accessible from sitting at the bar reminds me of a kids classroom and there are paper dolls with clothes for decoration, something I used to play with a lot as a kid! So nostalgic. I love that it's super casual and I can sit here on my own or if you just want to sit at the bar with a friend. There are lots seating and larger seating arrangements for bigger groups too. There is a menu you can order from your seat. Very convenient but you'll still get a warm welcome! The food quality tastes exactly like in Korea! Strawberry milk with fresh strawberry flavor and the dukbokki brought me back to Seoul. You can control spicy level and add cheese, sausages or wide glass noodles like I did The mala rose is probably the best version of dukbokki I've ever had. It's SO GOOOOOD! Parking is free in a shared lot, very easy to find. Highly recommend!!

My friend and I ordered Bonggu Tteokbokki for delivery one night and were surprised it was as tasty as it was!Their tteokbokki sauce is one of the tastiest I've ever had! We had the Rose tteokbokki (they also have garaetteok) and both loved it. Creamy, spicy and sweet all in a wonderful medley, more balanced than I usually have had with some fish cakes thrown in. And the dduk was soft and chewy in all the right ways. The only fault is the melted cheese for $3 - they barely added any. Next time I'll just add my own cheese here at home. What's interesting is they have a bunch of fun tempura items, as well. It's not just tteokbokki here~! Their cheese sticks are very solid. I've also tried the sweet potato, deep fried egg, mini seaweed rolls, and fried sweet pumpkin - all of which were great. Freshly crisped with a good crunch and flavor. For delivery, everything was packaged so perfectly! Very secure and safe, plus everything stayed warm. Basically Bonggu Tteokbokki is the perfect Korean delivery meal!I will most definitely be ordering from Bonggu Tteokbokki! They've made me a fan.

I came by here to pick up Bonggu mil tteikbokki for my daughter as she loves this for lunch. The girl was kind to greet me when I walked in and she took my order right away for take out. There were few tables full of people and they all seem to be enjoying their lunch. When you show your reviews, on yelp, Instagram or Google, you get a complimentary strawberry milk, my daughter also loves that, so it'll be a great lunch for her. Server was kind. They have variety combo sets on their menu. Come and check it out!!Thanks Bongu Tteokbokki team for the great service today!! I'll be back for more!!

I wanted go try this place when this place was opened. I visited this place multiple times. This place isn't my favorite but my friend loved this place. Only my favorite this place menus are strawberry milk and fried fish cake. I thinking I should trying other flavor Tteokbokki. Order at the table with tablet. Only one waiter was working there now. Was working two person before but I'm not sure only one person working or not. It could be waitress took day off or something when last time I went to there. Serving was a bit slower but menu came out so faster. Clean and small modern places. I like this place interior.

[ Background ]Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at 2:30 PMMy friend stumbled across a TikTok about Bonggu Tteokbokki, a restaurant that recently opened in Koreatown. They offer a variety of Korean street food, so we decided to visit for a snack. This review is a bit late, so when we visited in October, they had cute Halloween decor like bat and cat stickers on the front windows and cute witch hat decorations hanging from the ceiling. The inside was trendy with bold green walls; large, painted murals of their food; and multiple posters. Two big TVs at the front displayed K-pop concerts and picture promotions of dishes available to order at Bonggu. K-pop played in the background. There were many tables, perfect for solo eaters and parties of up to four people. When we arrived, we were the only customers in the restaurant. However, two parties came in after us, and a few people picked up their orders.[ Food ]Online menu link: https://www.bonggutteok.com/flavorsI ordered:* Mixed Bumbuck ($13.95)This order came with three fried fish cake skewers on the bottom with one fried garae-tteok, one fried Korean blood sausage (soondae), and one fried egg on top. The whole thing came with a generous portion of Bonggu's sweet and thick sauce. The pictures in the menu don't do it justice. I thought my order would be the perfect size for a small snack, but it was actually a decent amount of food for the price, and I was pretty full after. The server accidentally gave me the Bonggu Bumbuck instead (so instead of one garae-tteok and one Korean sausage, I got two garae-tteok). The server was very gracious and apologized. I got the correct order a few minutes later, and I received a complimentary strawberry milk due to the mishap. The garae-tteok was crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. I loved the texture, and it tasted great with the sauce. The fishcake was folded up like an accordion, which was fun, but the end parts tasted weird. The fried egg was okay, nothing special. The self-serve tablet menu only said the order came with Korean sausage but didn't specify it was Korean blood sausage (soondae). Since I don't really like the flavor of soondae, I wouldn't have ordered the Mixed Bumbuck if I knew. In my opinion, the tteok was the best part, so if I came here again, I would probably get the GaRae Tteok Bumbuck instead, which comes with five fried garae-tteok and one fried egg.My friend ordered:* Bonggu GaRae ($10.95)This order came with five garae-tteok and three fish cake pieces on top. My friend chose Bonggu's special original sauce, which was pretty spicy. Since the garae-tteok was plain, it had a bouncier, chewier texture compared to the fried version. Also, the fish cake tasted way better than the ones included in my Bumbuck order.[ Service ]Every table (even the counter table seating) has a tablet where you can scroll through all the food options and then place your order. Additionally, a container on each table includes the necessary equipment, such as scissors, tongs, napkins, wooden chopsticks, and other utensils. The service was pretty quick since the employee delivered our food to the table about 10 minutes after we ordered. Once we were done with our meal, I paid at the front counter. We had leftovers at the end, and the staff member conveniently boxed it up for us. They have a nifty machine that seals the top of the to-go container with plastic wrap (similar to the machines at boba stores that automatically seal the cups).[ Tips ]Be wary of the reviews and rating for this restaurant since they may be inflated. This restaurant offers a promotion where you can get one free homemade strawberry milk if you leave a review or share on Instagram, Google, or Yelp, and you can get 1 cup per review. So I'm assuming some of the 5-star reviews are from people who just wanted the free drink.I would recommend using the paper menu since it has better descriptions of the food items. For example, the online menu and the self-serve tablet menu will sometimes generally say "Bonggu's Special Sauce", but they don't specify if it's the sweet or spicy version.
