The Green Olive Belmont Heights

As of December 2024, this is my favorite Mediterranean spot in Long Beach! Long Beach is saturated with great Mediterranean food, but this tops all the ones I've tried.The hummus is by far my favorite, and so addicting with their pita! My go-to order is their mixed Grilled plate with kafta, chicken, and steak. It's a variety of protein options, which I really like, and comes with rice and pita. The meats are all flavorful, tender, and not greasy at all. I can tell everything is fresh because they are still cooking it up every time I arrive!! As for the inside, it's small with inside seating; I usually get it to-go because I live close. For parking, there is a lot on the left side for all businesses in that shopping center, including The Green Olive! Be sure to check it out

My coworkers and I ordered 3 chicken kebob plates and 1 eggplant wrap for pick up. Upon arriving, we were informed that the chicken kebob plates were ready, but they were out of eggplant for the day and "meant to call you back, but forgot" to tell me ahead of time. The chicken kebob plates were great and the green sauce is soo good. No complaints about the food, but the service could have been an ounce better.

Very yummy food and friendly service. We ordered and they made it fresh. We had it to go and enjoyed it at home, barely able to stop eating even though we were full. The green sauce is a little spicy. The Tzatiki is delicious! We will be back! Highly recommend!

At first driving up I was worried about parking, but behind the building was ample parking which was great. As I walked in, the place smelled a bit weird and I was a little worried. We ordered the gyro meat wrap with fries, shrimp plate and chicken kabob plate. Wrap had lots of meat and tomatoes and was very good. I only wished it had some lettuce and onions. The green sauce they come with was delicious! This sauce made my meal worth it. Shrimp was well seasoned and chicken was fine. Service was not slow but if you are in a hurry, probably need to order via phone.

This is the best location. In my humble opinion, Belmont heights is the one most worth going to because of the overall service, portion, and taste. You can share a plate with someone or be super full off your own. I've gone to every location by the way. I first had Green Olive some years back at a meeting. They got catering from here and when I tell you I had one bite and ran to our director and asked where the food was from! I love Mediterranean food and the flavors experienced here were incredible. My favorite thing is ordering some chicken tawook and adding some veggie skewers, which is not on the menu but doable ;) And I truly can't pick between the garlic and jalapeño sauce. They're both so good and I can NOT eat my food without them both! Their pita bread is also sold by bag and it's super cheap!! I think it's a dollar. Like literally a dollar and it's on a stand by the exit. Parking is awesome, they have a shared lot of street parking is on a great area of Long Beach and won't be a hassle. One of my favorite things is getting takeout here and eating it at the Colorado lagoon to watch the sunset. Don't tell anyone OK? I don't want it to get crowded. Anyway, I truly do recommend you try something here. Feel free to go to any of their locations but this one has my heart and I will continue patronizing as long as I'm breathing.

The food is good. But I won't be ordering online.$9.99 wrap plus 10.25% sales tax should be $11.01. Where's the other ¢.52 coming from in this charge?

I had a hankering for a chicken wrap and salad. It came to the right place. The sauces are excellent. The garlic sauce was creamier here as compared to other places I have gone to. There was also a spicy dipping sauce that came with the wrap. It was a great addition to the menu. I would have given 5 stars, but I found the fried potatoes greasy. I would not recommend ordering it as a side. Great place to get your fill off in the neighborhood.

Great spot for awesome tasting food. Personally I really like the gyro and falafel plate, tastes really good with the perfect amount of sides and pita. Parking can be hard since I normally park in the surrounding neighborhoods but never too long to find. Service is great! Workers are very nice.

Old rotting pieces of lettuce in my fattoush salad. It is disgusting they served me this I could have gotten sick! It looked like they took someone's leftovers and mixed it on top of a new salad and served it to me so gross... beware of this place. Ordered on door dash on a Sunday.

I've ordered from this place as well as the one in Torrance a few times via Door Dash but never stepped foot in here. Pricing is reasonable (14.99 for a 2 chicken kabob plate with hummus, salad, rice, and a pita bread). Food tasted good but I have had better at other Mediterranean restaurants. Dining room is not very big and it is old but there is also sidewalk dining as well. My recommendation is this is a decent go to if you want a quick casual bite to take home or to eat dining in. Everything on their menu sounded appetizing and I don't think anyone would be disappointed. Lastly, parking looks challenging but it actually isn't as it shares parking with the donut shop on the other side.
