Refreshed review as we've been here multiple times before but kinda went downhill after COVID with the outdoor seating and seemed the sushi was a bit subpar too. They now got rid of the outdoor seating and everything is back inside. The sushi is still some of the best, just as it was. The adornments on the nigiri are very creative. There are 3 types of omakase and we did the sushi omakase which comes with 14 pieces, and appetizers and miso soup. We also got the lava cake desert and did feel it was more than enough food. The other omakase courses I remember had even more food and then more extravagant dishes, but a bit too much to eat for us these days. Service was very attentive and efficient. Ambiance was nice inside, can get a bit noisy and crowded as the space is small, but very classy. Tables and chairs are also quite upscale. One thing I would say is I agree with another reviewer- the sushi omakase plates are served 7 at a time, and wish they would slow them down a bit and divide the portions into fewer sushi pieces at one time - at least for the sushi omakase.

Came here with a buddy after a Six Flags trip since it was on the way back home. Called to get a reservation same day and got seated at the sushi bar. We found street parking not too far but the area can be a little tricky. The sushi bar sits about 8 ppl and they also had some tables as well. I always choose the bar if I can cuz I love interacting with the chefs. We both opted for their sushi omakase course and it did not disappoint!! The best experience was probably with the sushi chefs and manager. They were absolute hoots and were just an absolute great time. The sushi itself was also to die for. I loved the sea bass miso soup, the fish was buttery and melted in my mouth. I pretty much loved all the nigiri except for the mackerel which isn't general is not really my favorite. They were all seasoned perfectly with really great accoutrements that paired well with each fish. We even got some dessert and the staff was nice enough to include samplers of all their different handmade ice creams when we couldn't decide which kind to get. And it was all delicious. I honestly cannot wait to come back again, I would rank this top 3 of sushi places I've been to when you contemplate the quality, price, and service/experience. Loved it and honestly can't wait to come back again.

Classic, super efficient sushi spot. The $140 omakase took about 30 min. Enjoyed the scallop salad and mushroom miso soup that started off the omakase course. The uni and the tuna from Spain were standouts. Could have done without the white fish that was on the chewy, muscular side - overpowered by citrus. Overall a solid omakase course and fast service. Generous portions of fish. Ambiance was nothing particularly unique; I did notice the edges of sushi display case could be cleaner as the ends of my sushi sometimes ended up on there when it was placed on the dish by the chef. I called at 5:30 pm on a weekday and was able to get a 7 pm reso same night at the sushi counter.

Sushi at its best! Seating by the bar definitely helped as I see them prepare the sushi. Fish looks and tastes fresh.Let me warn you though it is pricey but for me it's worth a try, my eldest son who cannot do no wrong in my eyes - requested to try this sushi place and I'm happy to oblige. It's been a couple of weeks since we ate here but I kept some photos for reference. Hyu was handling our orders and what's good with sitting on the bar is that you see all these amazing sushi they prepare. The price is per sushi so it's easy to rack up on the bill. We are still a little under for me to think we should've done the omakase. Since it's just 2 of us we ordered several types of sushi and a couple of sushi rolls. We shared a soup and dessert. We also had hot green tea. The cheapest omakase is $140, they also serve wagyu. Servers and sushi chefs are great and when you can definitely sit by the bar. The place is small so reservation is a must. I called my reservation in a day before for a Saturday night 7:30pm seating. Busy area so unless you over or get dropped off there you'll have to shell out extra $$ for valet.

I'm back for the 90 millionth time and it's always nice to be greeted by Manny and Tetsu who is the humble owner and Michelin rated chef! The sashimi is always phenomenal and the oshinko is my favorite non sushi dish. It's really expensive but soooooo worth it!!!

Came here on a recommendation for a birthday dinner. Valet parking only but we street parked nearby. Tiny spot in a lot shared with another restaurant - the space fills up quickly and a reservation is recommended but you need to call to get one. Omakase looked interesting but we really just wanted to go for the things most interesting to us so we ordered a la carte. Be prepared to spend when you're here, but the great part is that it's actually worth it. The sticker price on the sashimi was hard to get past but it was SO GOOD I had no regrets about ordering it.

Had a lovely dinner at Asanebo! We had an amazing server, Meme, who went above and beyond and provided EXCEPTIONAL service. The fish was so fresh and just melts in your mouth, everything was great quality. They even make their sesame ice cream in house.. I will be back.

Everything was awesome until the check arrived. Servers were attentive, friendly and fast. Food was out of this world. The place was small and crowded. Wish I had a thousand dollars to eat there.

Best sashimi/sushi in the neighborhood. Service was also quite lovely. This restaurant is located in a tiny strip mall with valet only parking. You can also find plenty of street parking. We skipped the omakase as they were all sushi selections and opted for a la carte sashimi. Photos below note everything we ordered but the standouts were:. scallop citrus yuzu . Mirugai (geoduck). Toro SashimiThough the sea bass miso soup and Hirame Truffle are recommended by others, I wouldn't necessarily order those again. The server does a great job of making suggestions and announcing the plates when served. Tip: Restaurant has small seating capacity so a reservation is the way to go. 4% service fee (presumably for credit card)

This place is definitely a culinary experience not to miss out on. I left this place absolutely joyous after what was definitely one of the best meals I have had in recent times. The flavor explosion for this meal is definitely one for the books and you bet ya girl will be returning. Now for what you all came here for....drumroll....First up is the sunomono salad with crab. This was a very nice way to start my meal. The crab was plentiful in ratio to the seaweed and cucumbers and there was plenty of dressing to accompany every bit. Who doesn't like enough dressing in their salad to cover every bite? Next came the Hamachi Special which was a perfect blend of a citrusy flavor due to the Spicy Citrus Soy Sauce as well and salty. Next up is the unagi sushi. If you've ever had unagi and you're a fan like me, this dish does not need a review. I unagi. The crab special roll is a crab roll that comes with mayonnaise and either ponzu or yuzu mixed into the crab (sorry, I forgot which one). I personally didn't pick up any of the ponzu/yuzu flavor but it was great nonetheless. The Tai Yuzu (snapper) was also a citrusy flavor explosion that came with pepper paste. The two flavors melded perfectly. Don't go heavy on the pepper paste as it is a bit salty - little goes a long way. The ono and halibut sushi also paired well as prepared. No need for soy sauce. The wagyu was simply perfection! There was no need to use any of the condiments it came with. My only issue with this dish is that it was put "on hold" so it wasn't exactly too warm when I received it. Still was tasty af though. Dessert wasn't a must have but I did it anyways. Nothing to write home about. Feel free to skip dessert.I was on the fence regarding doing the omakase but I always worry that what will be chosen for me will not meet my standards as if I had made the choices myself. I know, control issues lol. So, I went a la carte and do not regret any of my choices. All of the items you see pictured were consumed by one person - ya girl. This part is for the boys. Boys, don't bring a girl here to try to impress her unless you have the bread - see the bill. This is place is not cheap. Men, you already know how to treat a woman right. Tips: Make ressies. This place is small and they do ask for the table back after 90 mins. Parking here is not easy as it is Studio City - valet is $9. Lastly, dishes are meant to be eaten as prepared so don't go ruining a perfectly great piece of sushi with soy sauce - the staff will recommend how it should be eaten.
