Very shocked to be writing this review, as I expected BLVD Steak to be a 5 star experience and unfortunately fell much short of this. Being a steak house fanatic, I have been to just about every spot in LA. We were celebrating a birthday at BLVD and it was our first time there. To begin, they brought a shrimp appetizer 15 minutes before the bread (which they charge for). The shrimp is $32 and comes with 3 pieces... A non-refillable Diet Coke is $8. We were then very excited to all order filets (which we planned the meal around) in which upon ordering were told they had no more filets left at 6PM on a Sunday - that can't happen at a steakhouse. Cocktails took a very long time to get delivered because the waiter was taking another large tables order and no one else brought the drinks over.Sides were very mediocre (corn, mac, and fries) and not very hot, pricey, and not that big. For a steakhouse, the service was below average as the waiter was pretty much on his own and only saw the assistant waiter 1 or 2 times. The Ceasar salad was the best item we had. Overall, BLVD was much pricier than its competition (Steak48, Baltaire, Mastro's, Ruth's Chris) and there was not one category where I would say they "outperformed" its competition.

Had a great time, and a wonderful meal, but I do want to note a few things that made it 4 instead of 5 stars - great overall, but less than perfect. I figure you might want to know before you go.Number one was the steak. It *was* absolutely delicious. But... I asked for medium, and dammit, I expect a high-end steakhouse to nail medium. Instead I got medium rare - super red and soft and shiny on the inside. Still delicious, but not done the way I wanted, and for that price, I don't think it's too much to ask. Next, I'm generally pretty down to Earth, and more comfortable in a neighborhood pub, so fancy-pants places really aren't really my thing. BLVD Steak does have a really cozy decor, but it's a well-to-do Sherman Oaks hangout. We spotted a celeb out front, and there was a parade of luxury cars pulling up to valet. Overall, a bunch of obviously privileged folks out enjoying themselves. And sure, you've got money, good for you. But not really my scene.Next, we had a reservation, but still waited about 10 minutes once we arrived. Maybe this might've been different on a weeknight, but the place was hopping. There isn't really a good place to stand in that situation, and I don't like crowded spaces, so we chose to stand outside on the sidewalk at first, then sucked it up and stood in the noisy, crowded bar area. But our table was very nice, once they seated us.Finally, it was loud. They have acoustic dampener tiles on the ceiling, but wow. It's not a chill, relaxing vibe. Noisy. Maybe it's different at times other than primetime Friday night. I didn't go on a Tuesday. YMMV.Now, here's what was great: - The service. Our waiter, Casey, was just the best. That is how you make diners feel special. That level of "you matter" is what makes the pricetag worth it.- The appetizers. In addition to our steaks, we tried the Waygu meatball, Caesar salad, and the shrimp. All wonderful. That salad is my new standard for what a Caesar should be. So good.- The sides. We went with mashed potatoes and the chopped broccoli. Very good. The price for two, including a 25% tip, was $337. We each had a drink with our meal. We took advantage of the Dine LA menu, which isn't aways available (I think it was $95 per person for an appetizer, main, & dessert). So we got a a good deal, and it was still approaching $350. So, unless you're well-heeled, this is a "special dining experience" kind of place. Overall, very good. Overall recommended.

It was my first time and I celebrated my husband's birthday here. We had crab cake to share which was so good. We shared the mashed potatoes and crispy broccolini. Both sides were good and we really enjoyed the broccolini. The way it was cooked was similar to Brussels sprouts. A must here. For our entree I had the Chilean sea bass which I loved a lot! The fish was slightly crispy but soft on the inside. I enjoyed it a lot. The service was really good. Currently pregnant so I didn't get any drinks but the martinis looked like they were a hit here. Since it was my husband's birthday they had dessert with a sparkling candle on it. Reservations are must because it gets so busy here. There is street parking or valet. I would love to come back here.

This steak house is on my list to try & I was excited to make a reservation weeks ago to finally try it. I ordered the filet and the minute I had my first bite I was disappointed, the steak was tasteless. I thought it was me but I asked my friend and he agreed that his steak had no taste either. We both felt it needs more salt etc. Maybe this is how the chef does his steak and this is his style of cooking but this is not for me. Everything from the steak to the side dishes, none impressed me. I have tried almost all the steakhouses in LA and sad to say this place doesn't make it to my top ten.The highlight of the night was the service. Our server was attentive & friendly. The food came out fast. The restaurant was crowded, loud, with fun background music. If you can find a seat at the bar it is fun to watch people watching. No I wouldn't recommend the food but I wouldn't mind to sit at the bar for drinks if I am in the area.

We went to BLVD to celebrate a very special date: 1 year wedding anniversary. We were looking for something where we could splurge a little and still feel comfortable and, of course, eat good food! BLVD met all of our expectation: food was great, ambiance was fancy and modern, service was attentive and phenomenal (shout out to Lina) and we felt well taken care of. The crab cake is a must! It was full of flavor and went well with the pretzel bread. Onion rings were a little bready, I think I'd go for another side next time. Yes, there will be a next time considering the good experience. Meat (tomahawk) was big, we left half of the portion, that we easily heated up on airfryer the next day and was still tasted juicy and great. For dessert, make sure to get the butter cake. It would be very sweet if it wasn't for the generous portion of fresh strawberries on top, that evened the sweetness out.

Hands down, one of the best services I have experienced in a steakhouse in Los Angeles! Although there are numerous steakhouses in LA, this is always my husband and I's go to. There are some dishes I do recommend to other steak lovers. Their 10 oz Australian wagyu is absolutely amazing. It not only melts in your mouth, but each bite is filled with flavor. There are some steaks that are too fatty, but the Australian Wagyu steak has the perfect balance! For dessert, I have to recommend their butter cake. I sometimes dream about how delicious and decadent this cake is. Overall, if you are looking for a steakhouse in Los Angeles, don't hesitate to stop by at Sherman Oaks and visit BLVD steak. You will not be disappointed.

Tonight I dined in at BLVD steak for the first time from invitation from a close friend , as I arrived they had valet parking for a cheap price of $13 and when I walked in the host team was quick to accommodate me and seat me for my reservation, when seated I was welcomed by our wonderful server sierra who gave me and my friends a run down of how the restaurant works & also mentioned her favorite dishes, we ordered a few cocktails each ( the espresso martini was such a well balanced cocktail ) then ordered , a crab cake , Wagyu meatball as well as the ceaser salad that had great seasoning to start off for entrees we got the porterhouse which was cooked to a perfect medium temperature... to end off the night we ended it with their phenomenal butter cake and some espresso Martini shots... shout out to sierra & the manager Peter for taking such great care of us on this lovely Monday night would definitely recommend to try it out !!

I've never written a yelp review before, but BLVD is well worth it! Huge shoutout to the bartending staff who made the experience as incredible as it was. David and the Australian gentleman were so friendly and knowledgeable. The food was incredible and don't even get me started on the martinis! Overall, the vibes were top notch. I'm from Philly and would make my way back just to come to BLVD!
