Lets go straight to the food.1. Veggie egg rolls. Pass. Pretty confident they are not made there. Which is fine. They had a garlic taste. A huge yuck. And did I mention that you have to squint to see what veggies are in there?2. Shrimp in bblack bean sauce. Not your typical appearance at other places. Big size shrimp, nice flavored sauce. Win in sin err sherman oaks city.3. Shrimp fried rice. Had the standard veggies in there peas included. The rice is not your common brown color. Didnt matter. Huge size Shrimp. That was the kicker. I used soy sauce with mine. You will have leftovers. Oh the lemonade is very good. Service is wonderful. Seating? Who cares.

Coming out of Yelp semi-retirement due to a broken heart. Bamboo has been my family's favorite Chinese restaurant for 30 years. Very sad to report that we have ordered twice since the management change with the same sad result. Bland, mediocre food that is a shadow of its former self. Kung Pao is now made with oddly sliced, watery chicken breast. Mu shu lacking flavor, low on pork. Hot and sour soup was still OK, but not the same. Everyone makes mistakes, but instead of our favorite dish (shredded pork with hoisin), we received something called Szechuan pork, which also had no flavor and undercooked vegetables. Only writing this in the hope that management sees the consensus building here about the changes and find a way to restore what was once a standout restaurant sea of sameness.

Folks, you know where I draw the line? Let me tell you where I draw the line, the actual line - I draw the line when I'm ready to vomit on the ground from eating either really bad or really tainted food. THAT is where I draw the line, baby, and take it from the likes of me, I have drawn that line for Bamboo. Let's get a few things straight - I know of no other Chinese restaurant that's priced as high as Bamboo, which is why I've never eaten there, even though it's literally three minutes from my house. But I had a 50% off thing from UberEats, so I ordered some orange chicken and white rice. I will give kudos for the quick delivery. THAT is where the kudos end.I opened the container. I've had orange chicken from tons of Chinese restaurants - the good, the bad, and the ugly. Orange chicken always presents the same - a deep brown/dark orange color, breading (I order extra crispy), with scallions, occasionally orange peel, and some red peppers in the sauce. Always. What I was looking at was blonde/light gold in color and looked like no other orange chicken I've seen. I presume it was orange chicken because it did have that kind of flavor - but no crispy and barely breading. I had a helping. It was mediocre but I was hungry. I had two more small helpings over white rice, less than a third of what was in the container. But there was something off about it and now I am completely nauseous and hoping this doesn't turn into full-blown food poisoning. Believe me, Bamboo, you do not want that. I've been known to show up at restaurants that have given me food poisoning and throwing up right there. You better pray. There are a lot of five-star reviews telling you this is the BEST ever. These are written by people who know nothing about Chinese food, but if they see high prices and it's in Studio City or Sherman Oaks, they just figure it's the BEST. The one-star reviews, of which there are plenty of late, are more accurate. And trust me, Yelp people, I do not like giving one-star reviews. This one isn't the good, isn't the bad, but its definitely the ugly. And there you have it.

Parking is street or valet at the time of this review it was 11 dollars. I have been told owner has changed as well as the menu. Food is still good. Food was not spicy even though we ordered it spicy. Kung Pow only had a few red peppers but lots of peanuts. I liked the black bean shrimp it had. Very good flavor. Beef and broccoli was an ok flavor but meat was tough. The Hot Sour soup needs more sour so ask for vinegar. Service was good. I would rate the food just fair. This has been a go to spot for years but it may of been an off night for the chef The interior is still very high end.

This is the best Chinese food in all of Sherman Oaks--and believe me, I have looked. I moved here from having spent my entire life being surrounded by good Chinese food, and I was depressed at the lack of options. Until I found Bamboo Cuisine. This place does Chinese food the right way, authentically and super fresh! It's a little bit more upscale/pricier than your local Chinese takeout spots--but the price you pay is absolutely reflected in the quality of the food. I love that it's also family-owned, and the servers actually speak Chinese (and obviously, English)--which is important to me. I came here on Lunar New Year once as I was feeling home sick, and was so touched at their good mood, and accommodation. They ended up sending me home with a complimentary quart of soup, which was so kind! My usual orders are Yang Chow Fried Rice, Salt & Pepper Chicken Wings, Bamboo Chicken, Beef & Broccoli--but truly everything I've had here is delicious and authentic. I order from them at least once a week!

Great place, cozy atmosphere. Incredible food, quick service. The food was very good, the egg roles were tasty, the beef with sugar snap peas was delicious, the meat was soft, chow main was great, and the Bamboo special shrimp either pineapple and nuts was incredible. Thank you!!!

If you're looking for the best Chinese food in Los Angeles, look no further than Bamboo Cuisine in Sherman Oaks! I've eaten my way through this city's Chinese restaurants, and nothing comes close to the flavor, quality, and consistency of Bamboo Cuisine. This place is an absolute gem--a neighborhood treasure that deserves all the recognition in the world. Now, let's talk about the star of the show: the Jade Chicken. If you order just one dish here, make it this. It's tender, juicy, and bathed in the most incredible, velvety sauce that's packed with fresh, vibrant flavors. I don't know how they do it, but it's pure magic on a plate. My brother Scott is obsessed--he orders it at least once a week (and honestly, I don't blame him). It's that addictive. But really, everything on the menu is phenomenal. The ingredients are always fresh, the portions generous, and the flavors out of this world. Whether you're craving classic favorites like Mongolian beef, spicy wontons, or their crispy duck, you cannot go wrong. On top of that, the service is top-notch--the staff is always warm, friendly, and super attentive. The owners clearly take pride in what they do, and it shows in every detail.Bamboo Cuisine is hands down the best Chinese restaurant in LA, and once you try it, you'll understand why people keep coming back again and again. Do yourself a favor--get the Jade Chicken, thank me later!

I first posted a disappointing review since the ownership change back in October. Now we're in February and things have not gotten better. I really do not understand why the new owner (who had been working there previously, as I was told) would change the COOKING at a staple Valley chinese food spot for the WORSE! If the old owner, Joseph, knew that his longtime customers like me were saying this, I'd only think he'd be mortified. The food is now just another bland, lifeless, almost tasteless restaurant among countless others in the neighborhood. As soon as we took the cartons out of the bag, we knew that it was not going to be good. And it wasn't.For DECADES, Bamboo was a go-to for many family functions. I have pictures of celebrations in the private room hanging in my house. That's all done. "Wanna go to Bamboo? Sure!" "How about some Bamboo take-out? Sure!" Nope, not anymore. Unless I hear that the new owner is going back to the old recipes and letting those cooks make the food as they did before, there is no point. What a f**king bummer, and a shame for ruining the legacy of one of the best chinese food spots in all of LA. I'm so sad about it. Sorry, Joseph. We wish you never sold.

I have been going to Bamboo for years but it seems that after the pandemic the quality of the food is a 1 star. I won't be returning. I do enjoy the Ambiance that's why I gave it a 2-star rating, but that's about it. Defiantly, they are using low quality ingredients. Quite honestly it was a rip off! So very sad to see it go down.
