Taqueria El Cortez Prime Tacos

Some of the best carne asada I've ever had! It is in a kind of sketchy part of the neighborhood BUT their food is the real deal.This is the restaurant extension of the meat market located in the same plaza. It's pretty small without much seating and they've got a self serve salsa bar. Service was good and food came out quicker than anticipated even though we ordered there and ordered a lot! Portions are also pretty large for a good price too! What I ordered:-Asada Quesadilla: AMAZING! I've actually only ever had this here and it is likely going to be my go to. The meat is perfectly marinated, so flavorful, and not chewy/hard at all. You could tell it's authentic asada, it just has that special taste. This, paired with the cheese is just perfect. It also came with a little scoop of guac and some lettuce. The little scoop of guac they give is good with it and so is the red salsa, but the meat is so flavorful, the quesadilla could honestly be eaten by itself. It is such a simple food item yet SO GOOD. You really can't go wrong with this one!!! 5/5 -Horchata: This was good BUT since it was the last one, I think it was the bottom of the batch. There were so many rice particles at the bottom, I kept on having to clear my throat as I drank it. It definitely didn't do anything to help wash the food down nor quench my thirst. I'm sure portions that aren't from the bottom are perfect but this one was just a total miss. 3/5Overall, this is definitely a hole in the wall that has some of the best carne asada! If you love quality, authentic Mexican food and meats, you've got to check this place out!

Never disappoints! 10/10--so much flavor and an authentic taste. I always recommend this spot. The service is consistently great, and the place is always clean. A must-visit!

Authentic Sonoran tacos! Came here with some friends for dinner. I ordered the prime Sonora taco and the al pastor vampiros taco. Both were amazing! They have a salsa bar that you can dress your tacos with. The meat is top notch. I was told that they get their meats from their own butcher a couple doors down. The flavor is amazing here. There isn't too much seating, the place is pretty small. Service was friendly and the food came out pretty fast. I highly recommend this spot if you're looking for authentic Mexican tacos.

This is one of my favorite spots I had the prime flap meat burrito with cheese sour cream and avocado so delicious authentic and hot the service was great good customer service and friendly staff the restaurant is very clean and inviting I love coming to this place totally recommend homemade prime taste!

PROS: - The meat quality here is top-notch. They use the same meat that you can get from their carniceria a couple of doors to the left. - The asada burrito, mmmm, chef's kiss! - The salsas are tangy, spicy, and perfect with their food. - The horchata is delicious here as well. - Their pickled carrots/jalapeno... yum!- Prices are decent. - Food portions are generous. CONS: - None.

Great place to get some Mexican food! High quality meat, good service, and filling portions. I believe the meat comes from the market a few doors down.The interior small and there's not a lot of seating. After you order, you wait until your order is called. For the burrito, the size of it was pretty big in my opinion. The carnitas are some of the best I've ever had. The portion they gave me was really filling, and you're able to substitute what is put on the burrito. In my case, I put rice, beans, and cheese in addition to the carnitas. Will definitely get another one of these soon. For the tacos, they only serve you the meat of your choice and two tortillas per taco. There is a self serve bar with salsa, pico de gallo, onion, cilantro, and more. I love filling my tacos with a lot of toppings. Beware that the red salsa from the self serve bar is quite spicy. Highly recommend El Cortez Prime Tacos!

The Neighborhood Taco spot. If you haven't tried this place yet, you guys really don't know what you're missing. Some of the best and tastiest tacos around LA!! It's a hidden gem nestled in a small strip mall next to its own Carniceria. The short rib, asada, and prime rib tacos are amazing. The lengua burrito is also very delicious. Try this spot out asap!

Finally, a spot I can brag about here in Norwalk. The food and quality of the food is great here. Salsa bar has good options, including frijoles de la olla, which are really good. Place is not fancy and it's not big but who cares? Order to go if you're not okay with this. One thing is for sure, you will be having some of the best tacos in this area!

I think this is my new burrito spot. I had a pollo burrito and it was so good I'm thinking about it a day later. This is some good marinated grilled chicken.The burritos are simple here. Rice, whole beans, meat, cilantro and onions. Cilantro tastes awful to me so I was beyond happy that there was actually no cilantro in my burrito. A lot of places seem unable to or don't bother not putting it. They accommodated me and double checked.The salsas are self serve and they have larger tubs for sale with all the ingredients listed on them. This was nice for allergy purposes. The red is spicy but very tasty. I kinda wish the bar had lime but that's minor.The spot itself is simple and pretty new. They have bar seating so it's really a place for takeout or eating solo.

Well I been coming to this taqueria from day one ,must all the time you get really good customer service (mostly girls) , and food is good , is been some time I have not visit couple time they close early or not open at all , finally today visit , and just notice the menu have some changes, not on the food ,but the price, well I understand all business are racing prices , but this one take the cake, for each item they have 2 prices , CASH, OR CREDIT OR DEBIT .what is this I know couple of banks terminals and they don't charge that much for transactions , meaning from your total they with add 1 or 2 dlls but this people , raise the price to each item almost extra dlls diferencie if you pay cash or credit /debit transaction , so if I buy 5 tacos , I will pay 5 extra plus tax for my transaction , I NEVER SEEN A RESTAURANTE DO THIS , AND THIS PLACE IS A WHOLD INTHE WALL , unfortunately majority of the customers , not all understand this difference , they pay in cash , so that means the business is not reporting all transactions , I will never support this business ever again , and cashier HECTOR , really bad customer service , if you don't like your job , fine another one , we Mexicans are very polite and educated to say thank you , welcome comeback again , any way is very sad to see this is coming to a bad place to recomment. I love this food , but all this transactions are abusing the customers never again .
