Amazing fish! We love their fish because the seasoning is good and it's fried nice and crisp! The service was also good.

This place is to go only. Outdoor dining available. Of fish is not your thing they also have friend chicken. Everything is prepared to order so there will be a slight wait. I ordered the shrimp and whiting with hush puppies and fries. The shrimp and hush puppies were my favorites. The fries were ok. The food came out piping hot and travelled well back home.

They've always had fresh, flavorful food, and the customer service is top-notch. The hush puppies are my absolute favorite, and if you have a sweet tooth, don't miss the sweet potato pie and lemon cake--they're delicious! The recent renovation looks amazing, giving the place a fresh, modern feel while keeping that Long Beach charm. So happy to have this local staple open again!

I recently visited The Fish Shack under its new ownership and was delighted to find that the classic taste remains unchanged! I tried the red snapper combo with shrimp, and it was absolutely delicious. The new owner is wonderfully welcoming, enhancing experience with their warmth. Holy week! no meat! we found this place in yelp!Food - we ordered tilapia & red snapper fish& chips with sides fries, sweet potato, macaroni salad & hush puppies and it is delish.. enough servings for a complete satisfaction! drinks diet coke & H2O.Service - was acceptable staff are friend but our order took more than 10minsAmbiance - place does not have dine in area, and you will see me buying food here at night. go figure. we will definitely come back if we are in the area.

First time, the fish was cooked superbly! Also the french fries and cold slaw were yummy. Good quick and polite service! The ambience was very clean and well lit! Can't wait to go back.

Was in the mood for some fish and chips and happened to be driving right by The Fish Shack, so I stopped in. They have quite the menu at good prices too! Even chicken options if fish isn't your thing. I went with their fish and shrimp combo, which was 2 pieces of fried fish + 5 pieces of shrimp, 2 sides and 1 roll. For the sides, I went with the fries and coleslaw. For the fish, you get 5 different options. I asked what their most popular was and they said catfish and red snapper, so I went with the red snapper. They also offer 2 dipping sauces with the combo and have 4 options, but I went with the tarter for mine. Person working the counter was very friendly taking my order and talking me through the menu too! Got my buzzer and hung out for a bit while they whipped everything up. They do not have an inside or outside sitting area either, only to go, which works for me. Wait was pretty spot on for a fish spot too, especially fresh... not bad at all. Fish was great! Breading was nice and crispy and fish was tender on the inside. Shrimps were good too and same, breading was nice and crispy. Tartar sauce was decent, not the best I've had, but it was good. Fries were great, nice and crispy. Coleslaw was legit too! My only complaint was with the roll, it was very basic and not very soft. It honestly tasted like it was a prepackaged roll from a grocery store or it was days old... but I've even had better prepackaged ones. If I could recommend a change, either bake fresh or even switch to a cornbread. Took one star off for that roll. Overall, great place and I'll be back when I'm in the mood for some fish and chips! Definitely recommended!

This place is always a home run! We ordered the Oysters (light batter) 1lb Snapper & 1 LB Catfish. These are the best fried oysters around!

As I was craving fried fish, I came across The Fish Shack on Yelp. I decided to give them a try because it was within close proximity and I was hungry! The Fish Shack looks fairly new or renovated. It's a walk up restaurant so there's no seating inside. The menu was pretty standard for a fish fry market. You could order fish, shrimp or chicken or a combo. The sides were limited, but fries, Mac salad and potatoe salad were your options. They make it to order so you will wait 10 to 15 minutes. I ordered the red snapper just to try something I haven't had in a while. I got the 4 piece meal. The portions were huge! The Fish was hot and filleted with tons of fries underneath. You also get a roll and two sides. Overall, the seasoning was good, not great, as well as the crust. I tend to like a cornmeal style crust and this seemed to be a batter or flour based. If I don't want to drive further out, I'd definitely go back.

It's good. Fried food. You get choices of fish which is nice. A bit pricey. Nowhere to sit. It's a take out place. Staff is nice. Exterior is clean.
