Service, food, and ambiance are excellent here. Smashed clam strips, Caesar salads, seared ahi tuna, seafood fettuccini and all other goodness they brought. Our server Laura was incredibly kind and the service was impeccable with full water glasses and clean tables.Nice views too. Thanks to Manny from the bar upstairs who told us to come!

We couldn't decide on a restaurant while on Redondo Beach pier so we went to Tony's on the pier!! There is nothing new about this restaurant, old/run down vibe but friendly staff! Service was good someone was always coming by taking your dishes from the end of the table. Loved being seated by the water!! Let's get into the food: Ordered: Oysters Rockefeller to start my bf ate one and spit it right out the oyster was not cooked all the way unfortunately that dish was sent back! I ordered: charbroiled seafood combination! It comes with 2oz of sword fish and it was bomb, 2 shrimp and scallops, 4 oz of salmon with rice pilaf. My bf ordered crab cakes and seafood chowder!!Crab cakes were ok, he stated the chowder was full of flavor!!

I didn't know there was such a thing as a dive restaurant. As a lover of dive bars, that's not a bad thing. It's old and run down, but I like the vibe. Service was good, actually very good. Food is Red Lobster-ish (I was hoping for fresh seafood, not frozen). I'd go again and recommend it, but keep your expectations to a minimum. None of this is a complaint, just a little disappointed.

Tony's on the Pier is a well-known establishment in Redondo Beach. Situated on the pier, this two-story restaurant and bar has retained its original charm since it first opened. The ground floor features a bar, a cozy fireplace surrounded by seating, and window seats with views of the Pacific Ocean. The upper floor houses another bar, often hosting live music at night and offering a limited menu. The wicker furniture has remained unchanged since the beginning, and while the seating is charmingly kitschy, it isn't the most comfortable. The menu offers a selection of classic dishes reminiscent of the 1970s. The clam chowder, while flavorful, is neither New England nor Manhattan style. It seems to be a blend of both, lacking the thickness of New England chowder and the tomato base of Manhattan chowder. Despite its good flavor, the mix of styles is somewhat disappointing. The smoked salmon chowder is a better choice, delivering a robust flavor that should be the standout soup at this venue. Most of the other menu items are rather bland and typical of 1970s cuisine. The dishes tend to be a bit oily, and the fried items lack the crispiness expected from well-executed cooking. The best compliment I can offer is that if you're seeking a nostalgic taste of your childhood, Tony's won't disappoint. However, if you're in search of well-prepared seafood at a reasonable price, I recommend trying Quality Seafood on the lower level of the pier.Overall, Tony's delivers on its promise. You'll have an enjoyable time, with friendly yet brisk service and strong drinks. You'll likely leave feeling full, but perhaps not entirely satisfied.

Came here on accident as we were trying to attend Lobster Fest at the pier but they ran out of lobsters. And I'm so glad we did! I live just blocks away and have heard lots about it but have never been before. The view is great and it has such a warm and cozy feel. The staff was kind and patient with my inabikity to choose from thebgreay options. This place is a must!

First visit here after hearing about it for years from other people who've eaten here and how most love the food and the atmosphere. i don't know if anything has changed much from back then, but I just found it to be ok.Location: Right on the Redondo Beach Pier with ticketed parking. Some. people uber it here because parking can be expensive unless you don't mind walking to it. Food: Crab cakes platter with clam linguine was my choice. Crab cakes were nicely fried, but the crab itself was just ok otherwise. I just felt the cakes were missing something even though I used the sauce that came with it. Lackluster is what i'm saying here and needed more seasoning, The linguine I failed to find one clam in it and was just bland. Hmmmm.... 5/10The chocolate cake I only took tastes of since I didn't order it. Not too bad on the sweetness level, but at least it wasn't overly sweet as in most restaurants.6/10 Service was good and I have no complaints here. Asked for items were brought in a timely manner and dishes cleared away promptly. Summary: As much as Old Tony's is an institution in the South Bay, it failed to wow me. Maybe I was expecting too much of the place? The only noteworthy praise from one of my dining companions was that the chips (fries) were really hot because they were freshly cooked. I'll only come here if someone wants to visit here. It was just ok for me.

A friend recommended Tony's, so I stopped in for an appetizer and a cocktail. I sat at the bar and a friendly bartender assisted with my margarita. I ordered the steamed clams. They were a bit over cooked but still good and the broth was delicious! And then they do the thing that I wish every restaurant would do with mussel and clams dishes: they actually brought a small container of the broth along with the bread. The bread and whipped butter were perfect for dipping and the extra broth was perfect! I loved the 70's vibe and I hope they don't change, I'll be back!

"Old Tony's" is definitely dated, but it's sorta what I love about it! I love its rickety nature hovering above the pier for a view of the Pacific Ocean, the on point mai tais complete with Hawaiian shirts and kitschy take home souvenir glass, the unique salmon chowder and proficiently prepared seafood, the choice of sides straight out of the '60s. I'm into it. The servers are right out of a Vegas diner in the Frank Sinatra era. It's quirky and they don't even know it or care; it's what I love about it. And heads up, the restroom is as tight as one you'd find on a Southwest flight. But clean!

Tony's on the pier is a classic italian style restaurant with authentic 70's vibe, good food and incredible ocean views!! Clam chowder was tasty, caesar salad was good, we also had calamari and enjoyed it. Nothing was incredible by any means but a very decent meal in an awesome location on the Redondo Beach pier. Definitely worth stopping in and supporting a classic ocean front establishment with a 70 year history!! Cheers!!!
