Villalobos Kitchen

Man -- I just stopped at Villalobos Kitchen to pick up a burrito to go (I hadn't eaten a burrito from there yet), and I couldn't believe it when I took the first bite. I hadn't eaten all day (it was after 5 pm), and I really wanted comfort food. So I ordered a steak burrito with beans (black), rice, guacamole, lettuce and salsa (no cheese for me!). And as I said, the first bite took my breath away. That was the best burrito I have ever eaten IN MY LIFE (I'm over 50)! I'm so glad no one was here to watch me eat, because it was a MASSACRE. Now I'm afraid I'm gonna want to eat those burritos every day ... at least for a week!Go get your burrito, and thank me later! Not kidding.

Didn't feel like cooking so decided to stop by for take out at Villalobos Kitchen in North Side Long Beach since it's on my home. I ordered the aguachiles, shrimp ceviche, and red pozole to go. Everything was great, full flavor and authentic. Portion size is generous And they gave me SO MANY chips to go with everything. They also packed salsa and their house made hot sauce. The pork in the pozole was moist too. They have green pozole with chicken on their menu which I will try next time. The chef was so incredibly nice and humble. Definitely will be back.

I ordered enchiladas for pick up. Plates come with rice, black beans, and a yummy kale salad. Super friendly with street parking for pick up in the front. I think they have parking lot in the back. They also had delicious aguas Jamaica, Sandia and horchata. They threw in some chips and salsa and the salsa had a good kick. Service is warm and friendly. It's not a huge spot but it looks comfortable and relaxed. Check it out. It's a nice spot to have in the neighborhood.

I love when I get great service! Shout out to my Latino/ Mexican Brothers and sisters! I felt so welcomed. The service was great and the food is fantastic! Please support this business... they deserve it!! Just WOW!! The salsa is the BOMB!! The lobster was so DAYUM good I ordered another one Lol!!

Excellent service...super friendly and on the ball. Nice, small hole-in-wall place on a busy street. I almost missed it. Glad I didn't! Shrimp tacos were so good. Simple grilled shrimp, avocado, cilantro lime sauce, cabbage. YUMMMMMM Such a nice flavor. I ordered it with coleslaw, because I didn't feel like having rice and beans. Best coleslaw I've ever had! I don't really like most coleslaw unless I make it myself, but this stuff is yum.

Riquísimo todo lo que comimos, mojarra frita, salsas, tacos de pescado y camarón. Servicio 10/10. Volveremos!

The verde pozole with shredded was amazing and came with 3 complimentary potato tacos which was a nice surprise! I've had their red pozole with pork which is also very good! Their tacos are packed with meat and the salsas are flavorful! They package their meals with care as well.

Stopped by for lunch as I had a training nearby. There were five of us and we all ordered something different. Everyone was happy with their orders and vowed to come back not just because the food was tasty but the family was so amazing too! Everyone came to check on us, explained menu items, made sure our water cups were full, etc. I couldn't decide between the fish tacos or the shrimp. The chef chose shrimp for me. The two tacos were magnificent. Generous portions of shrimp with tantalizing flavor. The dressings in the taco were just the right amount, it wasn't a lot of fluff which can happen at other places. I asked about some rice but didn't want a combo. They said they'd bring me one to sample. It was a small salad plate with both rice and black beans. I only wanted a bite and they were so generous. The chef came back to check on us at the end of the recommended other dishes for us for the next time we come in. They also let us pay individually without a fuss. I can't wait to come back.

This place has become our favorite go to. We bring family from out of town and no one has been disappointed. Today I ordered camarrones Diabla. My sister in law ordered the highly recommended Minudo. Whatever you order, get the Primo Salad! The owners are so kind and welcoming as well. Thank you.

Great customer service, feels welcoming like if it is family. Fresh made food, always asking if everything is ok or needed. Relaxing and home warming place. Highly recommended.
