Surawon BBQ

We love Surawon! We started coming here 7 years ago when we first moved to Norwalk. We loved the BBQ and all the side options! We also love that the family that owns Surawon knows us and always gives us a warm welcome! Our faves are the beef belly, the brisket and the marinated beef. Love the pineapple chicken too! For sides we love the miso soup, the pickled cucumber, the glass noodles and the kim chi. You'll find us there at least twice a month!

Not a bad place to eat KBBQ but there are definitely better places to choose from in the immediate area. Perhaps the most alluring thing about this place was the prices. They are somewhat cheaper than other KBBQs and that is about it.We were seated very quickly since the restaurant was practically empty when we arrived. Though there were not many people there, the service was still quite slow. We had to continuously flag down anyone we could to have sides and meat brought to the table. Bear in mind, there are only three workers in this entire establishment, at least for the front of the house. The old korean couple, who I assume own the joint and a young server who seems overwhelmed much of the time.The place itself looked clean enough but according to my friends, the bathroom was a nightmare. I did not check it out myself but was a bit concerned, as I have always been under the impression that the kitchen is likely just as clean as the restrooms.The food was very average. The thing that I liked most was probably the beef belly but sadly, we ordered this towards the end so I did not get to have much of it. I was not the biggest fan of the brisket, no matter how long it was cooked, it always tasted very rubbery.One thing I want to note that was funny to me is that none of the fans in the restaurant were on. Instead, the front doors are wide open, as was the side door by where we were seated. As a result, it is a little cold in there.

These guys are greedy! Came in with my youngest daughter (10years old) and her friend also 10. Both girls eat like birds. They charged us full price for them. This has been our go to for over 10 years. Don't think we will be coming back again.

Delicious,great service and not over crowded like others!! Good prices too!place looks clean and relaxing. I will continue to enjoy this Gem.

Always trying to come up with new menu for 2024 since the last time I came and from the inside it looks different coz there was a partition before and now it's a one big room

My brother, cousin and I went to a kbbq to celebrate her getting hired. When we walked in, she was already being rude. We saw a shelf of Buldak ramen and we were just excited about it. The lady went, "No no. You get, you cook for yourself." Like we weren't even gonna ask her to cook for us? Anyways she sat us down and we had our phones out. She was like, "No phones. My mom had a room where there are no phones. This is my place my rules." So my brother in response to that was, "Well I have to message my mom" and i responded with, "I'm just looking for jobs." She was like, "You're looking for a job. We're hiring." I didn't apply to this place but I thought this was an opportunity for me. She gave me the notepad and told me to write down my information. Since I was looking for a job anyways, I thought it would be fine. I applied to two other places. She said something about Johnny being there to contact me, that I would receive a call. Then she said there would be an interview at 10 am today. So obviously I thought that was okay to go to. Basically she was like after, "Don't wear earrings, no long nails and hair up." But she said it to my brother and told him to explain it to me. Like I was right here. If you want to say something, say it to me. She said it in such a condescending way like I didn't understand what she was talking about. We knew she just talked a lot and most likely didn't mean anything she said but I wanted to take the whole job and interview seriously so I did. I think I was in the wrong for thinking it was real right? Anyways she went on saying how busy it is and how I have to be fast on my feet. When I said I wouldn't be available Tuesdays and Thursdays she said, "You not available? Oh that's not good you have to work as fast on your feet as possible" like she expected me to not be able to do it. She even said it herself, "You work days since there's no people there" and "I do not think you would be able to handle it" Like why suggest I work there, give me an official day for an interview and tell me if get a call if it was all fake? While we ate, she constantly talked to us, telling me about how my training starts today even though today was supposed to be my interview. We asked for plates and we didn't get it until we asked again. I didn't get a call but i wanted to be professional on going, that way I could make sure right?. The place doesn't open until 11 am. So what was she saying, "10"? When they arrived it was like forty five minutes later and when she was at the front door I asked, "Do you remember me?" And she just flat out said, "No." She recognized me the moment she saw me. Then she said, "Oh you're the girl who wanted a job" and then said right after that, "Johnny will call you" Like I get which parts I was in the wrong? I think I was in the wrong. I said I didn't get a call and then she just said, "I will have Johnny call you" I left after that. I feel so stupid. I don't know if this could count as a "review" but I just wanted someone to know about this experience.

Friendly place love to go over the weekend Good service price good meats al you can eat beers are cheap

Very home like Korean bbq restaurant, very welcoming and super nice customer service. Zero complaints, food is delicious.

The food was very good and fresh. The customer service was phenomenal and fast. The environment was warm and inviting. They played Minecraft ambient music in the background which was the final nail in the coffin. Overall an amazing place you should try and bring your gang Fr!!!!
