Came here on a whim to escape the cold and this place did not disappoint!First, the inside is so pretty. There are some really nice crystal chandeliers and the seating arrangements are roomy. We got sat at a booth by the window (facing the parking lot) and the seats were comfy. The waitstaff was super welcoming and didn't hover us like helicopter parents so, we were able to enjoy our meal together. Now, here's what we got:Tom Kha w/ shrimp: strong lemon grass notes (loved it!) and it did not feel "too heavy". We got medium spiciness and it wasn't too powerful (reference: we enjoy eating pickled jalepenos as snacks so, what is considered "spicy" is obvious subject to one's tolerance). The Fried Fish w/ Apple : fish is SUPER crispy and the apple dipping sauce is SO refreshing. The dish as a whole is not really greasy as well. think I could have eaten 3 plates of this dish if we had not ordered the other dishes. -Bonus Tip: dipping the fish in the Tom Kha is a hit!Fried Rice w Shrimp: huge plate of fried rice. We really liked how the dish was not overly salty. The shrimp pieces were nice and plump. We really liked pairing this dish with the other two orders we got. We would definitely come back to try the other dishes and specialities!

Somehow, the food quality went down, at least for the Hainan chicken rice. The rice was soft and smoochy, and the chicken had no taste. This is by far the worst Hainan chicken rice I have had.The service is good and attentive.

Never disappoints.Everyone knows what Banana Bay serves and it's no secret why the restaurant is successful. The food is affordable and quality is good. I love coming here whenever I have a craving for Thai food and don't have the desire to put up with parking nightmare in Hollywood to have slightly tastier Thai food. This spot is good enough for me and will continue to support the business for years to come.Highly recommend!

This Banana Bay location is good but can get busy. Most of the food is good and they've kept the place pretty clean. I stopped going to the Banana Bay in Rowland Heights because that place got very sirty.Parking lot sucks but that's due to all the restaurants in the shopping center.Check out my pics.

In a strip mall it hides, but don't be shy,Banana Bay's food will make you feel fly. From crispy chicken to noodles so fine,Every dish comes out hot, fresh, and divine. The Pad See Ew and King Noodles delight,With Pineapple Fried Rice, it's a taste-bud flight. For dessert, don't miss the mango so sweet,It's the perfect end to a meal that can't be beat. The service is quick, and the ambiance bright,So grab your friends or family for a bite.Parking's a challenge, but food's worth the wait,Banana Bay's flavor is simply first-rate!

I haven't actually dined here but I've gotten takeout a few times. There's plenty of parking outside and the interior is nice and clean. Service has always been good whenever I've gone.So I really like Banana Bay a lot! I wish there was a location closer to me in Pasadena but glad they opened this one cuz the Rowland Heights is even more out of the way. While it's not the very best or most high end Thai food you'll have, it's such a great value for what you get and it always hits for me honestly. I usually get the King Noodle cuz it's not something all places have on their menu and I love the crispy fried rice noodles. Some other staples for me are the Pineapple fried rice, Banana Bay Pad Thai, Pad see ew, crying tiger and the Continental Fried rice.I do limit myself cuz I can't carb load that much but whenever I'm craving simple takeout and Thai this is the place!

My favorite Banana Bay is the one in Rowland Heights and this place is close to that level. Overall a solid lunch experience.I had their crispy hainam chicken and it was delicious, solid quality crispy chicken and perfectly cooked rice. Their pad see eew chicken was a solid selection for the lunch hour.I'd definitely come back here again to try their other menu items. The location has a lot of seating options and parking spots.

Banana Bay in Temple City was one of the first restaurants I went to when I moved to LA, and it's stuck in my shortlist of best restaurants for good reason.I took a friend here for Sunday lunch and there was a little bit of a wait, but it was well worth it. I also think they went through a renovation because the space is looks so modern with a lot of beautiful natural light and high ceilings.Their food comes out fresh and hot, and the staff is patient and checks on you frequently to make sure everything is tasting good. For drinks, I got a fresh coconut (emphasis on the FRESH) and my friend got a Thai iced coffee (she ordered another one bc it was so good). To start, we ordered the crab nuggets, then asked for the pineapple fried rice. I ordered the king noodle and my friend ordered the pad see ew (not pictured). The crab nuggets came out first, and they were interesting but still very good. It looks like shredded crab is packed into nuggets and then fried until crispy, and the dipping sauce complements it perfectly. If you're a person who loves texture like me, I highly recommend the king noodles. The rice noodles are crispy fried and then dressed with seafood and gravy, which makes for a unique and umami-filled bite. There is a huge portion of seafood in this dish, which is a huge plus. The pineapple fried rice was also very yummy! The pineapple chunks were still juicy and firm, and the rice was seasoned well.Writing this review has made me want to go back sooner rather than later. Highly recommend this spot for a family lunch or a slow date night dinner!

Tried the banana bay pad thai ($11.99) and chicken satay ($10.99). Food quality was consistent and dishes ready fast with the price being at an nice range. The banana bay pad thai is different from their regular with one main ingredient: tofu. I like that I'm mixing in my own bean sprouts and the shrimp on top was good. It's on the sweeter side for me but most pad thai are.Def get the chicken satay. No, it wasn't on a skewer and interesting (to me) have toast on the side, but the favor is just good and the peanut sauce must to eat this. (Also ate the lettuce to clean the plate.)Would recommend overall!! Sadly they didn't have to cat fish available so couldn't try it, but at least I know what to order next.
