After all this time, it's still a great place to eat from. I'd recommend the Firsherman's lunch, worth the price and delicious as well as the Daddy Bowls, but everything else on the menu is tasty. Highly recommend and it's a family run place on top of that. Great spot.

First time ordering seafood from Boil Daddy, located inside Daisy Diner Long Beach (a ghost kitchen located near our place in Long Beach, CA), we ordered a lot for 4 people, and it was good.I've ordered food from this ghost kitchen multiple times, the brands change frequently (I swear that there are 3 birria places alone inside, all serving the exact same food at same prices), but the same set of cuisines is consistent. It's a nice set-up, optimized for delivery drivers to quickly pick up their food...and end consumers can take advantage of the same set-up. We had a soon to expire meal voucher for $96 from Delta because of our canceled flight for the previous day, so decided to try a place that allowed use of a virtual debit/cash card (there was no physical card so the easiest way was to use an ecommerce site to manually enter the number). Boil Daddy opens at 10am daily, specializing in Cajun/Vietnamese seafood boils. Placed a pickup order via Doordash at 11, and I got an email around 11:12 letting me know the order was ready. Because the package was too big to put inside a self-serve footlocker, the self-checkin kiosk told me to wait in line to pick up my order from the small pick-up area. We brought the food home, and was pleased that everything was exactly right (correct items and sauces). Boil Daddy does offer both snow crab and king crab, but it's expensive as expected...found ordering shrimp as the main course is a lot more cost efficient and almost as good...even when I wanted to splurge. I also found that the Fisherman's Lunch is a self contained seafood boil for one, and a better deal than ordering a family meal.-- order of fries ($6) was the McDonald shoestring kind and was fine, probably equal to a extra large. - 4x Fisherman's lunch ($18 each). choice of head-on shrimp (half lb), mussels, clams, plus one corn, 3 quarter wedges of red skin-on potato, and 3 sausage slices. You can also choose type of sauce (cajun, butter, or mix) and hotness (original which is no spice, mild, hot, extra hot. Got 3 mild with shrimp, and 1 hot with mussels. I added an add-on of 5 sausage slices ($4.75).- Fried Oyster Basket ($19). 8 fried oysters, fries, and side of sauce (same as above). The oysters were small, well fried, but still had that brininess which I enjoyed and it was good being dipped. - container of sauce ($6.75). Spicy. My intention is to use to make my own boil much later. Assuming it freezes well. The food was surprisingly solid, as good as the many other seafood boil places all around Long Beach. The shrimp had been thawed from frozen but wasn't mealy at all (though very messy since it was hands on and was not shelled in anyway). And don't expect the shrimp to have been deveined...it's head-on for Pete's sake. The potato was cooked through, the corn on the cob was half (instead of the cobette that I'm used to), and the sausage slices were large and tasty. The sauce was very thick and did a nice job of coating everything, and the original was fine if you don't want any hotness. They did a really good job of packaging and labeling each one, if one chose to buy individual lunches. This was one case where buying individual units instead of one large family choice was a better deal. There was enough food for my wife to have leftovers for dinner.Even though you can order directly from Daisy Diner via their website or their onsite kiosk, I've found it better to order from a 3rd party delivery service like Doordash, even for pickup. The prices are the same (which is surprising considering there must be a fee paid by the vendor for using Doordash), and there are usually some sort of special or deal (in our case, it was $23 off of any order $50+).

Beware of Name Change!! New Name - Same Crap!!Grub Hub listed the restaurant as The Boil Daddy but they are now renamed The Shaking Crab - Long Beach!! I didn't realize it was the same restaurant until after I received my order and saw the address was the same. 01.26 - Boil Daddy Order - Fish was undercooked (raw in the middle) and the peel shrimp I paid extra for was delivered with the head and feet 05.11 - The Shaking Crab Order - Food was 20mins late, cold, soggy and the peel shrimp I order was delivered with the head and feed AGAIN!! Plus the mild sauce I selected was Hot AF - like burn your booty hole kinda hot!Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I could chalk up the first time to errors - staff might have had a rough night or maybe they were slammed. but wow, second time with the new name!? Uhhh, shady much?Save your money.Don't order from here.Dishonest name changes.Food is less than decent & not prepared correctly.

Placed an order through door dash and the delivery came after 45 minutes. it was 90 bucks for 2 lbs shrimp, lobster, and some crab legs.Flavor wise this place is good but the price is not great. and the shrimps that we got were pretty small in comparison to what I usually get at kicking crab.

Gave me wrong order and there is no way to contact this restaurant as all the numbers do not work. I wasn't goin to complain if the food blew me away but tbh my hometown in Indiana has a better boil than this spot. That's not a good thing. Potatoes not done properly. Dry asl ordered headless shrimp and got head on shrimp. Ordered a sailers lunch thing and that didn't even come with the rice or anything. Other order wasn't supposed to have mussels but that bag got mussels. It's a lot of money to be paying for this type of service and product. It sucks bc I do enjoy the flavor of the sauce and the seafood did seem good. But there wasn't even enough sauce so I felt like I was eating plain boiled shrimp. Not impressed overall with the experience.

The food was tasty but they do not give you enough sauce. The fact that they charge extra for was is crazy because that should be part of the boil.

I ordered through uber eats. There are a lot of these crab boil places in long beach. I only ordered the shrimp boil which is buy one get one free. One of my only complaint is that they do not give enough sauce. I ordered the hottest sauce and it was not very hot at all. When you call the sauce OMG. I expect my butt whole to be on fire.

I wish 0 star was available. I used to order often when I had a craving for seafoods but not anymore. For the first time, a shrimp was not cleaned properly. I tasted a soil(sand) and I looked at shrimp and it obviously showed a soil in there. I eat seafood for taste and healthy stuff but if this not cleaned properly, what's the point I eat this as a healthy treat. A manager and an owner must know how their staff work and this is a manager's fault. He or she should be aware of all food safety and quality.

Not what was expected. The flavor was a bit bland for a seafood boil. I received a suggestion from social media, and 2 locations didn't allow you to take out but online order and pick up (the area was a little questionable in the Lon Beach location) so we left and ended up in Carson. Overall the experience was disappointing. Now, the food could have changed the experience of driving here and there, but my party and myself were disappointed completely with the flavor of the seafood boil. We did notice later that people who boasted about the place all got side orders of sauce that was poured over whatever you were eating at the moment. If only we had know in advance. Of course reviews are what you read in advance, but we had a long day at Catalina Island and didn't have time for seafood dinners on the Island and just decided to just try it!
