O.M.G. their salted soy pudding with seaweed (A+++) is out of this world! Some say it's salty but I think it's perfection! I have ordered this item 3 times now and will keep ordering it 'cuz it's become one of my top 10 favorite dishes! The hairy crab noodles with roe (A+) is also a standout! The noodles are nothing to rave about it's all about the orange crab roe sauce! It's a bit on the pricey side but baby you live once so enjoy tantalizing your tastebuds once in awhile! The pork & crab Shao Long Bao (B+) had crab essence! It's not as flavorful as Good Alley but it's getting there! It needs more real crab in there! Still better than most but I need that crab umami to burst out of the bao! This wasn't on the menu last time I ordered think it's seasonal.Pan fried dumplings (A) are just like the ones from Kang Kang food court! Make sure you get the wet ones and not the dry ones. You want that hot juice to burn your tongue! Just kidding!! WAIT for it to cool a bit 'cuz I have burned my tongue on them on a few occasions that's how you know it's fresh pipping hot out of the pan! Parking is in the back where Saigon Eden and Borneo is or you can park in the structure as well. I've not dine indoors yet but you can see them make the dumplings in-house thru the glass panel. Service was prompt and I always got my order on time. This mom/pop shop has an eclectic interior and I must say their menu is just as unique!

Happened upon this place as we were walking around DT Alhambra after missing the LNY festivities. Was getting hungry so as we walked past this place, they had neon signs of popular food items that really caught BF's attention so let's give it a try! Check in at the register, if you are dining in, they will seat you at a table with QR code. You can view and place your order directly online. Chinese and English available. A1. Pan Fried Pork Bao - this was delicious nice QQ, and plenty of soup! Comparable to PPPOP. H1. Cold soy milk - I really enjoyed this, slightly thicker consistency to store bought soy milk but BF says it's nothing compared to Taiwan... But we're NOT in Taiwan are we! C5. Pancake, egg, lettuce, fritters, and beef - this dish took the longest to arrive and we were nearly done with all our food by the time it actually arrived. Sadly, it was the most disappointing dish of the evening. I guess I was expecting more egg and some crispy pancake ish? I didn't care for this dish. E2. Scallion oil noodles - hands down our favorite dish of the evening! Really nice umami flavor but it was the QQ noodles that stole the show! Great texture, great flavors. Too greasy but it's in the name.A3. Pork XLB - comparable to most XLB, $11 for 8pcs is a pretty good deal too! Can't wait to come back and try some of their other noodle dishes!! Wish they had more protein offers like the Arcadia location tho

Date of visit: 1/29/2025 (Lunar new year lunch time)Wish I looked at the paper menu instead of the online menu. Paper menu shows which the signature dishes are; I believe online menu doesn't. DO ORDER THESE: - crab pork XLB: authentic Shanghai XLB! Very very good! Skin is not the thinnest but has very good texture. - gluten puff in Shanghai style: came out hot, it was so good! - pan fried pork bun: not your everyday pan fried pork bun as it's not really bun but more like thin bun-like layer covering the meat filling. It's good as it's not as heavy as a real bun would be. Filling very juicy and flavorful. Eat it like you do XLB: hold soup spoon with your left hand, chopstick the bun with your right hand and bite a little hole on the bun, pour the juice on your spoon and enjoy the yummy broth before eating the rest of the bun. - corn shrimp paste cake: very very good! I love these! - spicy diced pork: very tasty and not spicy at all for meDO NOT ORDER THESE: - scallion oil dry noodle: bland! noodle was way overcooked. - bean curd wrapped pork & vermicelli soup: bland. The bean curd wrap was way too thick. Desserts I ordered:- osmanthus ice jelly: not bad. Not too sweet which is always a plus on my book, but honestly I've had better elsewhere - iced lily and mung bean soup: it comes with a ball of sticky rice in the middle. I like the mung bean but not too crazy with the sticky rice. I believe this is my first time having sticky rice dessert with a clear thin sweet soup like this. Usually sticky rice dessert comes with thicker sauce....All in all I like this restaurant and will def come back and try their signature noodle dishes!

