I LOVE this place!! Ordered the jerk chicken plate and a jamaican beef patty. So so delicious! The food was perfectly seasoned not too spicy. The place has a cool atmosphere although I've noticed it's usually not too many people there. Since I love jamaican food and this place now I'll definitely be coming back!

The service was amazing. So nice, so warm, welcoming. Food was great. Oxtail was good. Cocobread and the browned butter was the surprising favorite. The pattie was ok. But ask for the pepper sauce. This place is good, definitely coming back to try the jerk salmon

So the outside gives the impression that it's a little hole in the wall spot but the inside is really nice looking me the restaurant is large and spacious with a bar. It was surprisingly empty. Considering how good the food is. We only ordered the vegan stuff but I'll definitely be back to try the seafood. The server was super nice and attentive and talkative. Also got the the Jamaican cream soda that was super good! I definitely reccommend it 10 out of 10!

This hidden gem is the home of island food ambrosia. Everything we ordered was beyond delicious. Plates were massive. Food was beautiful. My eyes were in heaven. My tastebuds could have happily died after the first bite. The service was so welcoming. We could have stayed just for the conversation. The location is in the boondocks but spacious. This place is plain and simple GREAT food

Popped in pretty late - about an hour until closing - and the waiter Ty was very nice and helpful. Our favorite dishes were the appetizers - sliced fried plantains with salsa & coco buns with browned butter. Our favorite main dish was the chicken stew. Super flavorful and the sides were fantastic - cabbage, rice with beans, plantains. Very large portions of food served. Will definitely try the oxtail next time!

I came to grab some Caribbean food and I was met by Meggie their server and bartender. She was amazing and very informative. I ordered the jerk salmon with rice and peas and sautéed cabbage. The food was really good and flavorful and the salmon was cooked to perfection with the jerk sauce. I also order a veggie patty which was hot and fresh. This Ambiance was really really clean and family style dining. Lomita, CA has a gem on its hands. The space is also available for events like wakes, and corporate party so everyone come on in and try the food and inquire about event space.

I'm so glad that I found this place! I don't find much Caribbean food in the South Bay area, and I just happened to be passing by and saw this place tucked into a mini shopping center. When I walked in, surprisingly it was huge! The main restaurant part was on one side and the person who was working in the front was very kind and hospitable. As a pescatarian, I was so hyped to see that they had jerk salmon and jerk shrimp! And they have jerk tacos! I ordered the jerk salmon plate and substituted rice and peas and cabbage for the normal sides because I wanted the authentic Jamaican style. The portions are amazing! I ate dinner and have enough for lunch tomorrow! The fish was light and flaky, not overcooked at all. The jerk seasoning was just the right amount of heat with spice, not too hot. The rice and peas was flavorful, and the cabbage was too. And the plantains really set it off! Maggie was very nice and her son was too. And they have beer! I will definitely be back!!

Stopped in here at 5pm on a Saturday for takeout. The Good Life Cafe is located on a busy street and shares the parking lot with 3 Little Cupcakes Cafeand a few other businesses. Inside the restaurant was completely empty. Honestly it felt like more of an event hosting establishment than a restaurant, with several patches of random empty space between the tables. It seems like after the sun falls down the tables are put away in favor of the dance floor. There are also large speakers in the corner and if I recall correctly a small stage. There was one guy behind the bar who asked me to walk over there to place the order. He let me know what was recommended which was the chicken wings, ox tails and jerk chicken. I opted for the latter 2. I was told it'd be about 10 minutes; it was more like 20-25, but I didn't mind as I wasn't in a rush. The server was cool had a somewhat quirky personality. The menus were a printed out on paper and a little beat up, but there were no stains on them. They could probably due with printing out a new set. As for the main event: the food. Both the oxtails and the jerk chicken came with rice, peas and cabbage. Flavors were good all around, even the veggies. The portion of the oxtails was about what I expected, though for the price I wouldn't mind if there was a bit more meat. The jerk chicken had some heat to it, but not too much. The oxtails were not spicy at all. Everything was piping hot and survived the trip home without needing to be reheated . One minus was the plastic bag my food came in was so thin it didn't make it to it's destination without some tears and required careful handling, however from the aroma during the ride I knew the food was going to taste good. I don't frequent Jamaican restaurants that often and this will be definitely be a repeat.
