WHEW the food is good. I ordered the classic chicken n waffles and it was probably the best Ive tasted in a while. The waffles have the perfect fluff and tenderness to them and holds in the syrup really well. The chicken was crispy and not too oily which was perfect in my opinion. Service was great! One of the waitresses kinda took long to bring me a hot sauce but nevertheless it was brought out. Everyone is very welcoming and friendly. There's also a wine shop connected to it! Ambiance was great! Maybe a little noisy but nothing crazy. Cozy lil spot.

I came here for brunch to celebrate galentines with my gf's and I really enjoyed myself and ambiance!! The food was pretty good and fair prices! The drink I ordered was the Lemoncello drink that is similar to a lemon drop. I also tried some wine that was very good called Mary Grenache. I ordered the shrimp and grits for my entree and it was very good the grits were a lil cold but it was no problem they fixed it super fast! Also, a con was that they do not take the shell off of the shrimp so be prepared to take off. No big deal but just FYI. However, good service!! Which let me begin to talk about the exceptional service! They are super friendly and don't rush you out at all! We were there for a very long time and they did not bother us when shift and menu changed to dinner. Plus, the owner is very humble, hardworking , good personality, and welcoming! This place is definitely a vibe! I'm so happy that I got a chance to try here during black history month! Also, right next door is the wine bar that is quite phenomenal with happy hour. The wine selection is amazing, which is mostly women black owned. It's also very cute inside with AMAZING R&B songs that are played!!! Very modern and good for any type of celebrations! They also have events here that I will come to attend! Valet parking is $10.00 and they also have street parking! I will definitely come back here! For dinner and to go next door to the wine bar!! I highly recommend!

The good: The hostess was lovely, the music was great and the decor is beautiful. The cornbread was a little dry but the butter saved it for sure! Their Peri Peri Prawns special was good just a little messy when you remove the shells. The bad: For $33 the blackened salmon looked undercooked to us. Our waiter did not bring out our food or check on us after it arrived so, we had to ask the hostess if this was how it normally looked, she said yes. We saw the hostess more than our waiter. She is the one who not only brought out our food, she refilled our water, cleared the table, brought us a box, took our dessert order and brought that out. Another waiter brought our bill and we only saw our waiter when we'd put our card down. There's also a surcharge to pay with card vs cash which is another conversation. I hope the service improves and the prices better reflect what's on the plate.

*** A solid spot for hearty food & drinks. ***Alta does a fine job of making everything imo. It's my favorite spot to stop in the Adams area.*** Plenty of street prkg, or valet for $10. ***

I walked in on a weeknight and it was busy, but not so busy I wasn't able to get seated at the bar right away. I have to say I really loved my experience. The place had a chill vibe and there was a great sense of hospitality. I ordered a drink to start. Their version of a dirty martini. Delicious. As for the food, I was trying to order on the smaller side and try a few things. But I kind of stuck to the Soulfood Classics. I ordered three-piece fried chicken, some collard greens, and the cornbread. I'm not sure if it was because I was really hungry that night, but everything tasted exceptional. The food was well seasoned without being too salty. The fried chicken had a nice crunch and the cornbread and that butter was wonderful.Even for a weeknight, I would say the parking is pretty hard to come by in that area. I was able to find a spot about three blocks away though.

Food: the food at Alta is always going to be good from the cornbread appetizer to the dessert to the drinks! I was so happy I finally got to try the oxtails which they usually sell out of and I understand why they were so tender, it fell off the bone.Service: the people sitting at our reserved table were having a great time and wouldn't get up. The staff was so apologetic and took care of us. They even gave us some free champagne, which was so sweet. Our server was so nice and explained all the popular items. He knew his ish.Ambiance: Ulta is always a vibe. From the music to the people to the art it's a great place to take people from out of town.Parking: parking in this neighborhood is tough, but they have valet so you'll be OK.