Definitely an interesting experience since I don't get to try Shanghainese Chinese cuisine often. From the flavors of the Xiao Long Bao and Curry Beef Noodle Soup, I was getting the "SAME-SAME, BUT DIFFERENT" experience. Like I've tried something similar, but it's slightly different here.5/5 for Xiao long bao. Very soupy when you pop it open on your soup spoon and sip. Gentle umami flavor. They give more ginger strips to enjoy with the soup dumplings to help cut through the porky flavor. Skin of the dumplings were perfect - did not break when picked up and not too thick. Would get again.3/5 for Curry Beef Noodle Soup. Noodles are thin egg noodles. A few pieces of thinly sliced beef and 2 leaves of bokchoy lol... Slight curry flavor with thin soup consistency. It tasted like beef soup mixed with curry powder. It's different compared to many other curry noodle soups I have tried. Would not get again.3/5 for Seasonal Crab Roe Noodles. This dish was okay... Think a remix on Uni pasta dish but with crab roe and lighter in creaminess and heaviness, served on thin noodles. You definitely taste the crab roe and the crabby flavor. I usually like crab dishes but this dish was very strong in flavor. They offer a side of vinegar to add to your dish and it does cut down on the super strong crabby flavor which made it more palatable for me. Would not get again.Love the interior design and ambiance is calm and quiet. A small getaway in the local area that transports you to some neighborhood of chinese (I guess it's Shanghai).Overall Service was good. They give you a water pitcher so you dont have to constantly ask for water. Menu can be seen with the QR code and you place your order on your phone. Staff were nearby so they can attend to you when needed. Their menu offers a couple of dimsum items too. I would come back to check those out next time.

12/25/2024 - This is a newly opened restaurant specializing in Shanghai dim sum in Alhambra, 10 miles away from downtown Los Angeles. Recently, the owner added six more tables to reach a total of 18 in order to dramatically reduce a long waiting line on weekends.Surprisely, the taste of many popular dishes are very disappointing. See the rating of each item listed below:Potsticker W. Pork (鲜肉锅贴) - 2 starsPork Mini Wonton Casserole (砂锅鲜肉小馄饨) 3 starsBraised Vegetarian (红烧素鸡浇头) - 5 starsFried White Radish Cake (萝卜丝油墩子) - 1 star - The appearance looks outstanding but the filling looks like undercooked, and taste is awful and slimy. Asked a waitress what it happened, she said this is normal. Curry Beef Panfried Bun (咖喱牛肉煎包) - 4 starsIf the owner does not improve the quality of three items referenced above, she may lose many repeating customers quickly.Note: You can park at the public parking lot across the street for 4 hours for free or the shared lot behind the restaurant if you can find.

This is a local Shanghainese food Gem! I have been looking for a truly authentic Shanghainese food spot for years. This is the closest you can get in the US for real Shanghainese style dim sum and noodles. Went with my mother really close to the closing time. The staff still greeted us warmly and took our orders. The service was fantastic. In true Asian fashion, we ordered almost everything in each category of the menu. Highly highly recommend the spring roll! It's what we called a wet style fried spring roll. You can't get this taste as well as the soup inside of the spring roll anywhere else. 11/10. (I even ordered another $50 dollar worth of frozen ones to take home) Highly recommend the Guotie (the pan fried dumplings). The meat and scallion inside are extremely well seasoned. Savory, and the crust is extremely crunchy and crispy. Just trust me, get that for sure. Especially when you ask the waitress to get you the fresh batch. It's soooo good. The noodles got very great portioning. I would say if you are just getting lunch, one order of any noodles would fill you. I would categorize the Xiao Long Bao here: the authentic mildly sweet style. It's juicy and the skin is tender and thin . Parking is a little tough. Luckily there is a parking structure behind the establishment. Happy food happy life :)

Delicious as always! My personal favorite are the scallion pancakes, they're a lot fluffier and less greasy than typical scallion pancakes. The pan fried pork buns are also delicious, but the pork soup dumplings are even better. Personally, I like to wait until they've cooled off a lot and become creamier inside. The ordering system is great, but I wish they offered WiFi. My phone actually won't load the page while I'm there just on data, but my boyfriend's will. (Verizon vs T Mobile). It's a very cute shop inside, they've captured the feeling of a food cart experience with the decorations and artwork.

Another hipsters Shanghai cafe opened up on Main St in Alhambra. They have colorful wall decor and bright lights inside. Plenty of seatings as well. I really enjoyed their soup dumpling even although their dough is a bit on the thicker side. Another great dish was their egg pancake stuffed with lettuce and Chinese donut. This dish was an entree on its own as the portion was huge! Make sure to dip this with their chili sauce. You can order everything through their QR code which was nice and seamless. There are disposable cups ready at your table and a server will bring you water. Service was pretty fast and decent.

food was delicious! would def come back. i was studying next door at three fields when we got hungry and walked past this place. maybe i'm biased, but the demographic of customers is a big indicator to me and safe to say that we made a good choice. the overall vibe was amazing, it felt like i was stepping into another environment all together. you order from a qr code and the food comes out fairly quickly!

Pretty authentic Shanghainese food, according to my Shanghainese friend. We ordered petite wonton soup (the 'noodle' thing is actually egg), pan fried bao (only $5 for 6), pork chop rice cake -- my friend loved them all. I found the pork chop rice cake smothered in too much sweet soy sauce paste. The pan fried bao was very juicy but Kang Kang Food Court still wins the taste test. The dining room walls are covered with old Shanghai photos and nostalgic stuff. Pretty neat!
