Bé Ù has a special place in my heart. I've been enjoying their Banh Mis for a couple years now but every single time I stop by it always feels like a special treat because the food here, the staff, and their values, are exceptional.Their popcorn chicken is a MUST TRY, it'll exceed whatever expectation you've come to have for the dish and please be sure to dip every bite in the unbelievable sauce they provide. Their Chicken Banh Mi remains consistently among my very favorites in L.A.--the bread and balance of ingredients inside always satisfying.Do note: Bé Ù is set up primarily for To Go orders, however I did notice recently the addition of a small patio for on-site dining! You will not regret planning your visit to this cultural, culinary, and community haven.

A HIDDEN GEM FOR DELICIOUS VIETNAMESE CUISINEPROS-------FOOD: The food is top notch and tastes authentic, at least I think it was. There is no "LA" spin to the dishes and have a homemade fresh taste. Bahn Mi was juicy and flavorful, and my personal favorite was the popcorn chicken and corn! SERVICE: Very friendly and welcoming, the food was prepared quickly PICKUP: Because the streets can be a bit crowded, they have a designated pickup spot out front which is super convenient if you order ahead for takeout They now have a cute side patio if you want to eat there as well!

Evacuated from Altadena due to the Eaton Fire, my family found ourselves in the wonderful land of Silverlake. My online reconnaissance for vegan grub had Bé Ù popping up everywhere. Tired and hungry as hell, I called in an order for anything vegan that sounded good on the menu. And woooh, boy. I have nothing but praise. From the front, it's a kitchen with an open Dutch door. That's it. There is no indoor seating and you don't go in at all, but I think theres a patio in the back. And the number of people milling about that open door tells you that Bé Ù is doing big things. We tackled the Tofu Banh Mi, Mango/Cucumber/Mint Salad, Bap Nuong (grilled street corn), and the Summer Rolls, and every damn thing had us wide-eyed mumbling "mmmmmm.." through big bites. Incredibly satisfying, both on a flavor level and filling, and each dish was completely doing its own thing. Not only was the food incredible, but Bé Ù is run by some pretty terrific human beings. They had a big sign up in the window that said free meals for evacuees and first responders. When they heard we were stranded because of the fires, they said to hit them up next time for a meal on them. We did, and they hooked us up with the three things we asked for, plus they tossed in some fried Jalapeño Salt &Pepper Oyster Mushrooms on top of it, which were SO DAMN GOOD. All in all, we tried six vegan options, and I'd order every single one again and again. The grilled street corn was rolled around in a vegan aioli, peanuts, and fried shallots. Serious comfort food. Vietnamese elote, basically. Or is elote basically just Mexican Bap Nuong? Deep thoughts.. The Mango/Cucumber/Mint salad was so much more than it sounded thanks to the sour and spicy dressing. The banh mi and tofu rice noodle plates were exactly what they sounded like and executed on point. Summer rolls, give me those every day, and those fried mushrooms.. ohhhh the mushrooms... Across the board, the ingredients were fresh and vibrant, cooked perfectly, and the balance of everything was dead on.I don't know when we'll be back in Silverlake, but I promise one thing. When we are driving through, or even remotely close, a stop at Bé Ù is here by declared to be on that future agenda. And I can't thank their crew enough for looking out for the community. It's spots like this one that really live and breathe the meaning of the hospitality industry. And it sure as hell doesn't hurt that their food is absolute fire.

Recently stopped by this place to grab a sandwich (banh mi) and some coffee. But first, I just want to say that this business is exemplary of the businesses that I really love supporting. It doesn't hurt that they make some really tasty Vietnamese comfort classics! But yeah, Chef Uyen Le and the Be U team is one of the first restaurants that stepped up and provided meals for first responders and evacuees during the 2025 LA wildfires. They received some recognition from some publications, but were left off the list of some as well. For an already hard to operate climate for restaurants at the moment, these small restaurants that take care of their community should be celebrated and supported by their community as well! Okay, stepping down from my soapbox, the coffee was very delicious and strong. It definitely hit the spot and gave me the caffeine that I needed. The sandwich I ordered was soo good as well. I ordered the braised pork belly and egg banh mi with dip - this sandwich was inspired by LA's own Phillipe the Original's French dip sandwiches. I've been here a handful of times now and I have yet to have something here that I didn't like. The vibe is casual. There is some outside seating, but I think the spot is more conducive to take out.

