Van Leeuwen Ice Cream - Long Beach

My husband and I stumbled upon this place one night after dinner while walking around checking out the shops at PCH & 2nd. We decided to each get a scoop. It was REALLY good! I got the chocolate fudge brownie. It was rich and delicious. My husband got the black cherry chip. He loved it and went as far as to say that it's probably the best ice cream he's ever had!!The shop is cute and clean. The guy that helped us was friendly. They give free samples! Check it out if you're in the area. :)

Exterior: It's located in the 2nd and PCH shopping center across from the restrooms. You can park either on the street or in the garage parking structure. It's not hard to miss with the aesthetic appealing color scheme. Interior: Very clean with complimentary colors with a couple of large booths and counter seating. They offer approximately 7 flavors for vegan options. They offer a rotation of flavors that changes every so often. My party and I had a peaceful and trendy BG music playing. The service is variable between getting an attentive server versus a mediocre server that is completing the bare minimum.Note:1. Only accept contactless payment only 2. Walking around the shops n craving something a little sweet. Once we walked in I was greeted by a really friendly girl with a big smile. I asked if they had vegan icecream and she promptly showed us the options. Ordered one scoop of vegan strawberry in a cone and a strawberry milkshake. The place is small n cute n looks like they had some kind of monthly flavor icecream fridge section I should hv checked it out but didn't My milkshake was so simple but great! I can taste the few simple fresh ingredients it wasn't overly sweet n fake tasting. It just tasted like strawberries and cream or milk. It was refreshing and satisfied that sweet craving with out leaving me to feel like cavity city. My friend said the scoop of ice cream as really good. 1 scoop in a cone and 1 shake= $19 and some change.I thought it was steep for what we got but I guess times have changed lol

Happy happy to revisit you again! Two scoops - vegan strawberry shortcake and banana bread. Two fab scoops containing chunks of shortcake and banana bread. And to top it off literally lol Tuesday just so happened to be free topping of your choice Tuesday. Naturally, the honey almond slivers was my pic and the crunch went perfectly with my ice cream. The service was awesome- the girl behind the counter was helpful and friendly. Van Leeuwen, see ya next time I'm in town!

The Ice Cream: The ice cream here is phenomenal! I tried the Dark Chocolate Fudge Brownie flavor, and wow - it was rich, creamy, and packed with decadent chocolatey goodness. It's easily one of the best flavors I've had in a long time. We also got fresh waffles, which were a great addition - crispy and warm, pairing perfectly with the ice cream. The Downside: The only con is the price - it's definitely on the premium side. That said, the quality and flavor justify the splurge, especially for a treat-yourself kind of day.‍ Service & Convenience: The service was quick and friendly, and they were patient while we sampled a few flavors before deciding. Parking was easy to find, thanks to its location in a shopping plaza, which is always a bonus. Verdict: If you're in the area and craving something sweet, Van Leeuwen is a must-visit. Delicious ice cream, good vibes, and easy access - I'd definitely come back for another scoop (or two) next time I'm nearby!

Late night ice cream is always a good call.Parking is decent with street options if it's late and the lot nearby during the day makes it pretty decently easy to find parking.Some people complain about size and price, obviously y'all don't go to many ice cream shops and/ or are cheap. A single scoop Cone most places are about $10, flavors here are definitely unique and not just another place with Oreos in ice cream; they get more creative with flavors.The vegan options are good and I'm not vegan, some vegan options I like better than the non options.Worth a try if close by and the decor of the merch and more is unique and memorable. Staff was nice and served us quick even though we showed up the last 20 mins to closing they didn't make us feel bad for the late visit.Keep up the good work

I've been here 2 or 3 times already, and the ice cream is just so delicious, creamy and fresh. The people working there are super friendly and helpful. I once went with an aunt and uncle who spoke only Spanish and the girl who was taking our orders started speaking with them in Spanish to get an idea of what flavors they had in mind. They totally appreciated that extra touch of customer service. So far for me, I've loved the affogato, the honeycomb ice cream, and the black cherry one with the semi-sweet chocolate chunks. My daughter once ordered their mango sorbet, and it was just too sweet and overwhelming for everyone's palate, including my daughter's, that we ended up throwing almost half away. Just wasn't our cup of tea, I guess. Can't wait to go back and try more of their flavors. I love that there is a lot to see here. Even just to come grab a coffee or ice cream and people-watch while kiddo runs around and makes friends.

Came In For the pistachio but it was all gone. Womp womp womp! I did try something new and was not disappointed. Friendly staff, mall ambiance was great you can still hear the ocean.

It's located in the 2nd & PCH outdoor Shopping Center on the ground floor. There's metered street parking and a paid parking garage. I recommend parking on E. Marina Dr. since it is located closer to that street. Look for Caffe Luxxe shop and you'll find Van Leeuwen.When you first walk in the shop, you you'll see the ice cream. They offer samples. Select what you want & pay. If you walk towards the back, they have indoor seating. Or you can take it outside where there are more seating options.Van Leeuwen has great ice cream flavors and many to choose from! I've been to a few different locations and am always happy to have another scoop! Their ice cream is creamy and delicious! I like their ice cream display because each colorful label has a picture of the ice cream on it along with a few key ingredients (I think they are the main ones people look to avoid or have). You can buy scoops or pints. They have Dairy Free/ Vegan options. You can get a sundae, milkshake, ice cream sandwich, or a Root Beer Float.At this place, hubby and I got the Banana Pudding with Fudge Swirls & Honeycomb Fudge Ripple. I'm a sucker for Honeycomb and it was so good in the Honeycomb Fudge Ripple! Hubby loves Banana Pudding in general, but with the Fudge Swirls, it was almost like eating a sundae! Not a bad thing, just a bit different.I have been to several locations including one in Denver, CO! I know I will be back for more ice cream here!
