Turner's Poultry

The people behind the counter are friendly enough, but since I didn't go there to make friends, I'm resting them, almost solely, on their spicy chicken sausage. I don't live close to Turner's, but I've made the decision to drive there when in need. Tried a few of the highly recommended spots close to home & was quite disappointed. No kick. No Flava. All I can say is, if you haven't tried Turner's, you're missing out!! Their turkey wings are pretty good too.

I drove down from Carson this Monday morning for a bag of mild pete links. Always good service etc.

First time in there today and definitely will be my last. The store smells like rotten meat as soon as you step foot inside & geez I wonder why. This is what's behind the counter. There were flies inside of the counter crawling on the meats. I don't know how people genuinely like coming here.

I would give it negative stars if possible but yelp won't let me. First of all the hispanic guy working there didn't know anything when I asked him any questions. Then he called over the black guy who didn't wear gloves or washed his hand when he came from the side to grabbed my chicken feet. It was for my dog so I didn't mind at first. Bought two chips and when I opened them at open they were nasty so I checked expiration date and they were bad. Chicken feet smelled rotten my dog didn't wanna eat it. I was so busy with work that I didn't have time to go back and complain but I will definitely never patronize this business and I live a block away.

I drive in from Riverside county to purchase food from Turner's just as my parents did in the 70's till I was an adult.

The Turner family sold this meat /poultry business well over 20 years ago. The name was kept to keep the loyal customers and reputation of the fresh meats and live poultry sold by the Turner family. Fast forward to today in 2024 it's not the same of course and the price gouging on the cultural food of some people and a poor community is just disgusting. Yes this 2024 Thanksgiving has them charging $6.99 a pound for turkey wings. TURKEY! This is not a gourmet meat. This is another meat market in South Los Angeles overcharging poor folks. Well, Parks meat market in Inglewood is over charging too I found turkey wings on the WESTSIDE for $3.99 a pound. I am one of those people that remember Back in the Day at these meat markets when you would get a reasonable price for things and sometimes pay a bit more for fresh good poultry and meats but NOW. - I eat less meat and poultryI have stopped eating certain food items because these stores have increased prices to a ridiculous level especially on certain cultural foods

My grandmother went here for all her gumbo fixings. Camelia beans, Pete's hot sausage, head cheese and chitterlings when I was a little girl. I'm almost 70 and still go for zatarains old bay and all things good!!!!! Go hungry and go home and pull out your pots and pans and get down!!!!!!

Great place for that good old southern flare. Has just about everything needed for whatever southern dish your making. The meat selection is top notch, especially the hotlinks.

Back in the day turner's poultry market had fresh and live poultry. Nowadays the place smells like death and the met is not fresh! Avoid going there!