If you're wandering the streets of Silver Lake and craving something special, look no further than Bé Ù. This little spot might not scream for attention, but once you find it, you'll feel like you've stumbled upon a secret worth sharing. With its authentic Vietnamese flavors and a touch of LA charm, this restaurant is a true gem that blends tradition with a modern twist.Parking:Let's be real--this is LA, so parking isn't easy. Bé Ù doesn't have a lot, but street parking is manageable if you're patient. For those grabbing takeout, there's a temporary pick-up zone nearby, which is a thoughtful touch.Service:From the moment you arrive, the staff treats you like an old friend. They're warm, attentive, and eager to share their menu favorites. As a first-timer, I felt completely taken care of, and their recommendations hit the mark. It's the kind of genuine hospitality that makes you want to come back.Food:Let's talk food--this is where Bé Ù truly shines. Their menu feels like a love letter to Vietnamese street food, with just enough of an LA flair to make it interesting. The Braised & Caramelized Pork is an absolute must-try--tender, flavorful, and ridiculously satisfying. The Banh Mi delivers that perfect crunch and balance of flavors, while the Spring Rolls are a fresh, vibrant bite paired with a peanut sauce you'll want to lick clean. For drinks, don't skip the Rau Ma. This pennywort juice is light, refreshing, and feels like a nod to their roots. It's not a drink you find everywhere, but here, it just fits.Ambiance:The setup is simple but charming. Their cozy patio, strung with colorful lights, feels like the kind of place you'd stumble upon in Vietnam--a casual, relaxed vibe perfect for enjoying great food with friends or solo.Bé Ù isn't just a restaurant it's an experience. Whether you're here for the food, the vibe, or the community spirit, this little spot delivers. Skip the cookie-cutter franchise Vietnamese food and treat yourself to something real. Bé Ù is a place you'll want to return to, not just for the flavors but for the feeling it leaves you with: full, happy, and genuinely cared for. Bonus: Giving Back to the CommunityOn top of serving incredible food, Bé Ù is currently supporting LA wildfire victims and first responders by providing free meals. This act of kindness makes me want to support them even more. More people need to know about this place, so spread the word!Go ahead, make the trip. You won't regret it.!

Nestled in a residential area in Silverlake/East Hollywood. Parking can be challenging and is scarce. I ordered the chicken sandwich & iced coffee. Delicious! I love how this small business is serving free meals to evacuees & first responders. Kudos for this awesome young lady for doing this. If you're able to give any donations, please do & and support her business. You don't see big corporation like Mc Donald's, JITB, Dunkin Donuts or Carls Jr. doing this. No compassion for evacuees or first responders. They're in the business to make money which is sad & unfortunate.Rebuild LA.

That's the way uh huh uh huh I like it! Yes, this way. Amazing people working the front. Insanely delicious food at insanely affordable prices. You cannot beat this. No joke, probably one of the best vegan bahn mi sandwiches you'll find in LA. I'm not vegan but love bahn mi sandwiches with tofu instead of meat. The pickles and even vegan pate were finger licking good!Best spring rolls. This isn't hyperbole. Best spring rolls I've had in LA. The chicken inside had amazing flavor but the star was the peanut sauce. No idea what is in that peanut sauce but I've never tasted anything close to that at other Vietnamese joints! After eating this yummy meal, I was super curious about this place's story so I did a little Googling. I love that the owner is all about paying her staff a living wage + keeping menu prices affordable for everyone who calls East Hollywood / Silverlake home! Amazing food with an amazing mission. Win win.
