I've been looking forward to the truck making it's way Eastward and it was in Glendale last evening. Was happy to reacquaint with Mike (complete surprise, working the truck) from our former hometown near the Roc. As far as plate goes, went large size and all ingredients were correct. If you're eating a plate in Monroe County, NY area, just about every village or town has a 'Hots' restaurant that serves one. Nick Tahoes created it and it's now a regional dish. You know from the first bite if all of the components are made the right way and to the The Garbage Truck the answer is a resounding YES. My favorite components that I get back in Roc are cheeseburger, hot dog (please add option of white or red!), mac salad and home fries (crinkle cut fries work too). The meat sauce, ketchup, mustard and chopped onions were all present and accounted for. Guys, thank you for doing this in LA. I'll be back and please more visits East of La Brea! Solid well earned 5.

I have been waiting to try this since moving here back in August and I can say that I am not disappointed. I did my undergrad in Rochester and very often ate at Nick Tahoe hots and I can say this food truck delivers on their ability to bring Rochester's culinary claim to fame to LA. Unfortunately, because it's LA, the plates aren't $7, but $15. At the end of the day to be able to get a pretty solid plate when I'm craving one makes me give this place and instant 5 stars. The meat sauce is really spot on too. I am a little sad that the home fries weren't super crispy, but it did not detract from the overall plate. I will definitely find myself back here again. (Also note that they are located outside Bigfoot West on Venice Blvd Friday nights!)

I only tried the Philly cheese fries. They were a little too saucy for my taste but overall still very good. I would get them with the sauce on the side next time.

@THEGARBAGETRUCK I never thought I'd eat from a garbage truck...but alas I did recently! Now before you give me a strange and weird look...let me explain. I got food from a food truck called "The Garbage Truck."The Garbage Truck was next to another food truck that my coworker and I were trying and we decided we wanted to split an order of "trash fries." Trash fries are $4.50 and basically are their fries topped with onions, ketchup, mustard, tabasco and their special meat sauce. It looks like chili cheese fries/animal fries except that it's a bunch of mixed sauces piled on top. The fries are also not your traditional long fries but instead are square potatoes. The trash fries were super spicy! I'm not sure how much tabasco they piled on but they must have sprinkled a whole lot of hot sauce on that little dish! My friend and I needed a sip of water after just trying one potato. Lol.All in all the trash fries were interesting...as interesting as the name of this truck and the concept of eating from a garbage truck ;). What I mean is, it is unique. Unique, spicy mix of sauces that made one interesting dish.

I am a bad boy. Ultimate chili fries? I wanna be bad for life! I wouldn't normally say this, but Rochester NY rules! Straight from Rochester, comes the idea of Garbage...they have it everywhere on menus. This should be national! Heck, international!Picture this:----------------Fries, chili, mac&cheese, onions, cheese, mustard, ketchup, and a BURGER. Then, for $2 more, add a HOT DOG. What does this spell? GARBAGEPositives:-------------* great big dog, sliced into chucks* very nice gentsNegatory:-------------1/2 off stars for the mac&cheese (it's mac salad, and okay at that), and the burger, which is a frozen patty.Other:---------They have wraps and burritos, but salad?? Fuhgeddaboudit!

I just tried them for lunch and I was so disappointed with my meal. The fries were hella greasy and soft yuk I couldn't eat ut. I order food from trucks all the time and just wanted a good hot dog.The service was fast and friendly but sorry can't recommend to my coworkers. The trash dog which had a sweet taste maybe from relish. The fries man I tossed all that out. It was so much grease I could've polished someone's car. My hands were so shiny it was fresh cut fries not crispy.

I order the Original Trash plate, and got what I expected. It was tasty, definitely different from anything I've had, but I don't need to try it again.Mac salad beside some home fried potatoes, with a burger and chili on top of it all.Price point of $11 was a little much.

I grew up in Rochester, NY and during a recent visit, I discovered the garbage plate. My gourmet friends wondered if I was kidding them when I told them what was in it. This is the ulitmate combination of comfort foods all one plate. There is nothing gourmet about it, good food on top of good food on top of more good food covered with chili, ketchup and mustard. The only thing missing are the White Hots. The minute I placed my order, I could tell from the accent that these guys are from Rochester and this is the real deal. It is not for the faint of heart or for people who want gourmet, this is good food at its best. I ordered the Combo plate with fries, mac salad, a hot dog, a burger, chili, onion, ketchup and mustard.

I RARELY write a 1 star review but this was so 1 star that I had to do it! I'm sorry guys. You seem like some nice boys but y'all will need to step it up in terms of quality. I'm not a food snob, I'll eat most anything but really? Wow.I was not drunk and I did not enjoy this food and it was FREE!! The place where I work catered one day for us. I am a food truck whore so I was sooooo excited when I found out that lunch was going to be catered by a food truck. I couldn't WAIT to get in line but I will get straight to the point. I was sorely disappointed. I do have to say, the name of the truck is pretty spot on - GARBAGE - they didn't lie when they said it was garbage food. I mean, I get it, they are not trying to be a healthy food truck or gourmet food truck. I get it. I eat "bad" stuff all the time. You'll find me at McDonald's on any given day but really, the quality of the food was like way below McDonald's/Taco Bell/Del Taco. If I am going to eat PROCESSED food, I might was well go to fast food and pay $5 less. Couldn't believe they charge $8-$10 bucks for this stuff. They must make a crap load of money cuz you know they purchased their food from Smart and Final or Food For Less!I saw what everyone else was getting and thought it was so gross. So I just opted for a plane old fashioned burger. Nothing amazing that I couldn't have just whipped up at home if I went to Food for Less and did the shopping myself. The BURGER patty was mediocre - frozen and store bought - I'm sure they didn't make it fresh in the truck. The FRIES where potato cubes - frozen and store bought - I'm sure they didn't cut up the potato and fry it fresh in the truck. My coworker got the GRILLED CHEESE with the NASTY CHILI looking thing on top with the "fries" - I tried it and it was gross. Seasoning was all off like they were trying to spice it up. I had to wash it down with my drink and I normally can eat ANYTHING!MAC and CHEESE - was not real mac and cheese - is there a trend here? Tthere is no way they made this fresh. It really tasted like that nasty cold MACRONI SALAD that you see in large tubs at Smart and Final. I know cuz my ex used to eat this shit all the time. I've had it and it's so gross. People always bring this shit to BBQ's ... why?Basically, nothing is fresh. It's frozen or processed.MAYBE, JUST MAYBE, if I was drunk, I'd eat this but it totally reminded me of nasty cafeteria food that they serve kids in the ghetto. Serious. NO LIE.There was on thing on the menu that I wanted to try - PIZZA ROLLS - but I was only allowed to order one thing. Stupid, I would have just let me order since the bill was being footed by the company. Not like they were giving out food tickets so didn't keep track of who already ordered and who didn't. But it's okay, I was on the honor system and didn't want to try the PIZZA ROLL after trying the CHILI.
