This Ramen is unique and different most Ramen I've had and is now placed on my top fiveI had the Yuzu shoyu which was the bomb! And my husband had the tonkatsu which was the best!

Loved it here!Came in for a DineLA week and was thoroughly impressed. Started with the ramen eggs and crispy bok choi - both of which were unique and delicious.Had the special duck and chicken soup with a soba-type noodle which was flavorful and filling but not to much.I had the cherries cocktail which tasted just like cherry pie filling - in the best way!Our server was great and we were seated promptly. Note that they will only seat you for a reservation when your whole party is present. Would absolutely come back!

The inside of Afuri is beautiful - it's new, well-decorated, and super sleek and modern. There's a nice bar too. It's located in the back of the Culver Steps center, so make sure to walk around from the Salt and Straw. The menu had quite a few options, but I was a little disappointed that most of the ramen came with pork (to substitute with chicken is $2 extra). I got the yuzu shoyu ramen. It was a good size portion, but I thought that the broth was too salty. I also thought the noodles were a little off, a bit wheat-like and not the texture I expected. This wasn't my favorite dish, but maybe some of the hand rolls/apps are good!

This place is hard to find (it's behind salt and straw) but once you find this spot, you'll appreciate that's it's away from the traffic and the noise. I came here with some of my girlfriends for some ramen. They have plenty of gluten free options without compromising the taste. The hotate carpaccio is and the fruit salad is a must! I can't remember which ramen I got but with a little hot sauce it was good! Service was great! Plenty of parking on the street and the small garage available. I came on a Sunday so it was free street parking(it secretly gives me joy) Go try this spot. You won't regret it!

Looking for some tasty soup and noodles after too many cocktails the night before and Afuri hit the spot!In addition to the spicy Tankatsu Tantamen with ramen, the Buta Gyoza and the soft shell crab roll were a pleasant surprise. I would skip the spicy karage, a bit too much sauce.

Given the caliber of reviews I'd seen on here, I had high hopes for Afuri. I came with one other person and were seated at the bar. Though the bartender taking our order was nice, we weren't given utensils or napkins--we had to ask for both separately.My friend ordered a salmon roll but was given a salmon hand roll instead. I ordered a Tonkotsu Shio ramen bowl, and though it tasted pretty good, I was really disappointed to see that it came with only one, thin slice of pork belly. One. For an $18 bowl of ramen. The bowl itself was also very small, especially by the standards of ramen places.Overall I'm pretty stunned at the poor quality of food & service we received at Afuri--maybe it was an off night, but something to keep in mind if you're thinking of visiting.

Stopped in for a quick lunch on Sunday afternoon. Enjoyed the clean, chic space, friendly service, and satisfying meal!Tonkotsu shio: Broth was flavorful and creamy, without being heavy. Noodles were perfect -- loved the thinner cut, fresh, chewy. Tender piece of chashu and jammy soft boiled egg.We also tried the crispy ramen egg which was a tasty, crunchy, fun little starter. In addition, the Afuri roll was fresh and tasty and balanced our meal well. Would love to come back and try their other yuzu ramen or tsukemen!

I had the prix fix with duck ramen. Every course was delicious. And, Steven Lee and his crew delivered great service. Great spot for lunch or dinner.

Afuri was so tasty. Our server, Dom, was rad and knowledgeable in guiding our dinner experience. The housemade ramen noodles were my favorite. I'll be back to try out more of the menu!
