the BEST late night street tacos ever!!! This food stall has been my go to for years and will always be my go to in DTLA. I drive from 626 to here every time I wanna treat myself out to some authentic tacos! They are located in a parking lot near Little Tokyo with a taco stall, quesadilla bar, and drinks bar. You go up to order tacos and the best part is the self serve toppings. They have the BEST avocado salsa, and if you like spicy, they have the best habanero onions! I also forgot to mention that they also have potatoes you can get with the taco and those are probably also my favorite part.Service wise they get everything done quickly and they usually refill the toppings really fast if they're out. You'll see all the late night hangry people eating tacos in their car or they'll pop their trunk open and eat tacos with friends. Love the vibes! I will forever luv u avenue 26

Used to be 5 stars, 4 stars only because they are open everyday never closed and hours are longer than all other taco stands. However prices are usually more expensive by like a quarter each for tacos. As of Feb 2025 it's around $2.25 or $2.50 per tacoThere is a credit card price or fee too.Burrito quesadilla line is separate. They have lots of parking and usually never have problem. They don't have a normal tomatillos avocado salsa. They only do a jalapeño spicy salsa. So don't get it confused with the other stalls same creamy green color. It's spicy here. The main gripe here is the cilantro and onions ratio is more like 80% onions and 20% cilantro. Pre mixed. Personally I like it when the onions and cilantro are separated since I like a ratio of 70% cilantro 30% onionsNo tripa here either.

A staple in LA, Avenue 26 always delivers amazing, fresh street tacos that consistently hits your taste buds and gives you that LA experience. Whenever you come here, you will always be surrounded by a good amount of people and groups that are hanging out on a weekend night. They're open till late so you'll see a lot of people who come here after a night out, clubbing, or coming back from an event. It's a very well rounded experience.Food: Their Al pastor and carne asada are both fire! I love that they also give you those potato balls for free and have all the sides/salsas unlimited for your enjoyment. I always get a nice heaping of grilled onions, peppers, and the green/red salsas. Be cautious about this eir creamy green salsa because it's actually a lot spicier than you would expect. Their agua frescas are also refreshing and a perfect pairing to wash it all down. I've had their pina and horchata - both solid! Value: so they've actually steadily raised prices since i first came here many years ago. It's to be expected, but still gets me a little sad when each taco is now $2.50. I remember when it used to be so much cheaper... and getting a horchata or pina with it adds another 5 dollars. So a full meal of 4 tacos+drink is a little over 15 dollars which honestly is not that good of value compared to some other taco spots you can find in the area. Some negatives: There's some things that I think are lacking. Last time I was there, they did not have pineapple. For all the al pastor lovers out there, you know the Al pastor+pineapple combo. Other taco spots in LA have it, so I'm pretty disappointed that Ave 26 doesn't. I also kind of hate that they just have the salsas and sides(pepper/grilled onions/etc) out in the open the way they do. I know it's a street taco place but I'll be honest, it seems so gross and disgusting/unsanitary. I am pretty grossed out, but I'll still eat it cause it tastes so good... Overall, it's a cool experience that you need to take your friends who are not in LA to. The food is good and will always consistently be solid. BUT you're in LA and to be honest, there are so many taco spots in the area that I personally think are better or just as good/comparable (Leo's, el flamin, el chato). So that's why I have to give this a 3.9/5. Follow my ig for some good recs! @califoodsquad

Avenue 26 is a no-frills taco spot that delivers some of the best tacos I've ever had! It's not a traditional restaurant--they cook the meat in a parking lot, and you grab your order before paying. After that, you head over to the self-serve salsa bar to load up on toppings. The spicy green sauce is packed with flavor (definitely worth trying!), and the radishes are perfect for cooling things down after. The tacos are seriously amazing--full of flavor and unbeatable for the price. I got four tacos for just $10, and enjoyed them in the trunk of my car since there's no seating. Honestly, I didn't mind one bit. If you're looking for authentic, delicious tacos, this spot is a must-visit!

