Mixed Reactions at Blu Jam Café, Downtown LAEnvironment 0/5Blu Jam Café, located in downtown LA, serves some astonishing meals and welcoming service; however, there is a lot that could go into improving the whole experience from outside the control of the restaurant proper.Food Quality (5/5):The standout dish was surely the Crunchy French Toast. It was prepared exceptionally well, the outside being nice and crispy and inside gushed with soft flavorful pulling with syrup and fresh fruits. The Eggs Benedict was also delicious too through the perfectly poached eggs with rich, creamy hollandaise sauce swimming over the freshly toasted English muffins and tender ham. Freshness and satisfaction in both showcase the artillery chef in delivering remarkable brunch classics.Service (5/5):Blu Jam Café has an incredible service team. The servers were attentive, kind, and on-the-ball in their presentations. They also managed to strike a great balance between providing a welcoming yet professional demeanor, confirming drinks were refilled promptly and resolving all our questions on the menu. The friendliness further added to the dining experience.Ambiance (2.5/5):So while the food and service were both absolutely top-notch, Blu Jam Café's ambiance left something to be desired on the day of my visit. First, parking was massive, as the closest lot closed unexpectedly, forcing guests to park several blocks away. The neighborhood sported quite a few homeless people, which might freak some of the visitors out and takes away, at least in my perception, the overall comfort upon arriving and leaving the restaurant. Second, I was sadly distracted by a pigeon swooping down on the interior of the café while we were placing our order, which planted doubts in my mind about hygiene and eating comfort. Overall 3.5/5Although A Cafe has mouthwatering food and a commendable staff, the elements of its location and surroundings are some that inhibited the dining experience. The food will entice you, especially the super-crunchy French toast and benedict eggs, but visitors ought to know in advance that parking and the setup should be prepared for certain conveniences. Once these issues have been sorted, the cafe itself might approach an ambience that can see guests relax and enjoy their meals.

This place is located in an indoor alley in DTLA which is really cool because it's central but hidden from the outside. Modern diner vibes with a ton of seating, classic diner menu options and a pretty good selection of cafe drinks also. Service was great - they explained that you order with a QR code on the table and can add items whenever you want and pay as you order. We got the California omelet and their special which is the crunchy French toast. Wasn't too busy but food did take a while to come out. Not the biggest deal but good to know. The French toast was insanely good! It doesn't come with syrup but a vanilla cream instead and it's perfect. Topped with strawberries and blueberries it's a delicious brunch. The California omelet was also good and had lots of thick cut bacon. Comes with toast and either breakfast potatoes or side salad. Would definitely come back!

Service was quick. You can order your food with the worker or scan the QR code on your table. The food came right away. I ordered the quesadilla and it was good! Came with a side of pico de gallo. French toast was indeed crispy ! I can tell this place is popular and busy on most regular days. Great music playing in the background.

Love the options for vegan and vegetarian diets. I've tried the Tex max hash in the past & I love the vegan wrap. Love the hash it comes with on the side & Def enough food for one person. The drinks are amazing as well! The only frustrating part is the waitlist on the randomest days. & you can park behind the place in a parking lot if street parking is hard to find.

If you sit inside it's a bit stuffy and warm . They have packed a lot of tables inside so if you're looking for a quiet intimate setting, this isn't it. The tables are very very close together and needless to say it was a Saturday morning so the place was packed. The next time I go I will definitely sit outside . Let me further explain the "outside". Blu Jam was a bit difficult to find . Google maps took us right to it but it doesn't sit directly on the sidewalk There's a building with double doors . Once you open the doors you see that the building houses several businesses and Blu Jam was one if them. So when I say, "outside" there's no real outside . They have set up a very nice "patio area" in the very of the

This Blu Jam location in Downtown LA was okay. My friend and I ate here on a Saturday afternoon for brunch. In terms of service, don't expect too much since you'll be ordering using your phone and provided qr code. It also feels like your ordering using self checkout at a fastfood or grocery store. Unfortunately, I lack a sense of hospitality from the servers since they never asked my friend and I or anyone on how the customers were doing or if everything was okay. I can't pretend it's okay when it's not. The ambiance seems crammed due to the narrow spaces between tables and lighting could be better. It also took approximately 20-25 minutes for our orders to be served. The brunch burger was alright and nothing too spectacular. While the diced potatoes looked appealing, it ended up becoming mushy, salty and not satisfying. This location has potential since it's in the heart of Downtown LA, but the service and food were not it. Please do better next time.

Interesting setting and even more interesting ordering process. It's like ordering takeout where you order and pay online by scanning the QR code but they bring the food out to you. I wouldn't say we necessarily got served by a server and the one time I asked them a simple question about a dish I wasn't thinking about ordering, they took so long to get the answer back to me, I ended up finding the answer quicker on Google. I ordered the Tuscany scramble and was pretty tasty and filling though for the price so definitely saved the experience. They also let my friend build her own avocado toast which was super helpful!

Blu Jam Cafe in downtown Los Angeles offers a delightful brunch experience that's hard to beat. The staff is friendly and attentive.I ordered the shakshuka, and it did not disappoint. It was beautifully presented, well-seasoned, and bursting with flavor. Wished they would add more toast to the order tho 2 was not enough for the dish! I also got to try my friend's dishes as well and all was good the potatoes were a bit heavy for my liking. The food came out surprisingly fast, which is always a plus during brunch hours. The cafe also has a convenient to-go box station, perfect for left over without having to ask the staff. While the prices are decent, parking can be a bit of a challenge in the area. Overall, Blu Jam Cafe is a great brunch spot that I would definitely return to for its tasty food and inviting atmosphere. Note: The cafe features a QR code for easy ordering, enhancing the overall dining experience.

I ordered the Cobb salad from Blue Jam Cafe, and it was a great choice! The ingredients were super fresh, and the salad was well-balanced. The avocado was perfectly ripe, the bacon was crispy, and the chicken was tender and flavorful. I also loved the portion size--definitely filling, without being too heavy. The dressing complemented everything nicely without overpowering the ingredients. If you're looking for a healthy yet satisfying option, I'd recommend giving the Cobb salad here a try!

Unfortunately, the service is not what you'd expect if your spending $85 on breakfast for 3 people. I don't like the ordering concept. I don't believe they take cash which is what I originally brought to pay. After you order, you're asked to tip without even being waited on first. I left a $5 tip because the food was brought to our table and the server never came back to ask if we needed anything or if we were satisfied with our meals. I ordered the Breakfast Quesadilla which had Braised Chicken Tinga, veggies and Egg. It also came with a side of crispy potatoes which was probably my favorite part. The flavor on the Tinga is mild, I personally think it lacked flavor and salt. For being braised, the chicken wasn't as tender as expected. My son ordered the popular Churro French Toast which he quit eating because he said it was too sweet. I tried it and it's more of a pastry for your coffee since it's not served with syrup. I thought it was pretty good. My mother ordered the California Omelette which she liked. The food is okay but, there wasn't anything that stood out to me. If you're okay with tipping before being waited on and paying before you receive your food then I would recommend eating here.
