Review: This spot has an incredible retro punk-gothic vibe that makes for a fun and unique experience. The atmosphere is youthful and laid-back, perfect for chilling out with drinks. The seating setup is comfortable, making it easy to relax and enjoy the night. Whether you're into the aesthetic or just looking for a cool place with a great vibe, this place delivers. The only reason I'm not giving it five stars is that I wish there were even more themed elements to fully immerse in the experience. Overall, a great place to hang out!

I recently visited The Anarchy Library with a group of pals. The place is dimly lit. The sound system was pretty good inside. I didn't have any alcohol, but I did go on the dancefloor for a bit. I liked that there were music videos, movie clips, and animation clips streaming on the moniters. I would say that I wish the place were a bit more spacious and clean. I wish there were more better ventilation inside as well.

I frequented the Anarchy ON "ROCKERS WEDNESDAYS " were a big hit!!!They played nothing but sweet reggae music, with local reggae bands in tow!!! Although those were the past of the days...Anarchy still kicks ass with the varied range of music they play !!! Drinks are reasonable vibe is great, never had a problem with staff...nor crowds. The only complaint I have is the smell of the restrooms yall need to either hire an onsite janitor or invest in Clorox bleach, pinesol and a mop!!!

I really wished I didn't have to write this review because I truly love the Anarchy library. Before I get to it , I do want to shout out the manager/bartender whom I've always gone to get my drinks from for caring enough to come out to ask my side of the story and make sure I was okay. She is a great representation of what this bar should be. I don't have a problem with the bar itself or bartenders who are always sweet and cool w me. Always a good time. Never had a problem. The cheap drinks and the music is my favorite and I've never cared about what people be saying in these comments about the restroom and the sticky floors etc lol it's a damn dive bar. Im writing this post because of a situation that unfolded involving new security they are hiring. They might not be new but I don't recall ever seeing these two men before. I frequent Anarchy library, have been a patron for decades. I've acknowledged certain over intoxicated people and I've trusted the security guards enough to tap them on the shoulder and let them know of people needing help in the past. This time around was different. I was in the women's restroom with my fiance and tried to open the restroom door on our way out the bar. I know anarchy gets crowded but this occasion there was some space for me to open the door. When I tried to open the door someone kept shutting the door on me. I placed my leg in between the door to try to open it and noticed one of the security guards Hispanic man with glasses forcing the door shut again on my leg. Other bystanders tried to help open the door for me . When I got a good look at the security guy I followed him to the bar where he was standing with another security guard, African American man with braids or dreads , skinny and taller than the first guy. I tapped the first security guy on the arm and told him "hey just want to say I didn't appreciate you forcing the door on me you almost hurt me" he took it so personal and said to me" you don't look hurt " and I said "no ,but you could have hurt me or someone else", he responded with " are you hurt ? No , if you don't like it there's the door" The 2nd security guard became aggressive and got in my face (keep in mind I'm 5'1" woman, this guy was much taller ) and said " bitch you don't like it gtfo " I responded with " all I said was to just be a good person and he almost hurt me"The 2nd guard escalated the issue when it didn't need to and seems he took my comment personal When I said" just be a good person" he then brought his mom into the conversation which my fiancé and I couldn't understand. why the flying fuck would you bring your mama into this? (Was so confused). lolThere was no need for them to escalate the situation to the point where the 2nd man picked me up and aggressively escorted me out the bar - I wasn't being aggressive or rude to warrant that behavior. I kept trying to hold on to things around me and grabbed onto someone at the door while repeatedly yelling at the African American security guard carrying me that he was hurting me. I really felt he was going to throw me onto the polls they have outside around the smoking area. That is how rough this man was being. The vibe I got from the two security guards during my last visit is the same unwelcoming disrespectful energy I've encountered at their sister bar across the street "cocktails anyone" which I stopped going to. I've continued to go to Anarchy because it felt more inviting and safe for LGBTQ and women and the security guards really did their jobs without intentionally hurting anyone. If these men are security coming from the other establishment "cocktails anyone" you've lost a customer who has been supporting this bar for years. Whatever it is that these two "security" guards have going on at home was brought to their work place leading them to be angry and intentionally hurt someoneAnd it doesn't help that other women witnessing tried to convince me to just let it go because one of them almost had their ankle broken by another security guard?!!! WowBut my fiancée and I no longer feel safe because of this. These two guys ruined my damn experience. But This time around I only bought 1 drink and a water for myself. Yet I am still so confused by the situation that left me feeling so disrespected and attacked.I know there's days where yes you have to be tough on people when they get drunk and aggressive but this was not the case. Please do better on hiring security who don't let their emotions get the best of them.Ps security dude w glasses whatever your name is , you said I didn't look hurt, You tell me if I was hurt or not and also your buddy who doesn't know what "you're hurting me " means which makes me believe the word "no" Means nothing to him , do better.

The Anarchy Library has been on my list for a long time. It's one of those places that everyone says you should check out. I finally had a chance to go this past Friday. It was so much fun! The DJ played '80s, darkwave, new wave, rock en Español, and 2000s indie hits like "Deceptacon" by Le Tigre and "12:51" by The Strokes. Solid playlist. There is a $5 cash cover on Fridays and Saturdays. Bring cash! Import beers like Stella and Modelo are $6. Anarchy Library has a dive bar feel which I loved. I didn't think it was "dirty," I thought it was unique. It reminds me of the rocker divey bars in Austin, TX. Lots of rock and punk posters on the walls. The dancefloor is small, but it worked. The crowd was really vibing with each other. I would say the age range was about 21-45 or so. You won't feel too old or too young coming here which is amazing. That is a big reason for the 5 stars. This is one of the best crowds I've danced with in a long time. Even though we were strangers, we felt a connection with each other. That's good stuff. Dancing in the post "me too" movement hits different. None of the guys were aggressive or trying to hit on us. I felt they read the room and didn't try to talk to us unless we talked to them first. I could just enjoy catching up with my girlfriends without being bothered. I will be coming back often. I had a great time here!

Went on a Friday and the vibe was awesome. Beer before 10pm was $3. After it went up to $7. Wasn't a long wait time from bartender largely because they had 2 who were attentive. Music was good. For the fellas the restroom is for peeing only so take care of business before you get there is my advice.

Was there last week with my cousin and friends. The vibe was good and so was the music. Small intimate bar, cash only. The only thing i would like to make a request is for a gender neutral restroom or adding a lock to the men's restroom. Last Thursday I didn't bother using the restroom because there were multiple men waiting inside the restroom with no stall surrounding the toilet and didn't give me any privacy especially as a nonbinary trans person (myself) I would love to see this change of public restroom for the lgbtq + community. Thanks.
