Located at the food court of Cerritos Mall. The food served at Tokyo Grill is average at best.On the plus side, though, the service was helpful and friendly. The place was really clean and the food looked really appealing. Just too bad, it did not taste as good as it looked.Considering that it is in the food court, I'd probably return here again. I just would not go out of my way to come here if I was not in the mall.

A long long long time ago, one of the lady that used to go to the same church as I did started up this teriyaki grill place in the mall.It was simple back then because they did not served sushi or any tempura stuff. It was strictly teriyaki chicken or beef on the grill with steamed rice and a little vegetables added on to make it sound like a healthy choice.I think she sold the business more than 10 years ago. I don't speculate what happened. After all, she was much older when I was a tiny lad. Anyways, things change dramatically as new ownerships took over. I don't know how many times it changed hand, but I could tell how many times they had changed their menu and selections. As the first reviewer pointed out in her review, they have added a few sushi rolls and a few tempura items on the menu list. They also got bold by adding certain types of Japanese noodle bowl and cutlet items along with shrimp items. The teriyaki chicken and beef are still there after all these years. My rules of thumb has always been that if you are offering too many choices, make sure you are good at all of them or you're just throwing too many things out there. My impressions of coming here over the years and many times in the past year had always garnered the thoughts of inconsistency. There would be times where the veggies would be soggy or the chicken was too tough to eat. It's always one thing or another that did not get accomplished. It's still better than Yoshinoya or some other Teriyaki grill places. I'm hoping this place get some consistency down because I would hate for the old lady from the church not to leave her mark here for something she had started many years ago.

Quite mediocre food but this place have been in business ever since this food court started. Why am I still here? Because they do have decent chicken teriyaki bowl.Fresh grilled to order chicken teriyaki and vegetables on top of bed of rice, along with their teriyaki sauce (I have to admit that I do like their sauce and I always ask for more). Its a quick fix for my stomach. I just have to walk to hot dog on a stick next door to pick up a cup of lemonade then I am a happy camper. Simple as that.Don't order their beef. Its sorta jerky.

I paid $8 for stubborn bowels the morning after.Yeah, it's a food court.Yeah, it's fast food.Yeah, it's stupid of me to expect anything other than severe colon blockage.I guess I'm too healthy for my own good and my payment for eating here is proof that being healthy can be bad for you.If you've not trained your body to become tolerant to salty and saucy mystery meat, then don't eat here.....unless you have an hour to kill and enjoy spending that hour sitting on your bog.

Alright! The prices here are way better than that chicken place next door. Over here, I got the beef and chicken plate with rice and veggies. Excellent! Especially with some hot sauce. It's all cooked right in front of you too so you can watch and say, hey chef, can I get more meat with that?! Hahahahaha... he then hooked it up!$7.79 plus tax for the Steak & Chicken Plate

I used to go here all the time because I enjoyed their food, and I suddenly got offered extra chicken for an additional $1.49. They normally do this during the transaction without saying it will cost extra. Here's the part that really turned me off about this establishment; I requested the extra chicken 3 times, and of all those times I kept getting the same amount as if I ordered a regular plain chicken teriyaki. I really felt ripped off, so because of this I won't be coming back here again. Don't ask for extra chicken because all it is, is consent to charge you an additional $1.49.

When looking for a teriyaki bowl look no further this place is it. They grill it right there in front of you and just how you want it. I LOVE this place. It is far better than Yoshinoya or Flame Broiler or anywhere else I have has a beef bowl from. I can not say anything about the sushi in the case, to me it looks like something from the grocery store. I have this things about eating sushi like that so I would never ever order the sushi. Which is fine, I am happy with the teriyaki beef bowl.

I went here for a birthday dinner with my friend and his younger brother. My first impression when I walked in the front door was, "This place looks old..". The lighting gave it a dingy look and feel which are not what you want to feel when getting, what should be, fresh teppan grilled food. Fresh and contemporary styles I am accustom to seeing at other teppan grils like Benihana or Chomps was lost here. As we were taken to our table within the bowels of the restaurant I saw many happy faces and loud talking over the "chop and sizzle" of the grills. My mood brightened for some reason as I realized that all these bright faces might be suggesting that I not rush to judgement. As I sat with my friend and his family (5 total) I was impressed at the level of service that we received outright. The menu was very simple to follow and after ordering it didn't take long for our chef to come out and begin grilling. All the typical fan fare of teppan grill was in full swing. We got the flying knives, the playful banter from the chef, the "volcano" onions (lol), and a well prepared meal cooked to each person's request. I ordered the filet mignon teppan, and the family next to me ordered the shrimp which was delicious as we had some with our fried rice and grilled veggies. The meat was delicious and the dipping sauces were an excellent addition to the meal which consisted of the meat, veggies, fried rice, small soup, and salad. All this was for a little over 20 dollars. There was a lot of birthday song singing while we were there which left me with the impression that it was a great place to have a birthday celebration or to get the business of eating and filling up done and dusted. If you are expecting the fresh Japanese styles and motif that are typical of most teppan grills then this is not your place. Go to Benihana or Chomps if you need to impress someone like a date. But, if that is not important then you'll have a great time as they have everything else you could expect and more.

A Valentine's weekend at the mall I knew what to expect but since I had my godson a 3 yr old we were starving after a walk around the whole mall.I always enjoy eating at Tokyo Grill my family and I usually go to the Westfield Culver City Tokyo Grill and their service is great fast and efficient. Unfortunately as I approached the cashier she just looked at me with a serious look and asked how I wanted my plate. No friendly smile or welcoming she didn't even have a line. The cook as well had a very serious look and pointed at my food with his eyes which I thought was very rude I was standing right in front of the counter. My husband also asked the cashier for a cup of water and just gave him a serious look.I would of ate some where else but their food is delicious and my godson enjoyed his chicken and white rice
