Sura Korean BBQ Tofu House Restaurant

Had a bit of a situation with this restaurant. Ordered takeout from this restaurant via Ubereats. Forgot to include an additional item and needed to change my payment option so I cancelled the order within 3 minutes. Was charged a cancellation fee from Ubereats even though I cited the reason for cancellation as "forgot item". I had immediately reordered with them, with the same items plus an additional item. This was an annoyance. Food wise, the soups were decent but I noticed they were not fully filled containers. I didn't think much of it but did read other reviews of others having similar experiences for takeout. The beef brisket had lots of meat but the tofu soup seemed a little bare and was under-filled. I left a negative review regarding the cancellation charge and under-filled container. The owner reached out promptly to me and rectified the situation. She advocated for me as a customer and was able to obtain a refund from Ubereats for my cancellation fee and an additional $10 for the subpar soup portion. Claire really went above and beyond for this first-time customer. Thank you, I will be a returning customer because of this positive experience.

My husband and I decided to try Sura for dinner the other night and truly enjoyed our time here. We didn't make reservations but were seated quickly. It was just the two of us. Guests have the option to eat inside (ordering from the menu) or doing the KBBQ outside in the patio. I loved that we were separated from the KBBQ people as it can definitely get smoky! My husband and I ordered the veggie dumplings and the tofu beullok for our appetizers. The tofu beullok was DELICIOUS and it was beautifully (and delightfully) marinated with the yummy gochujang glaze. For my entree, I ordered the seafood tofu soup (medium spice) and my husband ordered the vegan bulgolgi. Both were DELICIOUS! The amount of vegan bulgolgi we got was EXTREMELY PLENTIFUL! Wow, so flavorful and so much to enjoy! I had to deduct one star because we waited for our dumplings a pretty long time (we were well into our meal and had to ask a few times). Also the banchan items were average. The kimchi was not very spicy and the other banchan options were nothing to write home about (they had bean sprouts, mac salad, cucumber kimchi, etc). The overall vibe was interesting. They had two tv screens playing kpop music videos but they were playing Top 40 music overhead. I was expecting more kpop playing throughout the scene. All good though. I would definitely recommend this place to family and friends! Thank you for the experience and I would definitely come back again!

WOW!This place has earned a spot in my heart whenever I want to get AMAZING Korean food!Decided to surprise my partner with the whole shebang (dinner date: with our date being a swan ride followed by dinner at Sura's) And we came in with our minds blown!Parking: They do have a designated parking lot but it's rather small so you may find yourself sitting and waiting for a spot to show up. You can park on the street but the surrounding area seems sketch to me so we decided to wait for a spot to open in the parking lot.Once we found parking we saw that we had to add our name to the waitlist, took about 20mins - not to bad, but if you added yourself to the waitlist online that's even better!Food: WOW WOW WOW! The food here was delicious! I didn't even notice how HUGE the portions were! Here is what we ordered. Huge plus, the food came out so fast! Another huge plus, they have their own Vegan Menu! And it was recently updated too! This made it SO EASY to order as vegetarians because we don't have to modify anything! There is a 1.5 hour limit so be aware!Adult Capri Sun: PROMO Buy 1 get one $1Strawberry Yogurt: Holy smokes this drink is STRONG. For the price I felt it was so worth it! It comes in this cute BIG pouch with a light up cube! The effects were fun! The drink was strong and tasty! I cannot complain LOL Normally when you go to restaurant you wish the drink was strong, here I didn't have that thought!Lychee: Same as above! I recommend their Adult Capri Suns!Vegan Hangover Ramen: Level 1 spice, this was tasty! It was more than enough for 2 people to share!Vegan Bulgogi BBQ: OMG the taste, mouth feel, and smell was 99.99% close to the real deal. I can't believe I found a place in SOCAL where I can eat tasty and VEGAN KBBQ! It is a bit pricy, almost $30! BUT you do get the banchan sides & a bowl of rice - pretty worth it!Vegetarian Japchae: I LOVE Japchae so this dish was so worth it! They call this an appetizer but holy moly this app is HUGE - you can pretty much have this as your main entree if you wanted too! Sweet and savory, perfect to my liking!Shitake Shroom Fries: YES YES YES. You MUST get this! The sauce they provide with this crispy battered shrooms was so delightful! I wished I gotten a second order of this, it was THAT GOOD.This place is so worth it, be prepared to wait but all tasty things come to those who wait!

Quality food, fun date spot + best tofu soup!Food: We are used to AYCE, but this was not. We got the beef + pork combo for two. This is SO much food and worth the price. You get four meats, banchan, tofu soup, dumplings, crispy rice cakes, salad, rice, cheese corn plus any sides like rice or radish paper, jalapeños, etc. Best part is you can take your leftovers home - usually you cannot at AYCE places. Happy hour was $5 Sapporo and tons of other drink and food options as well! Wait time: none on a Wednesday around 5pm. Vegan friendly!!! They have a whole vegan combo and lots of a la carte options. Location & parking: there is a small lot with designated parking for the restaurant, but when it's busy it fills up quickly. Very limited street parking. Ambiance: clean & modern. Inside, there is a bar. Indoor seating is restaurant style (no tabletop stoves). To get the classic Korean bbq experience, definitely sit outside where you can cook your own items. The patio is shielded from the traffic and warm thanks to the large heaters. Service: They checked on us many times. Got refill of salad and banchan when needed. Our server explained everything and gave us a great suggestion on the meat (get the marinated meat - our server said "you can get a prime rib at Outback any other day" lol). I'm upset we didn't come sooner as we live literally around the corner. Highly recommend this kbbq spot!!

Both inside and outside seating. Great for groups. If you want bbq you sit outside. Large sizes, great prices and flavor!

Went on a Sunday with a party of 8 and waited about 10 minutes for their biggest table. Our server was very helpful, kind to and patient with us considering our larger party size. I ordered the vegan scallion pancake for the table which was perfect because it came with 8 slices. Each slice was a fair size. The pancake was crispy and tasty and the soy-like sauce was a nice pairing! For my main, I got the vegan japchae with tofu. Fortunately, the tofu was no extra charge! It wasn't the best japchae I've had but was still good. Lots of veggies included, the onions added a sweetness, and the sesame oil came through well. It was a big portion too, it lasted me 3 meals! Overall, good food and service and I'd still come back to try a few other items!

My boyfriend and I had an incredible experience today at your establishment. It was our first time ever trying Korean bbq and our server Ace gave us an an introduction and tutorial on how to use the equipment, he was such a great help all throughout our incredible meal, he gave us great suggestions and tips. we decided to grill outside on the patio, it was a chilly day out but they turned on the heater for us! definitely coming back soon!!

This was my first time having KBBQ our server Ace was very hospitable and answered all our questions and even taught us how to grill everything. He made great suggestions making sure we got exactly what we were looking for. The restaurant is nice it's chilly outside but they turned on the heater and we got warmed up in no time. Food tasted amazing definitely made a great first impression to me on KBBQ definitely coming back.
