Veggie Grill by Next Level

I honestly don't know why I don't go to Veggie Grill more often.On a recent visit, I ordered the chik'n bacon ranch sandwich ($12.45). It's a crispy chik'n filet, organic tempeh bacon, smoked Gouda cheese, organic lettuce, organic tomato and creamy ranch on a toasted pretzel bun. Delish. I momentarily forgot that the patty wasn't real chicken. Like chicken who? The melty Gouda cheese, organic lettuce, and tomato keeps the sandwich tasting real fresh.If you're more of a burger kind of person, it's safe to report that their burgers are equally delicious as well. I had bites of the Maverick burger ($15.45). Order this if you love the Bacon Western Cheeseburger. Here, they use house-seasoned 1/4 beyond patty, crispy onion rings, organic tempeh bacon, organic dill pickles, your choice of cheese, hickory BBQ sauce + house-made special sauce. Whew. Perfection. Eat at Veggie Grill if you want to take a little brekkie from meat.

STEPH UPDATE: Still good after all these years and change in ownership. I've been coming to Veggie Grill for years and it's still good! They were recently bought out and I was afraid of what would happen to them, but so far the changes have been mostly for the better, I'd say. There are new items on the menu that I enjoy, and the prices are competitive with other fast-casual joints. On my most recent visit I tried two new items and loved them:Sesame tofu kale salad - fantastic! Flavorful and freshLentil soup (pureed lentils with chili-like flavor and texture, yumThis is our go-to spot for a quick and healthy meal before going to the movies down the street. Our only gripe is with their new app, which doesn't seem to work as well as their old one. A birthday reward I was trying to claim wouldn't go through, so the cashier had to do it manually, and now to get credit for what you spend you have to input it from your receipt, instead of it happening automatically, as it did before. I hope they get that together, but it certainly won't keep us away from visiting them!

I've been to this location a couple times and it's been good each time. I've ordered the kimchi steak bowl both times and got it completely drowned in sauce once and had just enough sauce the second time. Slight consistency issues there. Other than that, no other problems. I shared some large fries for the table and they were fresh out of the fryer with a perfect crisp.

The food is always amazing here but I love the mushroom tacos and Sonoran bowl it's my favorite thing to eat! But watch out for those cookies lol

I love that Long Beach has an array of different food places for every type of eater. After a walk on the beach me and my friend wanted to eat somewhere healthy and my friend recommended the Veggie Grill. My friend ordered Bbq plant based burger( summer time special) with sweet potato fries and I ordered the Cali Tempeh Bowl. She also raved about fried cauliflower and ordered those also! My Cali Tempeh Bowl was very filling and flavorful but the tempeh wasn't my favorite. I'd never had tempeh before and it was probably just a personal preference. But the fried cauliflower was one of the best dishes I've ever had! Crispy, flavorful and the sauces with it were chefs

I am not one to care much for Vegan or Vegetarian food but I am a fan of Veggie Grill. And this location is pretty dope. I come here for lunch during work sometimes. They offer a wide variety of different foods including sandwiches, wraps, salads, burritos, tacos, and more. I like their nanchos and really good carrot cake. Everything is always done with lots of flavor and just right. I can't even tell its vegan food. Items are fresh and of good quality. I like that this location is pretty large and is easy to get to. It is located right next to Trader Joes. The inside has plenty of tables and chairs. There is even outdoor seating too. The staff is really nice and will bring the food out to you. They sometimes even offer to clean up for me.

I had the best Valentine's Day meal here with my little Valentine! My son and I enjoyed the music, the space, and especially the food!Even though the parking lot and the surrounding streets were packed for rush hour and the special evening, the dining room at Veggie Grill was tranquil with many open booths. Just how I like it! We received excellent service and received our food quickly. The food was so good! I ordered the buffalo chicken salad and my little one had chicken strips and fries with lemonade and a cookie. Such a great value. I was also pleasantly surprised that my rewards that I had accrued from previous visits long ago were still on the app. Will be back soon!

I'm happy to report that as of 1/1/2025 portion size has been improved very much. We'll be going back there more frequently now!

Don't waste your time. They didn't even bother trying with this sandwich. Doesn't help I got it though delivery so I couldn't even return it.

8/07/2024, This place is really going downhill fast and now I am seeing virtually zero to only a couple customers in this restaurant these days at any time. Maybe it's because of the one Spanish speaking store manager they have working behind the counter and the one Spanish speaking cook in the back where not only is the front line service is lacking in good service, but the cook in the back also can't prepare food properly. I came inside this restaurant around 12:30pm to originally order a sandwich and fries, but I only saw one customer in the restaurant sitting waiting for his food, so I thought to myself that I better just order fries instead.So I ordered a large golden fries without any salt. I waited a good five to seven minutes for the fries. I had to ask the counter manager employee for ketchup, he gave me only one so I had to ask again for an extra ketchup and for a fork and some napkins. You would think that he should have asked me first if I like ketchup and napkins for my fries and utensils instead of me having to ask for these items. When I got into my car to drive off, I opened the piping hot French fries only to discover not only how burnt they were but that most of them were very small in size like the old leftovers small fries from the bottom of the frozen freezer bag.The fries also tasted horrible for nearly $7.I concluded that I will never return to Veggie Grill again. It's simply gone downhill fast over the past four years. The food and the poor service is just not worth their higher prices these days.
