Our first visit to AB Shabu was a hit! This is the first hot pot spot I've been to that offers fried rice as an option, which was a nice surprise. We ordered pork belly and Angus beef, and both were excellent--fresh and tender. I chose the spicy miso broth, and it was packed with flavor. The sauce bar is another great touch, allowing us to customize our dipping sauces to our taste. Overall, everything was fresh, delicious, and well thought out. Can't wait to come back!

I met a friend here for a quick Shabu meal and it was wonderful and light. The layout was efficient for them to bring you dishes and control the setting for the pot when you aren't sitting at the table. Small section for the sauces, but good enough for what I needed and wanted.I forgot to take a picture but overall I enjoyed it! Parking is tough during busy times though!

Before I begin, I want to give a brief overview of what authentic "shabu-shabu" is. In Japan, where shabu-shabu originated, the broth typically consists of plain water with a few pieces of kombu (kelp). Some might wonder, what advantage does such a nearly flavorless broth have over the rich and flavorful Chinese hot pot? The strength of Japanese shabu-shabu lies in its emphasis on the quality and taste of the meat itself. Paired with dipping sauces, you can savor the rich, natural flavor of the meat. This is why, even as a fan of Chinese hot pot, shabu-shabu still holds a special place in my heart. Only restaurants that lack confidence in their ingredients would encourage you to choose a heavily seasoned broth. Now the main content:I give this place 2 stars as the service is okay. It might be a ok place for family as it's child/elders friendly, but as a restaurant, I think it's just not good and I just don't see its value. My wife and I came here for dinner. My wife ordered their seafood set, which was around $30, and I ordered their rib-eye slices, also over $30. Their broth and meat slices were average at best, just passable. The most disappointing thing was the selection in the seafood set. It consisted of a few slices of salmon, a few shrimp, some tiny mussels, and some imitation crab sticks and fish cakes to fill the plate. For the same amount of money, I would rather go to Boiling Point for their seafood pot. Although I don't want to say this, shabu-shabu might be one of the least skill-intensive cuisines out there, because all you need to do is prepare the broth and ingredients--there's not even a need for someone to cook it. If the savings from this aren't reflected in better ingredients, I don't see why I shouldn't just buy the broth and ingredients from a supermarket and make it myself. There won't be a second visit.

This is a solid spot. I frequent here because it is so good, but so simple. I love that this place feels family run. The meat quality here has always been excellent. The soup faces they have here just a touch of flavor, which I prefer something not too heavy. They have a sauce bar so you can go up and make your own sauces. The service here is always excellent. I definitely recommend this if you're looking for a simple shabu spot. The portions feel a little smaller than other restaurants, but I think that is a good thing. You get just enough food. I hope they bring back their coffee, jelly dessert !

I've been craving shabu shabu for a while so I made a reservation at AB for my husband, cousin and myself. With a reservations was easier because we did not wait. First, the waitress was very helpful with the menu, she clarified any questions and gave us tips like Rib-eye portion was small small so to order the medium instead. We were able to get yup and mix out doing sauce, I recommend the ponzu, so delicious. We ordered karaage which was delicious. My husband got fried rice and he said it was great, comparable to fresh Benihana fried rice. We got white rice. We got pork belly and rib eye, the meat was very fresh. All the veggies was colorful and fresh as well.I think I got the house broth which I thought was delicious. The pot maintains a hot temperature and the food cooks rather quickly. Overall, I would visit again.

I love their house special soup base and sukiyaki. Lamb is very yummy, beef is too lean for me. Their sauce is good also.

The hot pot selections were great. The food was delicious and I had spicy miso pot and my husband had the sukiyaki pot! Both were delicious!! The portion sizes are based on which size you want to order. The servers were attentive and helpful. I would recommend trying to come when it's less busy. They tend to get a bit busy on weekend nights! But other than that the food and service was great!

This place was awesome . The owner was SUPER friendly & very welcoming. We were out of town on other errands and randomly stopped here to eat. We had never tried Shabu ; so we decided to give this place a try. The owner asked us if we ever tried Shabu before , we said no. He didn't hesitate to help us . He even made our sauces for us& step by step told us how to best cook/prep out food ; then let us do it Never had someone be so helpful and welcoming . We truly enjoyed our meal , it was delicious & also pretty affordable. 1000% recommending it to others & will be going back .