I'm unsure how the heck the average rating for Alta Adams is not AT LEAST a 4.5 or above!!! There's plenty of free street parking in the surrounding street or you have the ease of valet right in front. The aesthetic of restaurant is super cute with different textures/design material. Customer service was 10/10 with great recommendations and service. And really the reason we all should be coming here is for the FOOD (my god). I came here with two girlfriends and I highly recommend ordering a bunch of things and sharing family style. Also they change their menu every single day based on the market which I thought was really unique. We ordered: broccoli, red beans and rice, cornbread with honey butter, you MUST get the mac n cheese (non negotiable), salad, garlic-herb fries, fried chicken, house smoked brisket w/ their homemade apple bbq sauce (my personal fave) and the vegan chocolate sundae (for my fellow non dairy/VG girlies) and the Chef's Apothecary (chef's kiss NA mocktail).

I came here today to grab brunch and the food and service were outstanding. Our server was very helpful, funny and just a ray of sunshine shine. They were very quick, took care of details and kept us informed every step of the way and glasses full. Between my friend and I we had two cocktails- here the mermaid and me the apothecary - mine was very ginger forward, but refreshing. I had the cornmeal pancakes with chicken and she had the oxtails with grits, collards and cornbread and we had deviled eggs to share. But as usual we tried each other's food. In order of absolute delight I would say the oxtails and grits took the award. So tender, so flavorful as a person who is team "sweet grits" these I could get behind! They were cooked perfectly and creamy. The chicken was cooked to perfection and seasoned very well. So they get my 2nd place. The pancakes were good- the syrup they came with was amazing! The cornbread fell apart as I cut it, it was good, but I like mine a little more dense less fluff. The deviled eggs and collards were good. The only reason this isn't full stars (I hate to even write this! But I hope management can take note)- we sat on the cute outdoor back patio, the vibes were perfect - but if you are a magnet for bug bites like I am you will get but. No sooner than is at down I started feeling the bites. I am guessing they are "noseeums" because I didn't see any but could feel them and definitely left with 4-5 bites all over my ankles and calves. It was sad because we wanted to stay and enjoy the food but I couldn't, I was itching and didn't want more bites. I asked if they had any spray, they didn't. I realize you can't control the outdoors so I don't what this to be on them- but maybe plant some replant plants or some natural repellants in the plant area may help. I say all this to say, don't avoid this place, the food is on point, but bring some spray or sit inside.

Ah. Not great but not terrible. I've heard mixed reviews over the years and now that I've visited, I have mixed feelings. This review is for dinner. I hear brunch is good. I would like to return and try brunch and the signature cocktails, they all sounded good. Service was great, appreciate our server's humor and recommendations. Cute decor, nice space. Outside terrace is cute, few tables are wobbly. Never understood why restaurants don't put levelers under the table legs. THE FOOD: overall, good attempts, but missed the mark. Lovely presentation. Overpriced for taste and portion size. Unfortunately, nothing was so good it makes want to run back. Blackened Salmon - the best thing we tried, delicious and creative. Although the medium-rare was very much medium, still was good. The salmon piece was on the small side. The potatoes were perfect and the little curry sauce drizzle and the bottom was everything. Oxtails - So good. I don't care for oxtails at all, but these were definitely a highlight, cooked and seasoned well without being salty and sloppy. Would like of there was something creative done to the brown rice it odd served with, or at least more gravy to enjoy the plain rice. Collard Greens - no. Absolutely not. Missing all the things. Rather have had them sautéed with garlic. Cornbread loaf - was just a cornbread loaf. Wish it came warmer, the butter was nice. Black eyed peas Fritters - good with the serving sauce. The sauce was really good. Fritters were creative and a good shareable appetizer. Fried Chicken - did not live up to its hype. It's just basic fried chicken and expensive baby size pieces and No breast meat option. Cooked well, sure. Nice crisp, sure. But lacked seasoning to make it stand. It's just looked sad. The hot sauce was really good...and needed on the chicken. Chocolate Banana Bread - oh man, so much promise, but super dry.
