Came here on my birthday with the family. This is a dimly lit high-end steakhouse playing trendy music. The service from beginning to end was impeccable. They had a signed birthday card. The server was knowledgeable about the menu. She had a great energy and was friendly. The food was delicious. We had a wedge salad, fresh Parker house rolls, and had three steaks and three sides. The steaks were tender, cooked to our requested temp, well seasoned and accompanied by tasty sauce options. I went with the truffle butter that had flecks of black truffle. The mashed potatoes were smooth and I'd guess about 40-50% butter by weight. The grilled broccolini was delicious. My favorite though were the crispy Brussels sprouts. They surprised me with a baked Alaska for dessert which they set on fire with liquor. It maybe toasted the meringue a bit more than I would like but it was fantastic. I also ordered their banana split which was fantastic. My daughters a had Shirley Temple. I had a blackberry sage ice tea. I was a bit disappointed it was not house made given they clearly have a cocktail program. It was okay. Cost wise, it was about $300+ with tip for 4 people and no booze. Bottom line, will I be back? Absolutely yes. Great experience. Yummy food. Amazing service.

The service was amazing 10/10 so nice and beautiful ambiance. However my husband and I both ended up sick AF the next day. We got oysters, steak, and shrimp cocktail as well as some sides. Assuming it was the oysters ........ super bummed bc it happened to be my birthday dinner

The Arthur J was recommended to me by my uncle as I was searching for a new and exciting restaurant to dine at for my birthday ( 1/17 ). Upon googling, it is said The Arthur J is one of Los Angeles best Steakhouses according to Eater Los Angeles and for good reason. The atmosphere at The Arthur J is dim lighting with a candle on each table with adult contemporary music filling the room. Certainly, this sets the mood of sophisticated and relaxing. Our server, Nicole approached us and gave us the run down on their nightly specials as well as their cuts of meat and other dishes. She was very informative and honest and detailed on how each dish is made and what the dish is about. Now to the good stuff, the food. My dad ordered the Grilled Shetland Island Salmon ( cooked all the way through ) which he very much enjoyed! My mom ordered the Arthur j steak sampler ( medium ). The sampler included R&R tenderloin, Prime NY Strip, and Snake River Wagyu Flat Iron all 4 ounces each. I got to try each steak piece and all were phenomenal but that Flat Iron melts in your mouth, absolutely wonderful! My mom very much enjoyed her steak sampler! I went with the Ribeye Steak, 16 ounces medium rare. The ribeye was cooked to order and was very very delicious. I had it paired with the chimichurri which was very tasty. I also shared my steak with my parents and they also thought the ribeye was very very delicious! For dessert, I was surprised with the Chocolate Hazelnut Baked Alaska which they set on fire ???? Absolutely wonderful presentation ! And was very delicious , my first time having. Nicole even brought out a complimentary bone marrow starter which was all of our first time having which was very delicious ! Paired well with the toast ! Nicole and the rest of the wait staff at The Arthur J were very welcoming and hospitable. They were attentive all the time during our dinner. The Arthur J proves why they are listed as one of the best steakhouses in LA. Thank you Nicole for providing amazing table service for my birthday dinner. Surely we will be back!!

This place has a Sexy and dark ambience, perfect for date night or an intimate gathering. Their speciality is steak and they did not disappoint. Their selection of steak toppings are a nice touch as well as their freshly baked popovers with strawberry butter. Reservations recommended, no valet, metered street parking

I was pleased with their portion sizes and flavor! Everything seemed fresh and tasted amazing! The lobster fusilli is a must, although I wouldve enjoyed more lobster (there wasnt much). The crab cake was also great. Drinks are good; do NOT order the sparkling water, it's Voss so there are basically no bubbles. The servers are kind and attentive, but it can get busy. The ambiance is very "date night" (dim lighting, next to the beach, etc.) but there were plenty of kids there. No valet, street parking only.

Amazing steakhouse to celebrate special occasions. Arthur J is part of the SIMMS restaurant group which I love visiting for nice dinners. Arthur J is one of the fancier restaurants within the group. The ambiance is great and the inside has a really cool, sleek retro vibe. I've dined here during covid too where I was seated outside and they made the outdoor seating area cozy and nice as well. I recommend the medium rare Filet Minon and the Prime Dry Aged Tomahawk Steak. The steak here is incredible. It came out so moist and delicious. I've had the Steak Sampler twice. The first time I had it, it was amazing and the second time, the quality wasn't up to par with my first experience for all the cuts of steak. Some of the slices of steak were not as soft as usual that one day I had it.For sides, absolutely get the mashed potatoes. They are so buttery, soft, and heavenly!! You can also add mushrooms on top of steak for extra charge. Service is really wonderful here. The staff is sweet and welcoming and they really try to make dinner celebrations memorable. They give a complimentary birthday dessert. I've also been given a free appetizer on the house once and I can't recall exactly why but it was really sweet.Cocktails here are tasty. I really enjoy the Sexy Thyme which is a refreshing cucumber vodka cocktail. I'm rating Arthur J an overall 5 star since I leave happy every time and the steak is just so good.

Came here for my birthday celebration. We ordered Tomahawk, pork chops, branzino, pasta and sides of brussel sprouts, Mac n cheese and broccolini but the favorite was their ribeye steak! We enjoyed everything though. Service was great although there was a mishap with the drinks. We were gifted a bottle of champagne that was supposed to be served in the beginning but instead it didn't come out until right before we ordered our desserts. Not sure if this was an error at the front desk or the servers but since the arrangement was made a week prior and expensive menu items, one can expect a more organized system. A bit loud inside so if you're looking for a nice steakhouse that's more romantic, not sure if this is the place for you BUT let me repeat, their food is amazing!

The Arthur J is a high end steak house in Manhattan Beach. Choose your cut of beef from the menu and the level of cooking, from seared raw to well done. Choose your sauce or butter for your meat. Then choose topping and or sides, extra. Sides are not included with your entree. I found the sides/ salads to be big enough to share for 2 to 3 people. The wine list is extensive. Our waiter was extremely helpful in explaining and helping us choose a bottle of wine with our meal. Everything here is high end and pricey, but worth it. The quality is outstanding. Very softly lit interior with candles on the tables. The rest rooms have pictures of iconic celebrities from the 60's and 70's. The interior design is contemporary. If you are a connoisseur of good meat and fine dining this is the place for you.
