Tried this place for takeout and unfortunately, it was rather awful both in terms of the quality of the fish, the combination of ingredients and sauces they use in their rolls, and overall taste.Truly surprised because the Yelp reviews are really good and yet what we had was so bad..

What a nice place! I came in on a Saturday evening. Surprisingly it was fairly empty but it didn't affect my experience one bit. This place is nice and can be found tucked in Seal Beach next to the Vons. The staff were super friendly and the dishes came out with some pizzazz and I was here for the show. We tried several dishes but I only captured the prettiest ones. However, everything I ate was delicious and fresh. The cuts of fish were humongous, which I appreciated!

My brother-in-law from Missouri was in town for business. He texted "is my office anywhere near your house?". Turns out he was 5 minutes away. I picked him up after work and asked what CA cuisine he wanted. He picked sushi. I was trying to find somewhere cool and this place was near the beach and had great reviews. We walk in the door and a stench punches us in the face. It smelled so bad in here I was instantly embarrassed and whispered to my wife "lets go somewhere else". My brother-in-law said "nah, it just smells like somebody burnt something" so we stayed. Unlike every single other person who walked in the door we were ignored and stood there until somebody realized we weren't leaving and sat us. Our waiter didn't seem interested in serving our table either. Every other customer they yelled out greetings and treated them like stars. This is why I can't give the place 5 stars.Food though was 5 stars all the way. For being from Missouri my brother in law was a sushi pro. He ordered a sashimi bowl. He was very specific on what type of fish he wanted and the waiter kept arguing saying "it's chef's choice" he said "well, this is the choice he's going to make". Again, service was very odd here compared to the treatment other tables were getting.The bowl that arrived was a work of art. Beautiful presentation of different fish. We were all amazed. He loved it.I ordered the happy hour special. The description was you picked three different rolls and got a smaller portion of them, miso soup, salmon skin salad, and a drink. The waiter carries out this gigantic wooden structure and I'm thinking "wow, that must be a family platter". He then sits is down in front of me, it's my happy hour special! Damn! This was HUGE. Three beautiful rolls and all three tasted totally different. Most places these days everything tastes like a CA roll slathered in sauce. These all tasted distinct. The glutton I am I devoured my entire family platter. The salmon skin salad was the best I've had and I'd come back just for that! Other tables were getting these giant wooden staircase looking things that sushi was placed on. Presentations here were works of art. My wife ordered a salmon philly roll, some gyoza, and veggie tempura. She also enjoyed her meal.Besides the initial stench and the really bizarre service we all had a great time and enjoyed our food. I would definitely come back to try more things. The beautiful presentation alone is worth the trip.

... I can't keep up with myself here. I've been here twice in the last week. First being Friday night with some friends and then I asked to come here for my birthday dinner with my husband on Sunday night.Both times were fantastic and our server both times was Molly. We tried the salmon skin salad, the awesome roll, the seared yellow tail with spinach, the tofu salad and the live scallops.With my husband, we had two basic "rolls", the cucumber roll with no rice, the DELICIOUS shiso peppers (Free with Yelp check in, an $8 value) and 4 orders of TORO. The toro was THE BEST I'VE EVER HAD, or that I recall having from anywhere. Buttery was an understatement. SO DELICIOUS!!! The sushi and sashimi presentation here is OVER THE TOP. It may take a little longer than usual because they do not spare any attention to detail. (See photos)Will definitely be back... as soon as I can round up more friends! ... Most likely next week. LOL

First time trying this place. Service is prompt and friendly. The sashimi pieces are are thick and fresh. I ordered the chirashi bowl and my husband got the unagi bowl. So much food but very yummy! We got the free tako salad. Kirin beer only $5. We will come again.we also got free miso. Ask their fresh catch.

Fresh and delicious.Located in a strip mall next to a CVS. Lots of parking and seating available when we came here for lunch. There is a large sushi bar in the back left corner and lots of tabletops with both chair and booth seating. The menu is very extensive and took me a while to go through. We ordered the 8 pcs sashimi set, Sammy Roll, and the Triple Tuna roll.The sashimi set comes with 8 pcs of sashimi, 4 pcs of the Absolutely Fabulous roll, seaweed salad, miso soup, cucumber salad, vegetable and shrimp tempura. The sashimi tasted so fresh and melts in your mouth.The Sammy Roll comes with fresh jalapeños on top and was so spicy, we had to take the jalapeño off. The Triple Tuna was ok, but out of the 3 rolls we ordered, the Absolutely Fabulous was our favorite.The service was great. Very attentive. Checked in many times and was great with suggestions. Would come back again for the sashimi set and the Absolutely Fabulous roll.

Cute place. I liked the food. Parking is in a huge strip mall so it was super easy. Sign on the place said you get 10% discount for paying cash but I paid in cash and got no discount, which was a bummer. Didn't want to deal with asking for it and it's annoying that I'd have to when they have signage that indicates that. Overall, not bad.

Located in a busy strip mall, you'll find a delicious sushi spot with a ginormous menu. There were so many choices on the menu that it took us a bit to order. We tried the mussels as our appetizer which only come with three. They came last and we had to remind the server, but they were so good. Flavorwise, they were perfect, with a nice char on top. The Spider Roll was good, but the best pieces were the end pieces that included a nice sized portion of soft shell crab. However, once you reach the middle of the roll, the soft shell pieces become small and almost non existent. Great to try, but I'll skip this one next time. The table favorite was the Lobster Roll. Pretty in presentation, it was presented in two ways on one plate. Half were rolled in avocado and again a perfect char on top with so much flavor. The Rainbow Roll was topped with small pieces of fish. The fish was fresh, but this roll just needed more. Overall, service was good. The delivery of food was a bit off, with long delays between rolls. But, I'll be back to try more.
