Wabi Sabi Village Market

A nice, clean and friendly village mkt. with a good selection of food. Good selection of wine with regular specials. Hard liquor and craft beers available. I particularly am impressed with their Ramen selection with a wide variety and all of the best brands and flavors.

Its a little market with a very good selection and wide variety of items. The workers are friendly. This place does come in clutch if you need some items really quick. Like I said, they have a lot of stuff here (kimchi bacon, eggs, flour, hard alcohol, etc.)However, they really do not rotate stock for some items. Whenever I buy potato chips, soda or candy, the food is so stale I sometimes have to throw these items out. For those items, just head up the street 1 block to Vons. If not for that, it would get 5 stars

I came here to get cream for a recipe. They had cream, but they had all (12-15 cartons) expired 1-2 months ago. The store clerk was semi-surprised that they couldn't find one that wasn't expired. They threw them all out. Do yourself a favor, and just take the walk to Vons. Two stars because they are always nice here. The prices are definitely unreasonable though and possibly made up on the spot. Nothing is labeled.

The only issue I have here is that one guy makes sexual innuendos at me when I'm alone. He always flirts with me when he sees I'm in there without my boyfriend and it makes me extremely uncomfortable, so I simply stopped going here period. Him being black and asking me multiple times if I "like dark chocolate" is socially unacceptable and disgusting. Take your sexual harassments elsewhere. I wish there was a day where women could feel safe alone with men, but I guess not.

I haven't had an issue with expired products I've bought here, but the customer service is basically non-existent as other reviewers have said. I don't mind that as I'm used to it and because I don't shop there to make friends lol. I shop there because they have a lot of unique and specialty items that you won't see elsewhere. Some of my favorite products here: curry cup noodles, a wide array of real sugar soda brands, and a new favorite is Ollipop sodas.You should be fine here if you can stand to have the person who rings you up be nothing more than that. I'm sure you'll find something new and fun to try. Oh, and I got one of their sandwiches once and it was nothing fancy but was good.

Roaches!! The erea where sandwiches are has dead roaches and some run around the chips. Old packages of Joshua tree coffee has roach feces on them. Close this store

Half the beer I looked at was out of date. They have hoppy beers that were a whole year past their "enjoy by" dates. Selling old, stale/oxidized beer does a disservice to the brewers making the beer, and is frankly a rip-off. If you pick up beer here, be sure to check the dates. Many breweries print either "bottled on" dates, or "best before" dates somewhere on the can/bottle or packaging. Freshness is very important for the majority of styles. Check the bottom of cans, along the neck of bottles (in hard to see black ink), on labels, or on the packaging if it's a six pack of cans. Cheers

I like the snack and drink selection here, lots of unique and international food, snacks and drinks.

Expired products sold at full price (which is a lot more than full price at most others shops in the area), dusty shelves and products, packaged to-go food items prepared there that are left in the cooler so long that they are soggy and nasty with no offer of a discount (even if you ask), at least one violent angry worker who I witnessed assaulting an obviously mentally impaired and much smaller person who was breaking things outside of the shop (call the police instead of going to jail yourself, bro-you don't even own the shop)...No thanks. I am done with Wabi Sabi Village Market and their sister business, Clancy's bar down the street on Alamitos and Broadway. I can't support this owner's business practices.it's a shame, this shop is so conveniently located to me and some of the people who work their are genuinely nice folks.

Please trust the reviews they have low rating for a reason terrible customer service and they NEVER answer the phone. They need to hire new people the people working there are so lazy
