Honestly have eaten here many times so this review is long overdue. Me and my husband have always craved ayce kbbq since we were younger but as years passed, eating ayce makes us feel icky after so this is now our go to kbbq spot. Getting the small beef combo for two people is the perfect portion size. From the looks of it, it may seem small but when you start grubbin', you realize it's just enough with all the other sides you get (i.e., corn cheese, egg, stew, banchan). Everything goes so well together and you don't feel TOO full after. The meat is high quality and the servers are trained to grill them well. Never really had a bad experience here tbh and we've eaten here many times. We usually go for early dinner to skip the line. This place gets PACKED so plan accordingly if you don't wanna wait. Highly recommend, def worth the hype in my opinion even tho it's a little pricey. You're definitely paying for quality.

I recently revisited Baekjeong Korean BBQ in Buena Park with a group of friends. This was my second time dining here, with my first visit being over a year ago. I was looking forward to trying it again, especially given its reputation. The quality of the meat was excellent--fresh and well-marinated with great flavor. However, one major downside was the way our meat was grilled. One of the servers who handled the grilling overcooked and even burned some of the meat, which was disappointing. Given the higher price point of this restaurant, I expected better execution. The wait time was reasonable, and the overall atmosphere was welcoming, which added to the dining experience. However, compared to other Korean BBQ spots, I find Baekjeong to be a bit overpriced for what it offers. While the quality is good, the value doesn't fully justify the cost. Overall, Baekjeong is still a solid choice for Korean BBQ, but for the price, I'd expect more consistency in service.

The wait wasn't too long on a Saturday night. The hostess said about 20 mins and she was pretty accurate.I like that all the proceeds on their cocktail is going straight to help the fire in la.The food was good as always. Their lychee green tea wasn't too sweet. Wish it had some extra ice.

My family and I came here on a Monday night for my mom's birthday dinner and as expected, there was no wait around 5:30pm and there was maybe 3 other tables that were already eating. I've been to Baekjeong multiple times, but this was the first time I've been to the Buena Park location (previously I've been to the Irvine and LA ones). Unfortunately, it will also be my last. Upon first entry, we noticed that it was SUPER COLD, like they had the AC BLASTING today. It probably was also colder since there weren't as many bodies and grills heating up the place. Nothing too bad though since you are sitting in front of a barbecue. We decided to get the new marinaded meat combo they had, which came with ribeye bulgogi, spicy pork belly, beef belly, hanger steak, and pork steak. We wanted to try this new combo they were advertising since we had already had their signature combo before, and we typically liked marinaded meats. Well perhaps it was a mistake. The combo was rather underwhelming, and this comes from someone who eats kbbq (the good kind, high quality meats, served ala carte lol) pretty darn often. First off, the ribeye bulgogi: it came cooked lol. I thought this was so strange that they cooked it in the kitchen for us...I will admit it was well marinaded and the ribeye was a good choice for bulgogi since it was super tender, but it got cold super fast since it was pre-cooked and left sitting on the plate in a cold room. Next was the spicy pork belly, which was also, cooked in the kitchen, to our confusion. The marinade for this one is really spicy so beware because it's not for the weak haha. Although I will say the marinade was well done, a nice balance of spicy and sweet, though they could have kicked the spice down a notch. The beef belly was the first thing they cooked on the stove, and it was okay. I've never been the biggest fan of thin cuts of meat like brisket or beef belly, so It was just okay to us. It was a little on the fatty side, but to be expected since it is beef belly. I will say it is more flavorful than brisket though, so I prefer this more. Next was the hanger steak, which we were really excited for, as the meat looked so red, fresh, and marbled. Hanger steak is also one of the better cuts of meat you can get, but it sadly fell short of expectations. The marinade is well executed - a nice sweet and salty flavor, like the one they use for galbi, but the quality of the meat is where it falls short. Although tender, the meat ended up being rather dry and not that flavorful. Lastly was the pork steak which was surprisingly better than we expected! It was our underdog favorite of the three meats they grilled for us, as it was nice and tender, and the meat was seasoned perfectly - slight sweet and salty. the combo also came with kimchi stew which was nothing special Furthermore, the thing that really docked some stars for us was the entire experience and the service we received, which was mediocre and rushed at best. The servers, who also grill the meat for us, were not very friendly and they did not do a good job of interacting with us. They mostly just walked up to the table, grabbed the tongs, moved the meat around, put away the tongs, and quickly left. They also were rather loud and careless, as they put the tongs back into its holder rather loudly and forcefully. When they cooked the meat for us, they were kind of just tossing the meat around everywhere, which made it spill over into the compartments holding the corn cheese/egg/veggies...it was rather sloppy work, and it also seemed like they were just rushing to finish cooking our meat. As soon as the meat was done cooking, they would push it all to the sides, on top of the corn cheese/veggies, and would just go straight into cooking the next meat. I was like chill omg I couldn't even get a moment to enjoy and finish the first meat before they moved on. And it was really only three meats they had to cook on the stove since they cooked the other two in the kitchen....so what were they rushing for.. the place was EMPTY TOO.. As I try more and more outstanding kbbq spots, this widely renouwned and popular option falls further and further down the rankings. if I was craving good kbbq served ala carte/combo style, I would probably not return to baekjeong, or at least not this location

