8/31/24 Another draft unloaded...9/1/23 Hubby picked up the last few piggies left. This cake looks delicious! The lady says the baker is old school:))Not entirely sure what the sweet bread is called but it's in the shape of a pig, naturally, Hubby calls them "piggies". It's his favorite pan dulce & out of all the bakeries that actually make these, this ONE is the best he says coz it reminds him of his childhood. A few things in life bring us back to that special place when we had hardly any worries except that dreaded dentist visit and cavities (yikes!). The interaction between my husband & the lady who tends this little bakery located inside of Plaza Mexico is genuinely friendly & attentive. She tells us that the best day to visit is Sunday morning when the piggies are the freshest & plentiful. If he could buy them all, he would. Whenever he's craving these pan dulces, we drive over to Plaza Mexico & get them little piggies

This is the place I'll drive on the freeway during a rainstorm for some good pan dulce. Located in plaza Mexico shopping center, surrounded by various other bakeries and shops for Mexican delights... but this little bakery is the winner. My mom and I are very picky when it comes to our pan dulce. It's been a staple in our home growing up and now in my home it is still there on my dining table to share with my friends. Vivian's bakery has the soft, flavorful, delicious sweet bread with the best recipes. I can taste the difference in the bread here compared to any other bakery. It's just better! Trust me. The customer service is really great as well! I've been here on my good days as well as my bad days, and the owner has been gracious with me. Even once, I was short on cash and asked her to take out a piece and she smiled at me and said to bring what I owe for next time. Such a sweet lady! I can rave about the bread all day, but I've also got to mention a special item here. They serve atole, which is hard for me to explain what it is. It's not like coffee, it's thick but not like oatmeal. There's several flavors but the best one I've had here is also a rare flavor, I've never seen this offered anywhere else and it's... GUAYABA (guava). The guayaba atole is SO DELICIOUS. I can't even begin to explain what it tastes like! It's just GOOD and sweet, so if you don't like sweet I wouldn't recommend. But also, while in line I ALWAYS overhear people say they're getting the Nuez (walnut) atole. So that's really popular too. I wasn't a fan, though. Anyway, please give this place your business if you want to try some GOOD pan dulce and maybe some of their other treats. You won't be disappointed!

Tres leches cake and cake pop were good. The other bread pastries were only ok, better in the toaster. I would get the cake items again! Prices decent.

I asked for the first image and received the cake in the second image. I paid $170 for my cake to look like this.. if I would've known they weren't gonna be able to achieve the cake look that I wanted I would've went with something easier and more simple.

Came here to check out the champurrado that my sister spoke very highly of. She disappointed me and later apologized because she too agreed that the champurrado didn't taste the same as it usually does. So I'll be glad to give this place a second chance & try some of the other champurrado flavors the lady offers on a cold rainy day.

Bought a tres leches cake here based on reviews it was supposed to be great. It wasn't. Unfortunately it tastes terrible and was dry.Maybe a pre order freshly made tres leches cake would have tasted good. However don't buy the ones behind the window as it seems they are sitting there for several days. Or at least the one I got tasted as though it had been. Sorry to say, as I was really hoping the tres leches cake would taste good but it all went to the trash.

The atoles drinks here are so delicious that I crave atole during the summers as well. Haven't had their pasties but they look scrumptious as well. The queue system is a bit disorganized but the ladies manning this humble abode help things move quickly.
