Came here over the weekend to celebrate a friends birthday and I couldn't have been more happy with my decision to select this restaurant. Menu was limited than other restaurants HOWEVER, menu changes often so it was understandable.Everything from the service, the food presentation, the attention from the managers and servers, the quality of the ingredients, and taste of the food was absolutely amazing! Met my expectations way beyond. Only feedback I have is to give guests celebrating their birthdays the opportunity to take their picture with their cake prior to cutting it in the kitchen. Rating breakdown:Food Taste/Quality 5/5Ambiance 4/5Bar Menu 5/5Food Presentation 5/5Service 5/5Cleanliness 5/5

I visited Viaje for a large birthday dinner and was absolutely blown away by the quality of food and serviceService:Viaje did a phenomenal job helping coordinate reservations. We had a party of 20 and they were one of the few places that didn't require a private room/minimum spend limit. They did have a 20% pre-set tip for parties over 8. The only downside was they didn't allow split checks, which is understandable. They also added a very special touch of customizing the menu to include the birthday + name of the person being celebrated! Their staff was also very accommodating of changes to the party size, which was so appreciated. Our server was also very attentive especially with such a large party. Food: The food here was phenomenal! From the drinks to the entrees, everything was cooked exceptionally well, with high quality. Some of our favorite appetizers were the flautas de barbacoa, tacos dorados, and tostada de tuna! The entrees were also cooked well, I got the Barbacoa de Cordero and the meat literally fell off the bone, everyone else in the party was also very impressed by the quality! Pricing of the appetizers did fluctuate quite a bit and didn't always match serving size. It also does seem like the menu does slightly change over time, some of the menu items on reviews/pics were different from what we ordered.Another note is they don't make modifications for food/drinks so if you have any dietary restrictions, def check the menu ahead of time!Ambiance: The restaurant had great vibes/ambiance, a great place to celebrate any milestones or go for a good date night! Parking: Parking is typically tricky on 2nd Street but we lucked out with the lot behind the restaurant, it has some paid parking spots. Parking is free after 7pm and it worked out great for us! We went on the Sunday of the long weekend. Overall, I'd give this place a 4.5/5 stars based on our experience :) would come back again!

Co-hosted a birthday dinner here, and the staff was accommodating with our large group of about 20 guests. The food was good, and drinks were poured pretty heavily. Tortillas were amazing, and I'd love to have more of them. For large groups, the menu is customized to the occasion with a banner, like "Happy Birthday (Name)!" Small gripes:-Pricing across appetizers seemed unbalanced. Some dishes felt like they were priced more accurately than others. $25ish for a singular tostada was one that stuck out compared to $14 for two tacos. -No split checks. Bummer with the context that my group of 20 was sat across two rows of tables and ordered according to how we were sat, so it would've been easier for us to handle billing across two checks for each row.-Plating of the pollito de mole? I had some suspicions that the way it arrived wasn't the way other Yelpers had submitted pictures of, and the photos on this page proved me correct. The presentation was odd to look at (my chicken spread wide) and navigate around, and I would've preferred to have it served in its original format.-Parking: this restaurant is located on 2nd Street, prepare for impacted, limited parking and meters. There's a small lot out back of metered spaces, but plan your arrival accordingly.

We came on a Friday night for date night not knowing too much about Viaje although we've walked past this restaurant many times. We asked for a table for two, then the hostess asked if we had a reservation which we didn't. She sat us in the middle of the restaurant with plenty of tables (2 tops) around us. The ambience is very nice. Perfect for a date night or girls evening. Unfortunately they don't do any modifications and I'm a vegetarian. The few vegetarian options they had didn't sound appetizing. My husband loves beer and didn't see any on the menu. The server didn't come over after many minutes so we decided to go to the bar and just get a drink and not eat here. The bartenders were so nice, friendly, and attentive. Really shifted our visit. We got a round of drinks (espresso martini and limon pepino margarita) then left. Unfortunately I wont be back due to my vegetarian diet choice.

I LOVE VIAJE.I initially discovered this place because they had tres leches for dessert. So for the first two visits, we sat at the bar and got tres leches and espresso martinis. We were so impressed. They had a tv playing sports, and the bar was somewhat filled, but the bartenders were on top of it.We came here another time for dinner to celebrate my birthday because we had to try the food. The menus had my name printed on them: "Happy Birthday Audrey." I asked for a sweet cocktail recommendation, and the server, I think, recommended the Maravilloso. I loved it.For an appetizer, we got the ceviche, and it was amazing. The food runner told us to mix it, and I am glad we did because the sauce was super yummy. They did bring us chips and salsa before to start. For entrees, we got the Salmon Al Pastor and the Pescado Zarandeado. The salmon had a nice twist with the pastor, which we have never seen before. The branzino is probably the best branzino I have had. It also came with tortillas, guacamole, and pickled veggies. For dessert, of course, we had to get the tres leches.... AGAIN! It is sooo good. They also wrote Happy Birthday with sauce.I will always come here... For dinner... For dessert... anything.

I love coming to Viaje!! The food is always amazing and comes out fast. My favorite appetizers are the taquitos, the sopes, and sopita! I love love their drinks, you can never go wrong with their house margarita! Their service is always great, and they are very attentive. The vibe of the restaurant is very intimate, and up beat. It is is a perfect place foe a date night or a girls night out. I always enjoy my time here! I definitely enjoy being a returning customer at this establishment.

Amazing! I've been eyeing this restaurant since they opened, and my friends made a reservation here for my birthday on a weeknight. We were seated right away. Viaje was very welcoming, and they even printed the menus with 'Happy Birthday, Trami!!!'--love it. Their drink menu focuses heavily on mezcal and tequila, as it should. I got the only gin-based cocktail, the Condesa, which was refreshing and sweet. My partner and friends all ordered Viaje's twist on the Paloma and even got a second round. We didn't order any appetizers since we didn't want to be too full for later. For entrées, we had the branzino, skirt steak, salmon al pastor, and the short rib enchiladas. Everything was cooked perfectly, and we were all amazed at how delicious everything was. For dessert, we ordered the churros, and Viaje surprised me with a tres leches cake for my birthday! Omg, they're the best. I've never had the tres leches at Porto's, but my friends said Viaje's version is better and not overwhelmingly sweet. We will definitely come back again to try all the other dishes and drinks!
