The Chicken Shack

I feel so STUPID... CHEATED... and it's all my fault. Because when I worked in Hermosa Beach, I drove by this place every single day... and never stopped. STOOOO-pid me! First time in and I had the 1/2 chicken, garlic rice, and steamed veggies. 3 dipping sauces of varying degrees. All was very good - well above average! Friendly staff, too. There's limited seating and parking, but don't allow that to deter you. With a phenomenal menu and well executed dishes, don't pass on this place. Prices are tad bit high, which is my only criticism.Go here.

We ordered 1/2 chicken with the vegetables, garlic rice, and fries.The chicken had too much pepper for my taste but the other person I had it with enjoyed it. The vegetables tasted like the frozen vegetables that you get from the store and microwave... The fries were good. The garlic white rice is was the real star of the show. It was so freakin good! Everything else was subpar to me.

Ordered the junior cut with tropical potato salad and green vegetables, Grandma's chicken soup, carrot cake.junior cut - chicken was moist, tasted good. Small portion though. Tropical potato salad - gross. Super sugary and the consistency of soup. Unfortunately we threw it outGreen vegetables - canned and frozen it appeared. No seasoning at all so very bland. Chicken soup - terrible. Weird flavors, overly salty and no good. Super small portion too. Carrot cake - fineOrdered the junior cut with tropical potato salad and green vegetables, Grandma's chicken soup, carrot cake.Sauces - we paid extra for sauces and they closed the bag with a staples puncturing multiple sauces. Sauces come pre packed anyways. The white sauce they said if yogurt based was ranch dressing. Disappointing.

Pollo Saltado is delicious loved the flavor and crispy fries. The staff was attentive.

Enjoyed our dinner here last night! It's a hole-in-the-wall joint off the main road but glad we stumbled upon it. Was in the mood for Peruvian food and this hit the spot! We ordered the Pollo Saltado and Classic Cut Rotisserie Chicken Combo. Friendly waitstaff. Don't let the place scare you on the outside, the food is good so go inside!

WOW. Angry, disappointed & left hungry. Avidly order from here via delivery and was so shocked to find MOLD on both breads of our Shack Sandwiches. No it's not "black specks from the bread" that's MOLD!!!! French fries also came missing this time. They need to step up their quality standards because I could've gotten really really sick if we had eaten that! Going to avoid this place now, super disappointing as the food was delicious before.

First time here and I have to say the rotisserie chicken had great flavor ! A bit over priced, but it's the area so I get it. Great service and with a smile ! Looking forward to trying the other dishes !

Food was sooo good. Service was great. The steak was cooked perfectly. Very generous portions and the staff is awesome!

Favorite Peruvian food around! Service is excellentAmbiance is : small and family owned, you can tell in the flavors.

Never again! What a disappointment! Chicken was so dry it made me gag, very over priced for mediocre at best food. The owner seemed annoyed we wanted to dine in. Not going back. With so many other choices they need to make some changes.
