One of the best breakfast I had!
A bit overpriced at $16, but service was pleasant and quick. Potato pancake was a bit burned & mushy on inside but, overall recommendable.

If you're in the Long Beach area, definitely check out the Breakfast Bar! I went here before my long travel home to GA and it was a perfect way to end my trip. This location was located in Downtown LB near a number of hotels so if you are visiting, then this a place you'll want to visit. Their hours are pretty limited as I saw that they are only open from 6am-2pm everyday so be mindful of that.My favorite food item was definitely the potato cake; it was the perfect flavor and texture! If you're an Eggs Benedict person like me, then the Shrimp Bruschetta Eggs Benedict is a must try! I like how they chopped up the shrimp, but not too finely where you can't taste it. It was such a nice blend with the other ingredients they used. It also came with a sauce that I recommend pouring on top of the bruschetta. I also really enjoyed the French Toast. It was cooked to perfection and the fruit on top was fresh. For parking, I noticed a lot attached to the restaurant, however, I'm unsure if you have to pay or if it's free (we ubered there). The inside of the restaurant is very cute! They have indoor and a patio seating options. Overall, great customer service and we enjoyed our experience!

This was my first and last time eating here. I was with a friend (who frequents this place) for a business meeting. It started out ok, but instead of going up, it went down. This place is situated by a hotel in downtown Long Beach. There were lots of people waiting to eat here so I was excited to try it. We sat outside and the weather was nice, the waiter was great, though I can't remember his name, he was amazing through the drama to come. So...I ordered chicken and waffles, finished the waffles, and had started on the chicken (two wings) when I saw a medium sized straight black hair had been cooked in the batter. Yep, it was human and from someone's head and hopefully not their body. Disgusted, why, yes I was. Unhappy, absolutely. Paying for the meal, nope, never. It wasn't a ring piece of hair that dropped on the plate or food. It was cooked in the hanging out. I almost ate it. Nauseous, yep.In my mind, only one way to handle this - be discreet, quietly inform the waiter, and not pay for eating batter hair and almost eating hair. The waiter was nice, polite, patient, understanding. The manager on the other hand, didn't even bother to come to the table even when we requested him. Instead he offered $5 off and has the waiter deliver his messages, which I refused to hear because I requested the manager so I could speak to him directly. The cowardice to hide in the back or wherever he was and have the waiter speak to me and offend me with the lowball discount for serving and my eating contaminated food was so unprofessional, rude, and insulting. In the end, the meal was discounted, but the manager wanted the waiter to give me final words of "next time..." I interrupted to let him know there would not be a next time. I would never come back to a place that served contaminated food with a manager who hides from guests when something so bad happens. Again, this was not a small piece of hair. It was fried into the batter, which means I ate hair chicken and so did everyone else who was there this morning. Yuck. I'm now writing this with an upset stomach and slight headache that is possibly food poisoning. My friend loves this place and said she only has had great experiences when she eats there. So. Maybe this was an off day? Like really off day? Either way the way the manager handles or mishandled the situation made things worse. If he had come out and apologized, stated that this was a rare occasion and asked how he could remedy the situation, I would not be writing this type of review, though I'd still mention my bubbling tummy and facts. I just would have had nicer things to write about the business and manager. I asked for him over five times and he refused to come out. So, I'm going to refuse to ever go there again and highly do not recommend to anyone. We all take a risk when we go out to eat, so standards should not slip. The quality control in the kitchen, to the waiter, to the table should be pristine.I would have posted the chicken hair batter, but I don't want to gross anyone out and I can't look at it again knowing I ate that wing. Yucky yuck yuck...

