This is, and always will be, my favorite Thai/Lao spot. Walking up, you'll find a small restaurant connected to a barbershop that offers some of the best papaya salad and a chicken and mint leaf dish that's super tasty. This might sound wild, but their coconut soup is one of the best I've ever had. I'd say It's neck and neck with a spot I love to eat at in Phuket, Thailand, and I've yet to find anything better than the 2. Definitely give them a try if you're in the area."

I love the lao papaya salad here. The portion is huge and spice is just right for me (I ordered medium spicy). Parking can be hard to find. I just parked in the plaza across the street (Northgate). They have some seating in front but most people just order takeout.

Great Pad Thai in large portions, for carry-out.There seems to be two food writers who follow the Long Beach food scene very closely (Brian Addison and James Tir), and they just published a long article (search for "Essential dishes from Long Beach restaurants in 2023"). James recommended the Pad Thai from Tasty Food To Go, so put this on my list to stop if in the area. That opportunity came on a Friday afternoon, as we were headed back from the OC.The Pad Thai ($13.95 + $3 for shrimp upcharge) is a great dish, with large portions, definitely enough for two sittings. I'm convinced that the best Pad Thai uses fresh shrimp as its protein (the unami from the fish sauce just makes the jumbo, plump shrimps just pop), with tofu being second (beef, pork, or chicken just doesn't work for me). This version was good, with the noodles extremely hot but not sticking together and the toppings like green onions, crushed peanuts, fresh bean sprouts, shredded carrots, all sprinkled on top. All the accolades doesn't seem to have changed the way they make their food, large portions and all. As mentioned many times by others, it is take-out and cash-only. There is some outdoor seating and plenty of families and couples were camped out in front, waiting for their food. Available street parking was non-existent, so ended up parking in the grocery store lot across the street temporarily, with my wife ready to move in case we got noticed. I did ask our order taker , and he mentioned that he hadn't heard of any customer being towed for parking there, but obviously couldn't promise anything. My order took about 15 minutes to be ready, and we were on our way. Should make a great dinner.

We came here because their Pad Thai has been living rent free in my bf's head since he last had it.We ordered the Pad Thai and Pad See Ew. I'm usually a Pad See Ew girl, but the Pad Thai here is exceptional. There are raw slivers of carrot and bean sprouts which provide so much crunch. The flavor of the noodles were perfectly balanced between savory, tangy and sweet. We ordered it with chicken but I would probably do shrimp or tofu next time.I would skip the Pad See Ew. It was pretty average, no charring on the noodles. I liked how they used Chinese Broccoli though. Ordering over the phone was easy! We parked at the grocery store across the street and ate in the car because it was raining. For two people, two portions were huge! We could probably share one Pad Thai next time. I'll be back next time I'm in the area!

Wow, I can't believe I never heard of this place. My cousin kept telling me I had to try this. He was right! He picked up a great spread for three people, and we left overs. We started with the coconut soup. The mild actually had enough heat and great flavor. I love the added little mushrooms, and the soup includes rice. The shrimp egg rolls were soooo crispy and fresh. We also ordered the cashew chicken. Wow! That dish was so addictive. We enjoyed it a little more than the pad Thai. I think we just didn't physically have space for the pad Thai after that. I'm definitely going to explore other dishes. We placed an order over had phone and was really easy to pick up. Be careful with the packaging it did tend to leak, but everything was still there, including the delicious sauce!
