Tacos Don Chente

I'm disappointed to say that our recent visit to Tacos Don Chente left much to be desired. As regular patrons during our teenage years, it's disheartening to see the decline in quality over the past decade. For breakfast, I opted for the huevos rancheros and cafe de olla, while my husband chose the enchiladas. When our orders arrived, I was eager to dig in, but unfortunately, the rice was served cold and the tortillas seemed to have been warmed in the microwave. The saving grace was the eggs, which were delicious thanks to the flavorful salsa. Regrettably, my husband's rice was also cold and both dishes tasted as if they had been reheated from previously frozen rice. It's disheartening to say that the disappointing food quality has made me decide not to return to Tacos Don Chente.

Food was great at Don Chente's tonight!! Like seriously me and my family were impressed!!! We've been here before but the quality was really on point tonight! Got the pollo pechuga plate and the 2 taco/2flauta con papa plate. Also got a limonada with chia seeds that was just perfect! Tortillas de maíz were handmade and everything was made fresh to order! Prices were extremely reasonable and the staff was friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back!

There's green chilaquiles underneath all the goodness. Sooooo much food and really good. I only ever order this when I eat here.

Don Chente's is my favorite place to come and eat.Despite all the low rated reviews, please do not let their experience impact yours. Everything from the service to the food is absolutely delicious. Rosalia attended me and she was the sweetest person ever.Food:Delicious and authentic. Everything from the menu ranging from the frappes, soups, chilaquiles, fajitas are to die for. Food came on a timely manner, hot, and yummy!Atmosphere and space:Family friendly, spacious, and welcoming!Stop by!

I live around the corner and have never tried this place. It's pretty good! Got some tacos de asada

If you order here make sure all your items are in the bags. I was missing creamer for my coffee. I ordered the chilaquiles w sunny side up and they gave me scrambled eggs. I also ordered flour tortillas and they didn't pack it for me.. considering that it was slow and not many other people there. Just myself and two other people

The food, the service, the location...it's all great! Me and my family have been coming here for the longest and it's become one of our favorite restaurants in HP. The quality of the food is delicious, prices are reasonable, and the menu offers a great variety of Mexican dishes. We usually order takeout and it's always easy to place an order over the phone and our order is always ready within the time given. A plus: they offer delicious breakfast plates, including pancakes, which great for lazy Sunday mornings. The employees and the manager are always friendly and go above and beyond to make sure you have a great dining experience with them! Tip: there is parking in the front but there is also an additional parking lot behind the restaurant.
