Bar Lis

my friend and i stumbled upon bar lis on a tuesday evening, and it was one of the best decisions. when we first got there, it was nearly empty, and we considered leaving but we waited about 30 minutes when the venue was completely filled. loved jazz eclectic at bar lis on tuesday nights. the ambiance, gorgeous, with its own style and flair in every room. Gilles is a perfect host + gentleman and made us feel at home. my friend and i loved our drinks, we ordered the "mon cherie" and "bang-bang." the beautiful entrance leads you to an elevator where you enter into a courtyard style bar, and to your right is the lounge area. from there, you can find multiple doors to the outside walkways and bars. magical experience, intoxicating ambiance, impeccable service. 5/5

Nice rooftop bar with a great view of the city. Drinks are on the pricey end, but it's worth the view. Ambience is nice and feels very HollywoodBar service is good, depending on how busy they are.

I was staying at the Thompson Hotel and decided to go up to Bar Lis on a Friday night, after a wedding that I had attended. My party of 4, including myself, sat down at a table near the entrance to the dance floor. At the time there we sat, there were a handful of open tables because it wasn't terrible late. After about 30-45 minutes, we were asked to move, because someone has purchased the table we were sitting at. There was no signage that said that tables could be bought, nothing that showed as reserved. Nothing. How they decided which table was beyond me too. It was incredibly frustrating to be a guest of the hotel and to be told to move. When we moved there were no open tables, as they were taken by people who were there only for the night club. Absolutely terrible customer service. Beware if you are staying at the hotel. It makes no difference.

Cute LA Bar! This is definitely a bar to check out for the views. The bar is decorated very nicely and it's a good place to just come have a drink and appetizer. We had the pita bread so delicious I didn't get a picture and a signature cocktail.

This place is so cute! Our bartender was awesome and had wonderful recommendations. The views are stunning the cocktails are great. And the food was pretty good. It's definitely a must if you're staying at the hotel. Make sure you make reservations definitely recommended.

In the morning, this place is open for brunch and to my surprise the food was pretty good. I've come here at night before, so it was interesting to see a transform during the daytime. I likely would not come out of my way to come here for brunch, but would definitely come if I was staying at the Thompson Hotel or nearby.

Bar Lis I have been going to since it opened several years ago and it has only become more and more involved - Bastille Day we spent here with the best singer Adele Jacques and she really filled this space beautifully! The truffle fries paired with a glass of champagne really drive home the whole south of France aesthetic and vibe of the place. I look forward to large birthday parties here as well as celebrating their French Jazz nights produced by Gils - who curates the most amazing events!

Came here for drinks after my birthday dinner, had high expectations as the website has very nice aesthetic views and pictures, was a little disappointed when I walked in, however the views from where I was sitting kind of made up for it. As for the drinks , they had a very nice presentation however they were just ok.

It was a cold, foggy day in Los Angeles. The Thompson Hotel moved their breakfast from the Terrace to the Bar Lis. The heater was on. The place is cozy and the decor is on point. Our waiter also served us last night when we came in for a drink. He was great both times. My friend ordered the French toast. She thought it was OK. It looked very dark. I ordered shashuka which is my second time. I loved this dish. It has a tomato base along with garbanzo beans and fried eggs. You put all this on a pita bread. It was more very filling.

Went here for a birthday dinner, first off the ambiance of the rooftop bar was spectacular the views of Hollywood were amazing. We order some wine and appetizers which were delicious we had the burrata and cherry tomatoes on toasted sourdough bread and the jalapeño cheese fritter with red chili dip and some French fries. For the main course we had the spicy rigatoni vodka also delicious. Definitely recommend this place and I will definitely be going back.
