Few people would expect to find a legit authentic Chinese restaurant attached to a Ramada Inn, but that's what's going on at Tasty China. The name may be off-putting, like a knock-off of Panda Express, but don't be fooled. My friends have been gathering and dining at this restaurant for years, but that was before the change of ownership. Before, it was an authentic but dated Chinese restaurant that offered home-style cooking. It has been transformed and elevated by the new owner.Xiaolongbao was definitely not on the menu before, and I was surprised by how good they were. The soup inside the delicate wrapping was rich and delicious, and each was steamed to perfection. We were also impressed by the stir-fried vegetable with garlic puree. The leaves were so tender and the garlic aroma was infused into the hot oil. The content of the whole plate vanished quickly. Finally, the pickled fish broth was unique and flavorful. The fish was tender and buttery, but the spiciness level caught me off guard. After one sip I couldn't stop coughing. The menu did indicate the spiciness with two red pepper symbols. Once you're acclimated to the heat, it's truly enjoyable, but consider yourself warned. It was not too crowded when we arrived around 11:30 am, but the restaurant quickly filled up. Each dish took its time to come out, and we savored each one serially. Ironically, the xiaolongbao came out first, even though it's a dish that usually takes the longest to prepare.Service was average, but the staff was eager to take your order, to the degree that I felt rushed.

Please check your bill before you pay! When I looked at my bill, I noticed one of the dishes we ordered was marked clearly $13.88 on the menu, however, we were charged for $18.99. One of the skinny waitress explained that the menus presented to the customers were old. Again, be sure to check your bill before paying for it.

So uneven. Charmingly hole in the wall ish and tucked awkwardly in front of the Ramada on PCH, the prices are right and the pork buns DO taste like grandmas.i didn't have a Chinese grandma but I know grandma's pork buns when I taste them. Additionally- the sweet sesame balls I like to eat as dessert before dinner - we're quite nice. That leaves the Dan Dan. It looked so beautiful sitting there a big handful of noodles dipped into a deep pool of spiced red pepper oil, chopped peanuts and meat- yum... how do you fudge that up? You put such an outrageous amount of msg in it that your tongue is begging for water before you finish one glass of bite. Not a problem if you like noodles in your msg but if you understand food- why would even happen? It's f you understand good fresh noodles, rich beautiful oil, peanuts and meat - why would you not let it speak for itself rather than be completely drowned out by salty mouth feel? This is a frustrating part of eating in LA. If you get good food you wonder if it's the one hit wonder of the place - an accident anyone could make bcs the fish you might get will 7times out g 10 be so effed up that it's nearly inedible. That being said, I will try this place one more time- their good is better than most places so it's worth digging for hopefully a gem of something there - maybe just avoid the Sunday chefs?

This is not your ordinary Chinese take-out. It's the real deal. Prices may seem high but it's so reasonable.I ordered the Typhoon Shrimp. I didn't see it listed on their updated menu but they still offered it. Yum if you don't mind working for your food, but optionally. You can consume the outer shell as it is fried to a nice crisp. This was very tasty. We also ordered the lunch size pork with rice. This was just enough rice for the two of us. The hot and sour soup was probably one of the best I've had. We'll be back to try a few other dishes. The place is clean. Service is helpful.Parking spots seem limited but we found parking in their small lot.

This restaurant has only been opened for a few months, it is now our favorite go to Chinese restaurant in the area. We have been here many times for family dinners and twice for large group celebration banquets. The food is always very good, there are so many and variety of dishes to try. Please try with an open mind, we talked to the boss lady, her chef husband is from WuXi (where Wu Xi Spare ribs dish came from). It's near Shanghai, but their tastes are slightly different so don't expect the taste of standard American Chinese food. Here are our family and the group favorites:- Ribs in Brown Sauce, aka sweet and sour spare ribs, they are tasty and the meat is so tender that it just falls off the bone.- Shrimp XLB, don't expect it to be the same as DTF, their Shrimp XLBs are huge and delicious, and each has a good sized shrimp inside!- 3- Deluxe Tofu casserole is a good soupy dish to share- Cumin Lamb (I think Dumin is a Typo on the menu), if you like lamb, this is a must try! The cumin taste is unique and the meat is tender inside yet slightly crunchy on the outside. It's a bit spicy so ask for less spicy if applicable.- Piquancy Spicy Shrimp: I loved the taste! Make sure there are enough pieces for everyone in the party.- Meatball in clear soup: an unique version of the Lion's Head as it's in clear soup instead of brown sauce. $6 a piece served in a bowl, we like to share one (one giant meatball is enough for 3-4 to try) and take one home- Vegetables: we have tried several and they are all pretty good, we like the simple Fried bean seedlings with wine (aka snow pea leave) and the string beans. There are so many more good dishes! When we first came, we loved their service, both servants were excellent. As more people discovered this place, the service varies a little depending on how busy they are. They do try very hard but sometimes the business is just a bit overwhelming for two servers, especially during weekends and holidays.Parking is plentiful as it uses the Ramada lot, I'm especially impressed with the good lighting in the evenings.