Let me start with a clarification, 4.5 stars! And I'll explain whyIn love with this breakfast spot. My friend took me here after running a morning 5k and we were greeted by the hostess right away. We ordered the chicken fried breakfast and eggs N-E-way. They were soooo delicious and perfect to satisfy our hunger. My country fried chicken breakfast was cooked perfectly; chicken was very juicy and tender on the inside and crispy on the outside, eggs sunny side was perfect, and the gravy was delicious! The environment was so nice, felt very cozy and inviting. We chose to sit inside because it was still cold for the patio. Loved the decor and especially the Long Beach skyline/panoramic photo on the wall.I'm taking off 0.5 stars because the service at the tableside wasn't up to my expectations. No water refill the whole time we were there, when asked for condiments for the fries, it seemed like he didn't want to get it, and when given the check, it felt rushed like they wanted us to leave quickly. Might be overthinking, but I did get those vibes.Anyways, I'd love to come back after another morning run

Very OK. Our waitress, Vanessa was very sweet and attentive. However, the food was not as good as we expected given the reviews. We ordered the grilled cheese with egg and the breakfast burrito as our mains. In addition, we got one pancake to share. All around, the meal lacked flavor and definitely could be improved. If you're a vegetarian/vegan, skip the soyrizo. The chai latte was pretty great though. It did start to rain and they had a lot of umbrellas outside to keep us covered which was a HUGE help.

Visited the Breakfast Bar on a Wednesday afternoon. There is indoor and outdoor seating which are both clean and spread out. My server was attentive and friendly, in fact the whole staff was helpful and kind. I tried the Shrimp Bruschetta Benedict, the Breakie Sammie and the French Toast. The bruschetta Benedict was the most delicious dish I've had in a while, the flavors complimented each other well and the dish was perfectly portioned and not heavy. The potato pancake that accompanied the dish was light and flaky super soft on the inside! The breakie sammie was good, the only comment is that the bacon is very thick. Very filling. The French toast was also tasty! Light and airy served with warm syrup - chefs kiss! I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a at home (elevated) breakfast experience.

I have passed this place for years almost 10 to be exact, so before I ended 2024 I stopped in to meet a friend for breakfast. From the outside it doesn't look big but when you walk inside bam this place is amber spacious!!!Greeted by a server we were seated and menus delivered, he asked what we would like to drink and coffee and orange juice more myself. So much on the menu so many choices but one did catch my eye, The Papa Joe with Pig Candy!! The waiter said that was a perfect choice the pig candy was a awesome upgrade!! In no time out came our orders since we both ordered the same thing not much to talk about the egg and bacon cooked in the center of a thick piece of Texas toast and the bacon aka Pig candy was delicious. All in all Good Service Good Food I will definitely be back!!!

This place came recommended by 4 people the moment I hit Long Beach and it is not a disappointment!Come alone or with company! If dining by yourself, enjoy the bar with Nina and Kelly. Everyone is friendly here and makes you feel a part of the community.Inside and outside dining. If you are hard pressed to decide, servers are happy to recommend. They have something for the sweet tooth or a protein hound like me.Marcee's Omelet Casserole was recommended to me. You can add something in the egg dish, but I would recommend leaving it be. Ask for avocado. Mine slices were perfectly ripened and sliced. Great serving of good fats in my diet. It comes with a little cup of freshly prepared pico de gallo that balances the richness of the eggs. Texturrific! Soft in the middle, brown on the top. Accompanying it is a perfectly breaded and fried potato cake. Isn't it cute? The fruit cup is generous with pristine freshly cut fruit! Nothing limp in here. This is a fun place to come, and I look forward to the Eggs Benedict.

I cannot stand how great the food is here, your taste buds with thank you. They nailed it here!Executive summary:Service: 5/5Depth of menu: 5/5Good for groups: 5/5Drinks: 4/5Parking: 3/5Flavor: 5/5If you are looking for a spot to grab some breakfast, I highly recommend this breakfast place near downtown Long Beach. Here's why.The service is alway friendly and attentive. This place has a hometown feel and vibe so you feel welcome as soon as you check in with the host. You just have to get here before the breakfast and lunch time rush. As for parking, you can park at the hotel parking lot adjacent to the restaurant, it is limited so be conscious of that. There are some tables outside, the tables on the inside has a hometown vibe and very welcoming. If you have group, this place can accommodate your group you will have to get here before the breakfast rush. I usually order the Papa Joe, the tater tots are crispy and made to order. If you are hungry this will satisfy your hunger. There are a good number of breakfast places near the downtown Long Beach area this is at the top of my hit list.