Came here back in September with my husband on a weekend trip to LA to check out Little Tokyo. Huge parking lot, but it was packed when we got there and the sheer amount of activity makes the lot a little hectic to navigate, so plan accordingly. The line is long but it moves very fast, probably one of the fastest lines I've ever been in. So have your order ready. You can watch your tacos being made in front of you as you move down the line and choose your meats and toppings. Amazing how fast these dudes move.I got one chicken and one al pastor taco, and loaded up on all of the salsas at the salsa bar. I love that they serve potatoes here, which I've never seen at any taco truck or taqueria here in the Bay Area. The vegetables were nicely grilled, not overly soft, and were perfect with the meat. The tacos are delicious and extremely affordable and the staff work very hard to run a tight ship here. Would happily come back the next time I make a visit down to LA.

An LA staple. From the before time when they were actually in Avenue 26 to now resting between Arts District and Little Tokyo, all remains the same except for the prices ($2.25/taxo, used to be $1 back then). With various meat options, it's hard to go wrong. Just make sure you ask for a potato (free) and also grab yourself the grilled onions and peppers. Their green guacamole salsa is the best, don't get anything else. Their horchata has definitely grown smaller and more expensive over the years at $5 but still is a necessity. When I find myself in the area after a night out, Ave 26 is a must.

I think I just found my new go-to spot for delicious tacos in LA!I love how everything is setup here! The street food stall is located in a big parking lot and you can park there for free! I went on a Friday night and I was able to secure a spot quickly. Getting the food was also quick and easy too! I got 5 tacos with different meats and I was given them super quickly! I like how they run things super quick which helps with the crowd control since I can see this place being very popular. Paying was simple too and they take card which is nice. The tacos were also super cheap. I got 5 tacos for $12, such a great deal! The toppings such as the salsas and veggies are self serve which is nice so you can control the portion. I love how the grilled onions were soft serve. The tacos themselves were very delicious. All the meats were tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. If I had to pick my favorite meats, I'd say the pastor and chorizo were my favorites. The corn tortillas were nice and soft and held everything relatively well. The sauces and veggies also complimented the tacos well in both flavor and texture. I also love the complimentary boiled potato you get for each order. Super unique!I also got an horchata for $5 and it was just okay for me. Wasn't the biggest fan of the grainy residue on the bottom of the cup.I am definitely coming back here again and I'm going to bring my friends and family here.

I always enjoyed this taco stand. This taco place is set up on the street of Alameda in Little Tokyo. They have a big parking lot where you can get your food and eat in the backseat of your trunk. Today, I went with a friend. Tacos were $2.25 a piece. I decided on two asada and two al pastor. Your order, pay, and load up on the sauces and condiments. Don't forgot to get a small potatoes to go with your tacos. Easy and fast. They do take credit card or cash. Overall, great place for tacos.

This spot was on my social feed for an extended period of time a while back, and maybe I didn't order the right things but I wasn't wow-ed. It wasn't bad but it's not something I'd go out of my way to get or recommend to a friend. I'll admit that my expectations were definitely higher because of how often I kept hearing about ave 26 and the fact that the parking lot was full of people. There was a small line of people but man do they have logistics down - we were in out of there in about 5 mins.We got the Al pastor and asada tacos and I really couldn't tell the difference in taste between the two which was weird. The taco truck I usually go to has pineapples to go with Al pastor and the asada at the other spot had more of a Smokey flavor to it, so flavors fell short for me. After we got our tacos we hit the salsa bar and be warned! The red onions are SPICY!!! As I was loading up on onions and cilantro, I heard someone ask which was not the spicy salsa and another customer bluntly said that it varies each day how spicy each sauce was. The grilled onions were delicious tho - we were really happy with those!Bring napkins and some water to wash your hands, that helped us clean up from digging in with our hands hahah.