Back at Tasty China for the second time in less than two weeks! Two weeks ago, I visited Tasty China for the first time. It was a weekend, so their lunch specials weren't available. I told myself I'd definitely return to give them a try, and today, I finally did! Their lunch specials are offered Monday through Friday, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.Since today was a Thursday, it was the perfect opportunity to explore the lunch specials with a friend. Tasty China offers 17 different options for their lunch specials, including classic Chinese favorites like Kung Pao Chicken, Beef or Shrimp, and Mongolian Beef. They also feature popular Taiwanese dishes such as Fried Eggs with Yuba and Luffa, Rice with Stewed Pork, and Rice with Red-Cooked Pork. Each lunch special comes with a spring roll, daily soup, and steamed rice, priced between $10.99 and $11.99.My friend and I decided to try some traditional Taiwanese dishes. I chose the Rice with Stewed Pork, while my friend went with the Fried Eggs with Yuba and Luffa. The meal began with the soup of the day, which happened to be hot and sour soup. It was flavorful but packed quite a spicy punch! If you enjoy bold, fiery flavors, you'd love this soup. The vegetable spring roll that accompanied our meals was served hot and fresh. It was crispy and a delightful start to the meal. Now, onto the main dishes! My Rice with Stewed Pork was a standout. The tender pork and savory braised meat sauce were packed with flavor and paired perfectly with the steamed rice. The braised egg was a great addition, complementing the rich, fatty pork wonderfully. Every bite of this dish was indulgent and satisfying.I also sampled my friend's Fried Eggs with Yuba and Luffa, and it was another flavorful success. The fried eggs and luffa were soft and tender, while the yuba added a chewy, slightly spongy texture that contrasted nicely with the other ingredients. The dish had a light yet savory profile, with an excellent balance of flavors and textures.Overall, I'm thrilled to have returned to Tasty China. Their lunch specials are an incredible value, and I'm already looking forward to trying more of their offerings. Next time, I plan to explore some of their classic Chinese dishes. I love how their lunch specials feature a great mix of both Chinese and Taiwanese flavors!

Located where the Ramada is on PCH in the front area. Honestly I'm not sure where to park but there are spots near the restaurant but it was all full due to hotel guests it even people at the restaurant. There are so many menu items but choose 7 different items for pick up. Pretty pricey for the amount of food they give. And it did take longer than quoted for the items to be ready.Fried pork dumplings: pretty good and if you have chili oil at home it would even be better. There is soup inside and the fried crisp bottom was a good texture difference.Green onion pancakes: okay. Flakey almost.Dan Dan noodles: really good! A good kick and chewy noodles.Beef chow fun: stir fried noodles. Good but I expected more of a serving. It's just a black container of noodles while other places would fill a styrofoam.Salt and pepper spare ribs: good but a bit different? Like maybe the pepper was a white pepper I think? Or a different spice. Typhoon shrimp: fried shell on shrimp. Tough... so tough. And you can't even eat the shell like it wasn't fried enough to make it easy to eat.Dry pot cauliflower: had some beef pieces and had some .Overall for over $100 it was mid. Flavor wise some items I liked like the stir fried noodles and pan fried dumplings, even the Dan Dan noodles. Wish they did give more servings for noodles. It was such a small amount to share since its family servings.

Server staff was very friendly and pleasant. The small baskets were large and hearty. The small basket was large and hearty. The fried rice was delicious. My husband liked the Bean Curd with Bean Powder. All were generous in volume.

Located inside of Ramada hotel complex, the restaurant has changed the ownership and name recently. From outside, the restaurant still looks the same, but the interior went through some remodeling and looks refreshed. The server was very nice and we were seated right away. The menu is quite extensive and below is the list of what we ordered:THE GOOD ONES: Beef Onion Pancakes: the beef were tender and well seasoned, pancakes had good texture and hoishin sauce went very well with the roll.Pork Pan Fried Bun: the pork filling was well seasoned and the outer wrap was well cooked and soft. The pan fried bottom with sesame seed was slightly over burnt.Beef Cube with Pine Nut & Rice Cake: the sauce was light but flavorful. The beef slices (not cubes) were tender.Boiled Shredded Dry Bean Curd: If you like tofu, this dish is for you. The soup is light but flavorful.THE GREAT ONE: Pork Xiao Long Bao, they are huge and I really mean it. The wrap was nicely steamed with the broth juice intact inside. The pork filling is well seasoned and tender.THE STRANGE ONE: Stir Fried Knife Shaved Noodle: it had tomato base sauce and slightly sweet. The dish also had sliced potatoes. THE UNEXPECTED ONES: Squirrel Fish: deep fried fish shape filet topped with crazily bright red sweet and sour sauce. All I can say is wow. The sauce really hit you when you taste it. Duck Blood Soup: Didn't think I would like it, however the duck blood cubes were so smooth and went very well with the sauce/soup. I couldn't stop eating it.Overall, great experience and happy to have another option for Chinese food in South Bay.

My new favorite Chinese restaurant in Torrance!! The original restaurant known as Lee's Kitchen recently got replaced with Tasty China. Not that Lee's kitchen was bad but Tasty China is on a whole new level. They have amazing soup dumplings (shao long bao) that I dare say is better than ding tai fungs version. Double the size, thinly wrapped and hot out of the steamer. They also have amazing pan fried pork buns that are just as juicy as the soup dumplings with a crispy sesame bottom and a thing outer shell. Definitely get the dried pot cauliflower, which is a must order. The dish is spicy in all three right ways with the mouth numbing sensation that really gets your mouth watering after every bite. The dish does come with thinly sliced pieces of pork so not 100% vegetarian. The beef onion pancake is also a heavy hitter that is a small dish that is packed with a ton of meat and full of tender beef and hoisen sauce. The dan dan noodle was deliciously cooked with aldente noodles, minced beef and hot oil for ththat perfect combination.Overall I have been more than impressed with every dish I have tried at Tasty China and will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu. Parking sucks, but service is excellent.