Great quality meats, fast and kind service, and definitely cleaner than most Korean BBQ restaurants. It was our first time trying Baekjeong and we are glad to have found this place. We have been in search of low vent BBQ places for a long time and finally came across Baekjeong. The reason we were looking for low vent is because having an infant/toddler, too much smoke isn't ideal, so definitely grateful for their high quality vents here. It was the first time we had Korean barbecue and left the restaurant NOT smelling like smoke/greasy foods. Now, onto the food, the price points are definitely higher than most KKBBQ places, but you pay for the meat quality. We got the usual sides you get at AYCE kkbq joints, but portion is smaller which prevents food waste! Additionally, note, this is NOT an AYCE place, so just beware if that's what you're looking for. They have prefixed menus (combos) and we opted for combo 1 with beef option which was $82.00 + tax & tip = $103.11Again, you pay for quality and service. The server will cook for you which was awesome since we had our son with us. Imagine having to cook while entertaining your toddler. Overall, great experience, we will definitely be back next time when in the area. Thank you for the hospitality, Baekjeong!

I was sad when the LA K-Town location closed... However, I come to this location as it's close to my old home and family. We normally visit during the weekdays for lunch. I like the fact that there isn't much of a wait during the early afternoons. I have not been here for dinner, but I heard it gets really busy. I have visited the strip mall during the evenings and there was a long line for this establishment. This establishment is in the same strip mall of a car wash, H-Mart, Daiso, 85° Bakery, and more. The parking situation can get tricky as it's usually packed. This establishment is closer to the car wash. It's pretty open and not as smokey as other KBBQ establishments. We normally get the large combo and choose add-ons. It's usually more meat as our family don't really eat the rice. We also get the bean paste stew as it isn't too spicy. As a whole, the meat quality here is pretty consistent. The quality hasn't failed me yet. Also, I enjoy NOT cooking for myself! They cook your meat for you, unlike other KBBQ spots. I mean, why go out to eat to cook my own food?!

We came around 5:30 and were seated in 30 min. Our server was Sean W and we had a great time.We ordered Hodongs Favorite combo (small) and the beef combo (large) for 6 people. We ended up taking some meat home but it was more than enough for the table. The meat was all delicious and great quality, my favorites were the brisket, short rib, and pork belly. The sides were all great as well, and our server was always checking on us and refilling the egg/corn cheese. So glad we were also able to get their free soup on new years day! Its always lively inside and very fun atmosphere for groups.

Our food server, Gwanho, is so thoughtful and professional. He started greeting us with a warm smile and made our dining experience memorable. He realized my kids were loving their cheese corn. He is attuned to his customers. He refilled the cheese corn when it was done. My kids had a big smile on their faces. As a parent, one of the best and valuable service is when the food server makes kids feel welcome, belong, and valued. That food server is Gwanho. Ask for him next time you come to Baekjeong to get similar fantastic dining experience!

My friends and I like coming to baekjong for the food but today our server Gwanho was what pushed me to write a review. He was super sweet server and always had a smile when taking our extensive side dish requests. He's a great addition to the team and he made our meal that much more enjoyable. Thanks Gwanho!
